This is an extremely snowy multiday adventure and it begins now!

The way he looks at her, with such love, careful to make sure she is ok. What a beautiful relationship to have.
Yes, you can definitely see in his eye's how much he loves this woman ❤😊
TOGR always claim to have "no agenda" but it's pretty obvious their agenda is being informative, entertaining, having fun and being positive.
Their real agenda is to hypnotize their viewers by doing the *American Snow Dance* 9:42
Hell yes! i love the positive vibes coming from this channel :)
The shot at 33:37 was epic btw!
No agenda meaning they are not shrilling for Backstabb....Backcountry like Dan Becker etc.
No agenda means no link to the jet boil.
@@jonothandoeser Looks like a native Eskimo snow dance! Lololololololol
I love how you care so much for Susie and her well-being. My husband was so like that when we were young. Now we are so old, we have to hang on to each other!
Hanging on is good!
A spouse willing to push herself and have new, potentially very cold, experiences with you is a keeper! I'm more surprised you saw so many other hikers out there
Susie is just an absolute sweet heart, and luke your the nicest guy. You guys are made for each other. I love you guys!!!
Betty Boop-voice!
You’re a fortunate man Luke to have your wife coming out with you. As I aged I find it harder to share what I love. People move away, die or just have the energy. You are blessed to have her.
I'm 65 and my wife is 55. She is still game on but I cherish every moment. We still go for it.
boohoo 😭😭
I love to camp and hike but I'm getting old (57) and had knee surgery and need knee replacement and have only one friend he's a male, I'm a female and don't feel comfortable sharing sleeping space but will as ive only had 2 female friends in all my life and your right about how things change as my bestie died and after 45 yrs of friendship w the other we took separate paths so I need a camping partner and it seems not many my age are interested plus being old my little 2 man tent is getting painful as I age. I hope one day I get well off eniught to get an RV, heck I'd be happy With a van. If worse comes to worse I'll camp in a car before I stop camping.
Signed
Vicki Carnes
Oh I love that message. It is so heart felt.
He couldn't be happier with her there with him and she's braving a blizzard to be with him. That's true Love
Its heartwarming to see you all get along and being kind to one another!😊
I'm in hospital recovering from covid. This amazing episode truly raised moral. Huge thanks Luke and Suzie
Nothing says, “Happy Birthday, my love” than a Jetboil. Luke, you olé Casanova!🤪
🤣
🤣🤣
Lol...that's right! Bring me the coffee and THEN I'll talk.
Awesome look like hard work
Suzie's sleeping bag looked cozy
Truly enjoy your adventures. I am 82 yrs. We went camping with our four children and loved every minute of it. Brings a lot of memories of our days. Wonderful bonding for families. I am now bed ridden so this is great entertainment for me. Thank you for posting. God bless you and your family. Be safe 👵🏻💕👍🙏🙏.
Susie's a trooper buddy, I can see why you snapped her up! Looked a great camp. That snow was brilliant. Both take care 👍👍
Luke I think that was a smart decision for the two of you to get off the mountain. Because you know your limits with the gear that you have and the time constraint that it would take to get down and be safe. My hat's off to you be well to the wolf pack.
That was truly an epic adventure and Susie, you were impressive! It takes a strong heart and will to do what you did. We already know Luke's persistent fortitude and skills; I was impressed, Luke, that you seemed to "drag" your feet while hiking in front of Susie, making it easier for her...what a stud! In a very gentlemanly way, of course :) That was a good call to egress while the gettin' was good. The Hilleberg is one impressive shelter.
Excellent observation!
Yes, I noticed the trail break foot shuffling too. Good job. Hunting Colorado I always cut a walking stick to steady myself. I tried a trekking pole but a couple of times I forgot it and had to backtrack to find it. If I'm packing out 100 pounds of meat I cut two poles and still have to be careful in the rocks and brush. I notice you never use one.
Susie challenging herself! That’s so freaking awesome to see 💪
Maybe Snowshoes for the next trip out⛄️
A cheap pair works fine. Hiking poles also help with slippery footing 👍 great video you guys!
Not to mention the shitty etiquette of leaving a postholed trail behind.
Snowshoes: No cheap ones! In these conditions they may work. But conditions can get really harsh quickly. And then demands on material rise. Here's an example of another youtuber from the Bavarian Forest who had trouble with cheap snowshoes borrowed from a friend. Luckily he could do an improvised repair with paracord: ua-cam.com/video/wu4mifcw1lQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=BackpackerWilderness
@@1life2risk I assume snowshoes are more trouble then they are worth until you get over three feet of snow, & even after five feet of snow I assume they become worthless...???
@@aaronfuentes5919 Agree. Everything has it's limitations.
@@1life2risk think I'd rather just power through with some nice trekking poles.
Wow, Susie you're a trooper. Man i can't imagine walking a mile in that storm. 😆. Really enjoy watching this channel. 😉😀🙌🤗
I’m calling the stamping down the snow the Luke and Suzi two step !😀
I thought the Luke n Suzie shuffle. Bushyboy Oz.
@@ewengillies9826 What was that for anyway?
so what do you call the end of the video? hahaha
The silence after a snow is deafening
I love how you can tell who feels natural in the camera, his wife sounds like an informative video and I love it XD
Great stuff again. You're so lucky to have found a like minded spouse to do these adventures together!
Susie's foreshadowing of luke's impending snow storm adventure by himself will likely include an epic set of snow shoes
And a polk sled for all the gear. It’s easier with that amount.
You two are a beautiful couple. Suzie I don't understand how you can say that you had so much fun when you were obviously distressed and exhausted from hiking in such deep snow.
Just returned from an adventure in Roan Highlands in the snow. Temps in teens and high winds.
A couple of game changers included micro spikes, trekking poles with large snow baskets, snow shoes & chemical warmers for gloves, drying socks/boots overnight & warming sleeping bags. A UCI candle raised the inside dew point and knocked down condensation. Also the AT weather app for the latest snow updates.
Proper prep and planning made for a memorable and fun 40 mile adventure from Indian Grave Gap to 19E.
Winter wonderland in the highlands.
UCI or UCO candle? I am trying to look this up to learn about it. Thanks!
Fella , you provide a great channel, you’ve got a genuine nature that comes over and makes you very easy to listen to
Loved this episode, keep them coming man
I didn't realize it at the time but me and a buddy parked right beside of you during this snow storm! It was an exciting three days and it's good to see you guys enjoyed it too. Lots of lessons learned including not leaving windows cracked on cars!
This trip really shows the necessity of having the proper gear. Here I sit watching this while so many of us Texans are without power and water. Take care and be safe.
and the very ending was FANTASTIC!!!
Snowshoes are worth their weight in gold in thick, deep snow.
yep. and i used mine to make a fire in a winter survival situation. my frames are made of magnesium. so i scrapped them and got shavings off my snowshoe frames to make a fire in a big snow cave in one of my vids. and did it on a national tv show once. i live on a huge huge volcano. snowing 4 feet here in the next few days. i live in the national forest on a 11245 tall mt that is a volcano.
@@MOUNTAINOUS walking on snow definitely beats in it. Very cool about the magnesium ones. I use a lightweight plastic set.
ya. If these 2 were really out there for days on end, their feet would be soaked regardless. And wet feet, are a death sentence in long exposure winter treks.
I don't understand why they didn't bring any. They were hoping for a foot of snow.
@@SavageAirguns i use bunny boots and military magnesium snowshoes. they look like tennis rackets and they are not that heavy but on deep pow you float. we are gonna get 3 feet in the next 5 days. we get 600 inches of snow a year. you need the big floaty kind where i live.
What an incredible trip for you both. I’m really glad to have found your channel. It gives me great tips, suggestions and wonderful camping/hiking experience to enjoy. Thank you for all the videos that you painstakingly review and publish for us all. Please take care... Wally
I grew up in northern Illinois and always took snow for granted. Then I went to college and one of my classmates was from Hawaii and had never seen snow in his life. I will never forget his reaction when he first saw snow - it was as if he had just met his long lost love after several years apart. It was a cool experience, and made me rethink my dislike of snow, having grown up shoveling it out of our driveway. It does have a certain magical quality to it.
the no agenda part of these videos is the reason i became a subscriber. i really appreciate you Luke
Hello just what I needed to relax thank you luke and susan
That scenery is spectacular! You guys are so, so cute! Always treasure each other and don’t take each other for granted. It was a joy to watch you on this adventure together.
When I was 17 years old I ran away from home for a full year and lived in the cab of my 1970 C 10 Chevy pickup truck. As the days got shorter and the nights colder I bought a single mantle Coleman lantern for a heat source. The only problem was I had to wake up every couple of hours to pump up the fuel tank. When it came to cooking, I had a single burner Coleman stove that also ran on Coleman fuel. I really learned a lot about surviving on bare minimum that year.
It’s always great to see you two off together you bring so much joy to being together thank you for sharing
Glad someone is having a good time with all the snow on the east coast!!! I was hoping for a TOGR snow video of the big snow storm.
OGR => TOGR???
@@alexandergutfeldt1144 Thanks, changed!
"Shelter, food and COFFEE" - a woman with good, solid priorities! Nice video. Winter is beautiful but it does have it's challenges!
Kudos! to Susie. You are a better woman than I am.
Very cool to see a collab with the both of you
Luke, your vids have always been great but, somehow they just seem to get better and better. The camera work, the background music are professional grade. And, including your well spoken and accomplished wife, is a masterstroke. She is such a beneficial addition!
Kudos to both of you ! 👍
patrick mcbride, you captured my experience perfectly. I was smiling the whole time! What great stuff
Every sympathy with you Susie...you are the 🌟of this vid
Congratulations for getting out in the storm and surviving.. The scenery is beautiful love the snow.. Smart decision leaving the top early.. The music playing on your hike down love it.. Great couples adventure!
Thanks guys! I moved from Georgia to Montana. We had 20 below temperature last night and the ground is covered in snow! Thanks for the video!
Ohh those woods look beautiful !
Wow, spring water. I've always imagined you could live in the poorest hovel in the woods if you had good water. You guys are great.
It's 2023 and I just now caught this adventure! That was some crazy snow! Susie, you did good!
I still can't believe this channel has only 300k subs. People have been missing out for a long time.
A channel well worthy of way more subscribers. You two are so much fun! Love these winter hiking vids of yours. Thanks for all your honest and thorough gear reviews. 👍
Wish I could go out on a winter camping adventure. I can at least live through yours. 💕
Hahaha. That last 30 second was fantastic. Well done. That had me laughing
Kudos to both of you. Your wife brings out the best in you. Love to see more adventures like this. Be safe strength and honor!!!🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
My husband and I SOOOOOOOOOOO loved this adventure!!!!!! It transformed us right there with you and Susie!! Wonderful editing as well. Can't wait for the next one and the adventure tips.
Proud of you,Suzi!! That was not easy but you made it!!
Happy belated birthday Luke! Suzy is a doll and a real trooper ! She did well!!
Great gift for Susie. I gave one of my sons an MSR Pocket Rocket II and Toaks 750ml & 450ml set for Christmas. Gift of adventure. Can’t beat it.
Thank you really enjoyed this vid and happy to see Susie too!
Breathtaking snowy scenery even though the hike through it was extremely difficult! Great video!
I love the ritual dance @9:50
Magnificent! The scenery is breathtaking. Thank you so much for filming it, especially the walk out. 👍😃❄️

Do you use a Mr buddy heater on all your winter trips? I’m new to this and that changes everything I thought.
Beautiful wife and so kind in character. I'm happy for him ..
Tent location in heavy snow fall is even more important . What widow makers look like in dry weather or rain become their name sake means when it snows !
My wife goes snow camping every year with me ELk hunting out west and always in a cold tent it’s a great adventure
dang Luke the mountains got hit with some snow, up here in northern Virginia the big snow storm keeps flaking!
What a fun video. Brought back old memories. The land and trees and hills were gorgeous. My memories of Winter snow, beauty and trees comes from skiing with my Dad. He put me on skis at a very young age. So young I put myself on my skis between his skis and wrapped my little arms around his long tall legs. This worked 😊 till I grew tall enough to reach the rope tows. ❤❤❤LOVED LOVED IT, SKIED into my 60s till knee surgeries needed.
GLAD YOU HAVE SOMEONE TO SHARE YOUR ADVENTURES WITH, AND MAKE MEMORIES. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Luke, Why do you guys never use trekking poles? If you tried them I bet you would never go again without!
What a great adventure Luke and Susie. The videography was fantastic, so beautiful. Thank you both so much for what you do. You provide a way for those of us that can no longer do some of the hiking and camping to still experience it. You inspire those that can to go out and do it . Love watching you guys, stay well.
There's a lot of things I like about winter hiking and camping more than summer. Its very quiet, you can hear the snow hit the ground and trees, there's more places to set up a tent, you don't have to worry about a camp fire or stove setting the forest on fire, there's less people, you can see all the cool animal footprints clearly. Ice does weird stuff. I just came back yesterday from a snow trip where there was these huge ice crystals everywhere, all over the ground. And if you can't stand the heat and humidity of summer, winter camping is for you!
It is amazing that your wife supports your hobbies! You 2 are a amazing couple! I cant complain myself but my better half would not go out in those conditions. Greetings from Berlin
My wife would freeze to death watching this video. 😂
Would love to see another video of staying in the shed with the wood stove.
You guys are so goofy, loved that ending.
The view between 7:30 and 7:40 is priceless. What is amazing is that are with someone,a significant other, whom you can enjoy this activity with. Very nice video. I very much like watching your videos. Thank you for posting!
Hahahaha love the dancing at the end🤣🤣🤣😁🤪😜
That's the tent you used on another snowy two or three nights if I remember. Wow, those trees are beautiful. I hope Luke offered to carry a little of your gear Susie. ;0)
Thank You Susie for going on a winter trip! I love your snow trips, come to maine or new Hampshire for winter camping, you might like it. 22 inches here last storm in northern mass
The dramatic music and watching Suzan struggle was heartbreaking and interesting at the same time.
I'm amazed at how you two put yourself through rigorous situations and conditions to experience, for our entertainment. You two are so adorable together, and you get along so well through thick and thin. Thank you for your videos, and please take care of yourselves.
Great video! Looks like the 2 of you had a great time!
The music was like a lord of the rings epic adventure when you listen to it.
I don't know if I could stay motivated to keep hiking if I had such a morose soundtrack following me.
If Frodo and Samwise the Brave can walk to Mordor, darnit I can do that extra 2 miles.
Any idea what the music is called?
I live and work in the forest, i can say your videos truly depicts the beauty. I would love trying stuff like yours here in South Africa.
Nuclear green beans!-lolol. :-) Like all the camping tips, Luke. That tent looks soo cozy. You guys together or apart are great, and your music choices Epic.
Much as I enjoy the content, Susie makes everything just that little bit more awesome.
Great adventure we had a couple off inches in the uk still icyey here
Way to go, Susie! I could never have done that hike. Absolutely no way. Awesome job.
Great call about heading down the mountain BEFORE it got too bad. Here in Bulgaria, they are calling for a minimum of 25 cm (9.84 in.) And a friend wanted to go on the mountain for his first "winter bushcamp". I said it was crazy because at an altitude of 7,500 feet (which is where my bushcamp is) it's going to be at the most close to 3 feet of snow by Sunday night. Showed him this video and said "this is how smart people do it" Cheers you guys, from Sofia, Bulgaria.
Has anyone counted the number of times he say Susie? 😀
Right call at the right time guys. Great adventure to wstch ... I'm envious. Bushyboy Oz
And also, you be a lucky guy!!! Susie is the sweetest!!!! Keep up the rockin videos!!!!
you pair make a great couple.........a spirit lifting video for sure.
I like a good "underwear fire" when i have been wet and cold. To explain "the underwear fire", it's when you make a campfire so big and hot so you have to sit in your underwear to survive 😆🤣. Old joke from back in the day.
5-10 inches, then it's starting to look like winter.
Great, just great being in tent while snowing
Hi Susie Hi Luke So be careful guys enjoy watching you you’re my favorite group
My favourite part about these videos is when they set the camera down and walk towards it and then past it knowing at one point they keep having to run towards and away from it over and over.
Do you have a vid on your truck setup for sleeping? I gotta get myself a “Buddy” 😉😊
Pro tip from someone who camped several snow storms myself, and has camped multiple multi foot storms in my years…learned this the hard way. You should get a cheap tarp a feet feet longer in one direction and make a angled front porch so snow will not trap you in, it doesn’t block vents and limit tracking snow in! It also decoding how it’s built can act as an exterior shelter.
Almost no tent does integrated front porches right if any… so making your own is critical. If blowing snow is an issue, change the angle of the porch area, so covers the side where snow is blowing in front more or you can draw another tarp over that side and connect them at the little loop holes with ties or carabeaners or whatever.. Make it as a separate structure floating just above your tent but covering it slightly if or tie it directly to one end of your tent. But important to angle it so snow buildup doesn’t knock it down and it’s easier to clear it build up happens.
As a side note: having a front porch also makes rainy camping less miserable… specially multi day camping in sams spot! Having a large usable front porch area to sit under while still outside of your tent to end scenery and have cup of coffee, maybe read a book or play games on handheld console/phone..etc etc. really does change things not being forced to stay hunkered down inside the tent or forced to pack up and move.. but very useful in the snow if done right! I also found maybe this is just in my mind but I found it kept my tent warmer having front porch. My guess if it’s legit maybe slower the rate of heat loss out of the front of the tent.
"I'm not ready for a Susie Solo".... OMG !!!! LMAO !!!!! you're hilarious :)
Susie-looks like she is about 18-Real sweet lady-Luke your a lucky guy😀
Luke
.you weren't staring at the camera...you were staring at her.😊😍
who could blame Luke for staring at Susie? rhetorical question lol
