Can we appreciate the fact that Katheryn Beaumont still managed to maintain her Wendy and Alice voices despite her age when the first Kingdom Hearts game came out?
@@DaffierPig6843It is Josh Gad, it’s just that his voice in KH3 is more based on the Japanese voice actors performance from the Japanese version of KH3 rather than the original film, but some cutscenes of Olaf did had Gad sound like how Olaf sounded in the movie.
I love it when these voice actors come back years after the original movie for sequels/spin-off media. Almost 30 years since the Disney renaissance ended and many voice actors (e.g Scott Weigner, Linda Larkin, Ming-Na Wen) still return. Simply amazing.
A part of me wonders what those recording sessions must be like, especially for characters who get to interact with substantial parts of the KH world outside their home franchise.
This is one of the BEST things about the franchise, they’re able to get as many of the original voice actors as possible to reprise their roles and even if the originals don’t return they get their best sound alikes to fill in
Great video. but there's a couple things I noticed. Tate Donovan also voiced Hercules in Kingdom Hearts 3 but that's not listed in that section. And I think young Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa used archived audio. If that technically counts then James Earl Jones should be on here too because that was archived audio too X) *Edit:* I just saw that you weren't counting archived audio. So those three shouldn't count either lol
I totally messed up on that Hercules part. Thanks for catching that. As for Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa I wasn't entirely sure if they were archived or not. So, I ended up including them in the final video but I'm honestly not too surprise since it seemed too good to be true for the original voice actors to be able to reprise their roles perfectly.
@@BriskApollo Also they were kids when they did those lines in the movie so I assume they're archived. And I doubt they got sound-alikes for those small throw away bits X)
In 1988, Jim Cummings took over the role of both Pooh and Tigger. As of today, he is the official voice actor for both of them but back in 1977 when the first Pooh movie was released; they were voiced by Sterling Holloway (Pooh) and Paul Winchell (Tigger). Holloway had passed before KH1, but Winchell was alive until 2005. Assumedly, they probably just went with Cummings instead of Winchell since Cummings was already voicing Pooh and was the new official voice actor for Tigger. The remaining cast had mostly passed away except for Clint Howard (Roo) and Howard Morris (Gopher). Roo didn't have any voice lines until KH2, but Howard would have been in his 40s at the time and def wouldn't have worked as Roo's voice actor. Gopher on the other hand debuted in KH2, but Morris would have been in his 80s so they probably did the same thing they did with Tigger and went with the newest voice actor which was Michael Gough. Fun fact about Michael Gough is that he voices Shrek whenever Mike Meyers wasn't able to do the role, mostly the video games. So, Shrek is somewhat in KH the same way Homer Simpson is with his voice actor (Dan Castellaneta) being Genie in KH1 & KH2 lol
Afaik there is a rule at disney were they have to ask the original va if they want to voice the character again. This is why SE had to ask everyone and this is how they got the original VA for alice, despite her age
I'm curious where you draw the line between a character's original voice and just their official voice For instance, using Piglet - yeah, KH1 was one of John Fiedler's last times voicing the character, but in subsequent appearances, he's voiced by Travis Oates, who does the voice in all other licensed works including the character of Piglet You also make the curious choice to note Wayne Allwine, Tony Anselmo, and Bill Farmer as Mickey/Donald/Goofy, but you exclude Bret Iwan's performances as Mickey. But none of them are the *original* voices of the characters, all of whom were dead before Kingdom Hearts was an idea in anyone's mind (hell, in Mickey's case, that would be Walt Disney)
I went with whatever the first time that character was voiced in a movie Think my mindset with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy was using Three Musketeers as “their movie” but in reality I should of just not included them 😅
@@BriskApollo Fair enough honestly, to go with Three Musketeers for its DDD appearance, in which case Bill Farmer and Tony Anselmo would've applied for Goofy and Donald. I suppose that just creates the weird case of since in-universe, it's a different Mickey from the main KH Mickey and Allwine had died by then, you'd just have to exclude him
What about Zeus from Olympus? I know that he was voiced by Rip Torn in the original film, but Corey Burton voiced Zeus in the subsequent television series.
The archived audio that I came across in my research in this video were Mufasa, Young Simba, and Boo Unsure if Young Anna, Young Elsa, and Young Rapunzel were archived or not
Wait so are the voice lines for the rest of the winnie the pooh characters reused or are the just really convicing sound alikes, cause jim cummings is already in so many of these games
I was going off the characters' first 1977 movie (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh) where Sterling Holloway voiced Pooh Jim Cummings started voicing him in 1988 in The New Adventure of Winnie the Pooh Piglet's voice actor was the only one from the first 1977 who reprised his role
Can we appreciate the fact that Katheryn Beaumont still managed to maintain her Wendy and Alice voices despite her age when the first Kingdom Hearts game came out?
Deep Space and Arendelle are the only Disney worlds where every character is voiced by their original voice actors from the movies.
Olaf doesn’t sound the same for some reason

Shoutout to Jason Alexander for coming back for kh DDD
Surprised Piglett was the only Pooh character. Pooh himself and Tigger were convincing
