Pegs! What a brilliant idea so simple yet effective 😊
Thank you Andy
Just sat down for a cup of tea and a crumpet in the garden and up you popped. Learning about blanching. Every day is a school day, thanks Ivan
Sounds good Thank you
Thanks for the update Ivan, great tip.
Thank you Sheila
I had a go at growing cauliflower last year. The florets sort of parted from each other and some had yellow crowns. Thank you for the top tips Ivan. 🙏
Thank you Irene
I love cauliflower, & spring cabbage my favourites, I'm only just getting tomatoes now, I've took all the lower branches off to help the plants, I'm hoping this lovely sun we're getting will help to bring them along. Thanks for the update Ivan ..
Yes we are doing the same Thank you Carol
Thanks Ivan, the tip about using pegs on the caulis looks like a great idea and the "Basket of Fire" chilli plant is supposed to be an ideal one to grow indoors as they are a very bright and colourful plant to have as an indoor plant. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thank you Stevie
Ivan. I look so forward to seeing your short videos each day....information is so helpful thank you
Thank you too much appreciated
Really useful tip ! Now I know why Caulis have those tough leaves
Thank you Shirley
Thank you for the time to produce these video`s . New to allotment growing and only started mid season so always playing catch up but enjoying and learning loads :)
Great stuff and Thank you
I've got an aztec micro dwarf tomato plant & I've removed some foliage so it can breath. Loads of flowers but no fruit set yet.
It's our first year growing lots of different things. Trust us to drop on a year like this
Stick at it and all will come good
Thank you
Excellent my cauliflower has a tinge of purple. Not sure if it’s the variety type or a deficiency . It’s pegged up now. It’s my first ever grown cauliflower so really appreciate the tip. Also top tip with my greenfly infested chilli plant. Cheers Ivan
Thank you much appreciated
Good idea, thank you.
How do you keep slugs off your plants please?
We have not really seen any this year but we bought all new compost so that helped slugs are a pain and a constant battle too so pellets beer traps and rough ground will help deter them Thank you Christine
I just binned my cauliflower because they went an unappetising colour. Next year I'll now know what to do. Just wondering how the sweetcorn you planted is getting on? Is it thriving? I only tried a few for the first time but I'm thrilled with the. Such lovely plants. They're in a container behind my greenhouse as I have no soil so I wasn't sure how they would do. I don't know if they will produce but I'm thrilled.
Hi Flossy the sweetcorn is very slow growing due to being put in later than normal
good idea about the pegs ...what do u do with all the used compost do u reuse it to grow more plants
Hi yes i will remove any roots then amend with fish blood and bone to reuse
Hi ivan just a quick question. With round carrots do you need to thin out, or will they separate like beetroot does? This is the first time I've grown round carrots. Thanks for videos 😊
Hi Joan i did not thin mine and they did really well
Thank you
Ivan have you considered setting up a Patreon, Ko-fi or buymeacoffe account?
Never really thought about it but Thank you
