Rick, thank you for this. If they could improve the mics to make this a true all in one ceremony system it would be a game changer and I'd definitely buy it.
Awesome review! I'm looking forward to this one. I wish the mics were better too. I also wish they had build it like the EV to be water resistant without the wrap. This is a GREAT ceremony unit!!!
Love the review. 100% agree with the mics. Maybe, they can give an upgrade option for the mics. This will replace my actual ceremony rig, and allow me to put the sound in front of the guests and not the back 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I agree with your suggestions. I'm currentrly using an antenna distro system for my ceremonies (yes, I'm a maniac) and I would hate to downgrade. Also, an idea, if you get the bodypack, you could hook up an 1/8 inch trs to an extra output on the mixer and use the speaker as a satellite one. Hopefully that will work. If they upgrade mics, I'm buying for sure. Thanks for the video.
Hi rick this might be a silly question but if you wanted a white speaker and cant get one is there such thing as a speaker scrim. Sorry im new to this.
Do you know if when you link 2 speakers, if the mic would also link to the second? I like to have 2 speakers for ceremony and this would be a game changer.
I have a pair of Maui 23G3s and love em. Please ask LD for a MAILA setup to do a review! I would love to see MAILA compared to the DB IG4T and the RCF NXL24.
whats the purpose of changing the polarity? can you explain and give an example? Ive seen that option but dont know what its for or when its designed to be used
You could potentially get less cancellation (especially with low frequencies) if you had two speakers pointing at each other or back to back pointing opposite directions. For individual channels it is most commonly used when miking a snare from two different directions. In a unit like this, it might be overkill for individual channels.
If the microphones were good and they also came with both black and white microphone cover options would be even better! White speaker + white microphone + white microphone stand would be 🔥
Are the batteires 12V? I am thinking of purchasing a PA with a 12v out...I know EV 8 has it, but only 0.5A and it's not enough to power my DJ console bcs it requires 1A...so I was thinking of piggybacking the console via batteries....could you do me a fovour and see if by any chance the batteries are putting out 12V? Also what do you think is thebiggest crowd 2 of those can handle outdoors? 150 people crowd possibe? I appreciate your opinion bro.
My only issue so far is those lead acid batteries, I believe that by now at lease lipo stack battery pack or lithium batteries, lead acid has a very short shelf life.
Hi Rick, i bought the ANNY 10, but I´m fully disappointed, because the mic are simply not loud enough. Even if you push all gains incl. the main to maximum, the loudness is not sufficient compared with other solutions I was already using. Useless if you really want to use the mics in a normal way. Didn´t you try outthe mics in a real usage scenario?
On a side note LD has only ever sent me this speaker. We have bought over 20k of there speakers because they are the best column arrays on the market for events right now.
That speaker is already $800.00 if they do those upgrades they will bump it up to $1,000. I guess I'll keep my Rockville 12 BT you know a poor man's ceremony speaker.
what a crap review - dont mention price dont test it out by singing and yet you slate the mics which are free - basic review and you miss out all the features echo reverb etc so how you know you just a dj - this is a buskers amp too not just a wedding dj amp plug in a guitar and sing with it .....

Thanks!
Thank you

Would have been a great idea to make the microphones charge in that storage space. Think they missed the boat on that

Rick, your opinions and updates are adding to the price of the speaker. Great thoughts though.

Looks like a winner to me based on your review. Weight is listed on the website in kg. MSRP also there in Euros.
80W speaker , Dispersion (120° x 60 °). I love that it has the delay function… ~$900.
Now I understand why the name Anny, because you can connect Annything to the all in one type of speaker 🔊
Yea we need good rock solid mics. The mic quality would determine if I get these
I think to have good rock solid wireless mics you'll have to invest into a separate unit of at least Shure SLX or Sennheiser XSW level.

There are white scrims you can put over speakers

I have not used it, but it should send the entire mix to the second speaker (albeit it would figure out stereo for stereo sources)
Yeah it's set to send it to the other speaker. But I don't have one to test with just yet
They should make the microphones add on's more professional and make it to order. I would deffently get one if mics where better.
i would use this for cocktail and karaoke home use. Use pro mics for ceremonies!

Lol. I have a whole email thread about the MAILA right now. I want it

I agree with you proposed changes. GameChanger
A question:
On the built in mic, can it be EQ inside the display?
If they had a 12v barrel out like the everse 8 then u could also power a high end mic system
Yeah. Been chatting with there tea
If the microphones were good and they also came with both black and white microphone cover options would be even better! White speaker + white microphone + white microphone stand would be 🔥
If they upgrade the mics I would be all in.

What do you think about - VONYX 170.104 VX1000BT or VONYX VX1050BT?
Why wouldn’t they just upgrade the Maui 5 go?
Not sure
My only issue so far is those lead acid batteries, I believe that by now at lease lipo stack battery pack or lithium batteries, lead acid has a very short shelf life.
+1 This. Lead-acid in 2024? Seriously?
So if one battery drains will it switch to the new battery automatically? Or do you have to stop the music?
You have 20+ hours of battery on the speaker. If you really need more than that bring a jacker
@@DJRickWeb oh wow! Well I’m sure it’s less if you go higher in volume and bass. So more like 5-6hours
Could you use lapel mics instead of hand held?
Yes they have them as well
Wow I love it
I'm torn between this and the soundboks 4
They should just leave a half rack space open. Let us put in the ewdx and it would be perfecto
That be a solid idea
Everse 8 vs Anny 10 how about that???
Sound wise any 10
Nice 👍🏽

I remember when Webb bought his own gear and talked shit about sub par products. Now everything LD systems produces is pure gold to him.
So like saying that it has crap mics is calling it gold? Speaker wise though it sounds amazing
On a side note LD has only ever sent me this speaker. We have bought over 20k of there speakers because they are the best column arrays on the market for events right now.
Looks like one of those SD card slot speakers 😂
if they put better mics on that unit, the price will shoot to the roof!
Wow. Lead-acid batteries? Hard pass.
Hello

Well seeing that the 2 microphones I use at weddings that scan are $1800 with no speaker or mixer that be a steal
Those mics seem unnecessary
Those mics are the reason why I'm buying a set.
Too much crammed into one speaker.
Anny thing but this.
