Governments come and go from party to party. But never in my life have I witnessed such a precipitous decline in my personal standard of living or the general standard of living of what I can witness in my community after this government from the previous. The damage inflicted on this country by this government is irreversible.

My pension does not even come close to paying my rent, and that leaves nothing for food or anything else ! I have no cable TV and even a short local holiday is out if the question.

Unfortunately, all our politicians are only talking about affordability problem, in reality, they are more concerned about real estate prices going down. It is a card tower capable of burying entire economy not just someone’s political career. Nobody wants to deal with all the mess, so they play “chicken” game kicking the can further down the road.

Personally I blame the Banks, Developers and Realtors for the spike in housing costs! They artificially jacked up prices, while still having low downpayments. Perhaps if the Bank of Canada had raised interest rates earlier or even THREATENED to do so prices might have stayed down
