Good video, but you should be sure to let people know what some of the downsides are to certain actions. For example, increasing your prosperity also applies a negative modifier to disease resistance. The more prosperous a county, the more likely a disease will pop up or spread into it (number of people in your court plays a factor, too). A mercenary company applies a negative modifier to the size of your levy. The "Greedy" trait has a high risk of developing the "Stressed" trait, which often kills characters (having Content characters in your court can help remove stressed and depressed). Etc., etc. Also, it's extremely lucrative to keep imprisoning vassals when your spymaster discovers plots. Arrest them, then ransom them off. Yeah, they'll hate you, but if they rebel against you and you have Title Revocation allowed, siege all their holdings, ransom captives, imprison the leader, revoke their titles, and replace them with someone else (or give duchy titles to a count inside the duchy, who will them attempt to revoke their county title). New happy vassals to imprison for more coin and lulz. :D Arumba did that during one of his "Lets Plays". Just kept imprisoning, revoking, and banishing vassals to pay for his mercenaries in wars. LOL
+Midyas Mikari LOL. Np. Just don't get too carried away with it. If you keep throwing all your vassals in prison and taking their money, the holdings will never get improved unless you do it yourself. It's handy for when you really, really need the ducats (which is why Arumba was doing it - he needed mercenaries for a war, but was running out of money to keep paying them). :) ua-cam.com/video/T8GIvDWTvKg/v-deo.html -- Not the actual video of him doing it; which I was trying to find but couldn't, but still a funny compilation.
I would recommend going on a crusade (if you can as your country) I was playing as a duke of England and only had enough ships to send 400 men but I got an artifact, nearly 700 gold and a lot of piety and prestige doing it, and that is only with less than 400 men, if you can send a lot more you can get a whole lot out of the crusade, assuming you win
I sent 1500 men on a crusade, and for some reason became the king of the Kingdom of Jerusalem and got 5000 gold... It was on my first playthrough and I had no clue what was in store for me >.
Advance guide, create a shit tons of city vassal. Imprison them when possible, banish them you will find so many gold laying around. Attack larger realms and wait for their reconquest, hire mercs to beat them. I’ve done plenty WC starting as count using this strategy.
Solid video, lotta good suggestions here. Though ransoming prisoners typically doesn’t pay much so I rarely bother with it and just let them die in the dungeon or execute them later.
+Nao Shadowpaws Depends on the prisoner. Courtiers are only worth 10 ducats. But, barons are like 25 or 26, Counts are 70, Dukes are 145, and Kings are worth 250. Never captured an Emperor, so don't know how much they're worth, but it's definitely higher than a king's ransom. Even if I hit 100% Warscore, if I'm not running a negative income per month, I'll just keep sieging holdings for the bonus gold and all the money-bags (captives). The gold gained from the siege, as well as the prestige and military tech points are well worth it, especially early game. I'll often capture 6 - 20 people in a mediocre war. Even if they're all just courtiers, it's still 200 ducats (essentially a free low-to-mid tier holding improvement). If they can't be ransomed, I let 'em rot unless I'm Pagan. If you're Pagan, lots of prestige from sacrifices. Prestige = better tribal holdings and raising tribal armies for my next major wars, where I'll rinse and repeat. :D
RiftZM I don’t know, 250 gold or letting them die in a cold, dark dungeon? Gonna have to go with dungeon. Until I oubliette them later. Or hold a Great Blot and have them killed for the greater glory of Odin. The people do love me more when we have a blot and who am I to deny my people?
Go in ANY crusade anywhere even with a small army. Get stuck in the fight. Attach yourself to other crusader armies. In the end youll get money based on your contribution in the crusade. There re usually ridiculous amount of money. The most i got was around 8000 gold
im playing 769 on ireland and i have become king of aire. but my vassals and me are tribal so i get pathetic money like 1 per month. but my army is so huge like 4k without vassal tribes help and other lords in britain are so weak, so i just made them all tributaries and they just gave it without a fight literally. come viking age and when they landed on england i helped my tributaries, but my king died on a duel while fighting, 51 years of age. now all tributaries are gone and my land split into three, fucking gavelkind. i also just made my next king feudal, but it greatly reduced my army to 1.4k and income to like 3 per month, compared to tributaries which was like 10 per month. i also noticed that becomimg feudal reset all my buildings on my holding, so it will take a long time to build them again. is it better i stay tribal?
Its okay. I managed to find one. It was about creating merchant republics within your realm. But i might comeback to this video once i get some dlc. :D
Go crusades in holy Roman empire go first crusade self crusade and rest reciepiants had 12k wealth during my both leads and had like 5 kingdoms or 4 that I had all Christians scared to point they all made defense pacts against me xd
Just marry, collect dowry, imprison and execute wife, get married again, collect dowry, imprison and execute wife, rinse and repeat. Everyone will hate you but once you pass they should be chill with your son so you'll be the new king and rich.
If you can, Paradox is allowing you to essentially "rent" all of the DLCs for $5 a month. Normally, I'd say this is dumb, but considering CK3 is out, it's better than paying hundreds of dollars for DLCs to an older version of a game.
Make sure your heir is trained by a genius - preferably with the Midas perk. Also, bethroal your heir when he is young with a genius girl. At least she will get minimum 8 i stewardship caused by genius perk.
@@crunchyandmagnificent5646 But beginners don't have all DLCs... or any DLCs, really. Tips for the base game only would have been much more helpful. But I guess Crusader Kings 2 base game without any DLCs can't be called a game :'(

Make a bank before become feudal, you can try rainding too. invest in Walls and Towns building, this increases the tax income.
Make the most out of raiding while still tribal, then go feudal or mercantile.
Crusader Kings II is basically Farmville: Medieval Edition.
nice effort. really appreciate it
I'm -42 and losing 1.84 a month
Thanks my ex taught me this game a couple years ago and i want to play it again but forgot some things.
Good tips!
I dont have the decisions about borrowing money or expelling jewery. I also dont have the tributary cassus belli. Which DLC do I need for those?
maybe sons of abraham, would say
sons of abraham - that's the one I have and it works...
thanks a lot for the info.
