The 'lights' were Starlink satellites. They glowed from the sun reflecting off them. If you watch, they will go through the colors of the light spectrum reflected off the panels. They disappear when the satellites move past where they reflect.
Watching these satellites in a straight line for the first time can be mind blowing. The most I have seen in sequence is 15. I fly for the airlines and will come across the Starlink Satellites about once a month. Love your videos guys!
You two are true sailors. Doing it old school hank on proves that! (Either that or a roller is unaffordable!🤣) Beau is creative in his solutions and Brandy, besides being gorgeous, is one hell of a sailor. My favorite part of your boat is the fabric on the under side of your Bimini! I have sailed the world, but you guys make me look like a piker, doing it in a minimalist way. I really enjoyed the long form videos. Gives more of a taste of the real life on the ocean. It’s a tough life, but it’s one we choose for the serenity. Be safe, and Fairwinds.
So inspirational. We planning on leaving Florida this fall. Boat ready or not we are going. Iv learned if you need to get the boat ready it will never be ready. I hope our paths cross soon. Hope the winds stay in your favor. Stay safe.
thank you so much and you are so correct. were we ready to leave for the bahamas the first go round, no. do we STILL feel like we are ready no, but here we are almost 6 years later. YOU GOT THIS!! (strong anchor and chain recommended :)
True sailors. Another great episode. Brandy…you’re not just a pretty face, you are a true salt. Beau…your get it done ability is apparent. Your care for Brandy is evident. I think Brandy trusts you, just my observation. Fair winds mate. Dan, the original swab.
That was a wonderful episode full of beautiful sailing and wave sounds. Thx for helping this poor sleep deprived insomniac start to fall asleep!! You rock 🤗💞
Hey Guys !!!!! "May never return aboard Saoirse " That sounds like the end of an era!! Bless you both and Una too! I have loved following your travels since your first Gulf Stream crossing. Fair winds good people!
Whats up guys!!!!!! Its Dano from Orlando!!! How are both of you? Great video. I wanted to say Winter Garden missess you all. hahahhaha. Have a great night!!!
Howard Hitch reminds me of a fishing knot we used a lot. 15:58 I'm think this was the latest starlink satellites group. I saw it once, they weren't green, ran to get my camera and they had already disappeared !
Love it B & B! Sailing across from Port Stanley Ontario to Ashtabula OH (its only 50 miles) the black flies are viscous. A fledgling tagged along one year the whole trip & cleared the Nonsuch bow to stern, even hopped into the cockpit and onto our laps. We named him Stanley. Memories!
That was such a good video, I also wanted to go and sleep. Man, Bo you are a strong man. And Brandy I love the way you handle the boot, and your team spirit is so motivating. Thanks for sharing this with us. Especially the drone shots give us a great opportunity to experience the whole atmosphere.
It’s nasty weather and no sailing where I live. Nice to be with u on this sail. I was the same way the first time I saw the star link satellite train. Thanks for a very peaceful sail. 🇨🇦
Hi Beau and Brandy that’s one thing I like about your channel you change your side to do this and you go and do it fantastic you’re not on the schedule you just go and do what you want to do , it’s always good to see you together. The love you have for each other is incredible. Keep up the good work I always enjoy your videos Cliff from Australia.
Hello my dear friends…. Hoping your sail back is smooth… hoping you’ll decide to bring the boat up towards St Augustine… there’s a great little birdie hole there on the St John River near Rivers Edge marina… a lot of cruisers tucked in for the hurricane season… Be safe love you guys. ❤❤
Nice sail. You really need to sort out the autopilot problems and fix them. An autopilot is three extra crewmembers who you only have to feed voltage. When you have to hand steer for days fatigue will cause a safety issue. I had a bulletproof hydraulic AP that even steered in heavy seas downwind. If I had made offshore passages I would have had 2 APs, they are that important.
Loved this episode, you really captured the reality of life at sea, the ups and downs, the fatigue, the exhilaration, and the final reward of arrival. Thank you so much for bringing us along!
"Wide open spaces".....thanks Beau, that song is totally stuck in my head right now. You brought me back to the old karaoke days! 🤠 That was great that Chas. Dickens snatched the horsefly for dinner.
im with curt on this one but ive seen lots of starlinks the wierd thing is they arent green at least where i saw them they were like a non colored christmas lights. also there were 50-60 of those lights and disappeared in the same spot.
The lights def retreating alien craft. Took a few shots at flash Gordon and hit that feild of Bahama Mamja- set it all afire. you guys prly can't smell it anymore but I can see the haze around the boat.
That is the starlink satellites they fly in a long line and there is 2 of them. You can google it it’s an arrow in the sky that fly across the earth. I seen them above Wyoming at night
If you’re heading into Islamorada you will be north of my boy and daughter-in-laws place. They live in Marathon. We enjoy flying down every year from here in Indiana lol
Starlink: they travel in a line as you described and then disappear at the same point: the point in which the sun reflection is blocked by the curve of the Earth. I have seen this as well.
Great job. One small thing, when going wing and wing...or just running dead down wind, you might consider letting your main out a little more, almost put the main up against the spreaders. Not a big deal, but I know you were looking for all the speed you could get.
Starlink Satellites, when recently launched, line up in a straight line until each reaches its designated orbit. Lights you see are reflected light from sun that disappears once the origin of the light no longer is available. Not ufos.
Beau & Brandy I was trying to look up the fire in Nassau and found this weird/interesting. Look at the time frame. Major Fire Downtown Nassau 3,222 forum posts 13 years ago Just in case your on one of the ships in port this morning. A major fire has closed nearly everything on Bay Street. The port authority is not allowing passengers to leave their ships. The fire has consumed the block where the Bacardi store is located. And the local news is showing live scenes, and it appears the fire is now spread to the Bacardi store. The fire is so large, that every fire unit on the island and airport has been dispatched. More info as I get it. So they had a similar fire 13 yrs ago that’s crazy
I sailed one week in the Stockholm archipelago (last week) and I have sunburns on my knee and every other part of my skin that's been exposed (I used sunscreen, but I guess not covered enough). I never paid attention to your skin, and how good it looks while being out there, until now. What is your secret? What sunscreen do you use?
Have you guys heard my pid with Catherine Lawson? She did a "cookbook" callled the hunter and the gatherer sndnits got all sorts of sprouting and foraging and alternative substitutions for sugar and such. Shes a cruiser in the far pacific. Check it out. 👽🛸🤖👾
Kale! I’d rather eat KELP than KALE. Kale is for prisoners…🧐 If not for the aforementioned foraging faux pas, this episode would be considered among the most epic for the dreamy visuals painted with a remarkable pallet of colors buoyed with audio that caressed the back of the mind like a brood of baby bunnies napping around my head. General consensus seems to be starlink, but how far out from land are you? If the lights are in a line following each other, then dissappear at same point, I've seen this before, it was planes lining up to land, then they turn to make final approach. When you're offshore with less light pollution, you can see thing not possible on shore.
I read a science fiction book called Hunters of the Red Moon long ago. It started with a solo sailor off the west coast of the US who gets abducted off his boat by aliens. Just saying...
The 'lights' were Starlink satellites. They glowed from the sun reflecting off them. If you watch, they will go through the colors of the light spectrum reflected off the panels. They disappear when the satellites move past where they reflect.

The fire was a brushfire, the green lights were probably Starlink satellites

Sounds like one of many Starlink launches from Canaveral. They appear as bright trailing lights exactly as you describe.

Definitely a string of new starlink satellites...... Newly launched and not spread out yet..... Have seen it before.....
How often do you run the generator?
That probably starlink sattelites.
Thanks for a great ride.
Your sighting was probably a Starlink satellite group after launch and deploy…they travel in a line…
Starlink: they travel in a line as you described and then disappear at the same point: the point in which the sun reflection is blocked by the curve of the Earth. I have seen this as well.
Starlink!!

What an adventure
Sounds like a starlink satelite formation
I think those lights were the Starlink satellites. The satellites are low orbit so that's why you see them.
What's the name of the sunbrella pattern on your bimini? Absolutely love it! Florida has destroyed my cheap Amazon one. Starlink?
The green lights were Starlink, update weather.
