After 9 years in Holland it’s so funny to see this topical party, everyone sitting around the living room, and then I imitated my husband and went around shaking every single person’s hand, introducing myself and congratulating them on someone else’s birthday, so funny, and totally unlike what I was used to. With relatives or people we are closer to, we do indeed kiss three times. It’s a lot of kissing confusion for me as in Colombia we only kiss once but also people we are meeting for the first time. And in América if it’s the first time I think we don’t touch at all! And in Mozambique, where I lived before Holland, you kiss twice, hahaha! Lots of confusion, but again great video, I loved it!!

I was so surprised when someone came to congratulate me for my husband’s birthday. Having bread for lunch is so particular here ... The parties where everyone is just sitting need a bit of sparkling moments ... dutch people are so friendly but more animation in certain social moments would be amazing ....
Funny, as a kid, my Oma and Opa in the Netherlands thought I was nuts for putting peanut butter on bread. But that was in the 80s. I guess times have changed and pindakaas is now appreciated.

Monday early morning I sent a message to a Dutch friend of mine if we could meet the same day or maybe later on Sunday. It felt silly to try to make a last minute appointment, but anyway I tried. I was shocked when she agreed to meet the very same day, meeting within 6 hours of asking :D

Ja in Nederland is dat normaal :) en we drinken er gemiddeld 2,4 per dag! Het meeste ter wereld
Vragen naar salaris vind ik wel heel persoonlijk hoor! Een normaal Nederlands antwoord op die vraag kan zijn 'dat gaat je niks aan' ;-)
