I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!

You know what's the best part of Kylie? that she ALWAYS sings live, ALWAYS on all her tours, all her shows, all her tv performances, ALWAYS, she never lip syncs, and she has an amazing voice. A reaction to her Crying Game Ballad would be fantastic. It is the strongest performance I think I've seen of hers, and one of the strongest of any vocalist!
I get goosebumps every time I hear that last high note. I actually went and bought the single after watching this. So campy, but so fun. And, a very good performance. I’ve found that I sometimes like her live performances better because her voice isn’t as affected by the production of the studio recording.
I love Kylie and her songs 😊 But I don't agree with you that she always sings live. There have been pre-recorded songs to pretend that she is live :) There are moments of her voices without singing into her microphone 🙃
I was actually shocked when I saw her perform this live. We all know she has made great catchy pop music, but her head voice at the end highlights that she's very underrated.
When I was young I didn’t realise it was her! Thought it was an opera singer! But when she did it live on the Showgirl tour I was LIVING. She’s incredible.
Kylie takes her artistry very seriously and sings and performs live all the time. Her pure pop voice and charisma is what fills the concerts with what the world needs more of ❤🙏

Kylie really is the perfect popstar, over 30 years in the music business, still having # 1 albums, sold out tours. When you hear a Kylie song you know it’s her straight away. People underestimate her voice but having seen her live so many times over the years she knows her strengths & always puts in an amazing show. She certainly shows new artists coming through how it’s done.

I saw her 3 times live already. All live, nothing lip synced. She's just a sweetheart, and a good singer as well.
I was around 13 when Kylie released her 1st album and I must say I hated her and her music at the beginning. I was a big Madonna's fan, so you know. Over the years I learnt to appreciate Kylie's vocal abilities, classy sexiness and her friendly attitude towards the fans.
I try to go and see her live performance whenever she's around (and sometimes "around" means hundreds of kilometers and going to a neighboring country). I never left the venue disappointed. And what I love the most about her? She always smiles, hence her nickname: Smiley Kylie. It's plain to see she truly enjoys her job. And this is pure gold.

Kylie is brilliant! She's an excellent showgirl and has some of the best high notes in the industry.
When Kylie came to perform in the US, I saw her twice. I hate when people say she can't sing, which is not the case. She sings live during every show and while she doesn't always hit the notes, vocally she sounds way better than some of these current dime store divas

Kylie has possibly the most technically consistent voice in pop music. Her operatic range is outstanding. Now the fans have confirmation from a vocal coach :). Please review Come on Strong for her deeper voice.

I've seen Kylie so many times live and still a lot of people don't realise that she sings all of her performances life. She certainly isn't a powerhouse singer but she surely can sing live. BTW: I was there at the RAH; was such a special concert to witness :-)

I've seen Kylie live many times over many years and she puts on such a great show- so reliable and consistent. She does sing live and very well at that! My friends I took to her last Golden Tour in Manchester were SHOCKED at how good she was! Thanks for reviewing her.
She is technically not an outstanding singer BUT her tone is very suitable for pop songs AND she always has good control of her voice. I can't remember hearing her crack and singing wrong in any live performance. She is a great live entertainer.

Kylie is the most consistent voices in pop music. Knowing exactly what her voice can do and delivering every single time. I'm the US--thankfully I got the chance to see Kylie a few years ago in Boston--it was brilliant.
I've been to a live concert of hers. She holds everybody in the palm of her hand with the whole performance. Yes she does get a whole arena Singing along in full disco mode and transfix everyone with a gentle lullaby.

I saw her in a VERY small venue at the Hard Rock In Orlando Florida USA for her Aphrodite tour in 2012.. the show was very much condensed but even so, she was absolutely ELECTRIFYING and she preformed just as amazing as if she was in a arena.
when i saw her live i was very surprised what an excellent vocalist she is. all-around performer, very entertaining as all proven in this vid. the ending vocal run woo, excellent.
Kylie is underrated i think, there are not many artists who would sing that ending unless they are known for those notes, this wasn't the full capacity to which kylie has performed the ending, i think with either the kiss me once tour or the itunes festival to promote kiss me once she asks the audience if they wanna go opera and she goes full opera singer :D

I really love Kylie, she's a very underrated singer! Beautiful tone and brilliant control over her instrument. Even when she goes high up into the 5th and 6th octaves she kills it! I'd love to see more reactions to Kylie for sure :)

Yeah I agree, her natural tone doesn’t do much for me either but she is pretty consistent live and doesn’t rely on playback, if you compare her with similar artists to her (Madonna, Britney) I think she’s the most likeable personality wise and the strongest singer. I do think her head voice is impressive, it’s beautiful.

Correction: she's better live. The style of the music she does is more about the production and heavy use of electronica, there's not a lot of space for her voice there. But when she goes onto the stage, that's a different story. This is where she proudly shows what she can. I managed to make a couple of people Kylie's huge fans after taking them with me to see her live. ;)

I love that you chose this song with the high notes at the end, although she ALWAYS nails the final note - I think the delay and reverb effect was put on the note in post production to make it sound even ‘more’. It wasn’t needed.
She hits a controlled E or Eb higher than that in the locomotion performance for the Christmas shows, with no effect and it’s pure goosebumps.
Like you said, this song doesn’t have much light and shade and doesn’t showcase her dynamically - maybe another Kylie video could be done where you look at a song (like The Crying Game medley) where she has to use a lot more technique?

I love Kylie!!! For 20 years now, she has been my teen idol. I'm tiny too, but my voice isn't that high in pitch at all and my tone is much darker, but she has still been a huge inspiration and YES, she can sing live!!!
