❤ Beautiful song! I love this band! As a woodswoman who walks the forest all the time, their music is just as soothing and healing as the fresh, earth filled air, the sounds of the cool water creeks, and the sunlight illuminating the leaf covered ridges. Such peace. ❤
The level of respect I have for you guys is immeasurable as artists. The conviction it takes to change names and 're-brand', so to speak, speaks volumes about your vision and how true to it you want to stay. I can understand completely the desire to make the change. We were all very different over 10 years ago. But actually doing so as you have done is rare due to fear. Keep writing music forever please. I will support and listen to you forever. You are true artists and musicians. Your live set is still the best show I've ever been to and is burned into my memory.
Your music has saved my life (literally! ) my past almost made my future come to a very quick end. But I found happiness in the toughest of times, The music you write is a mosaic of your past I just feel it in the lyrics. And no matter the name change I will always follow you, Thank you Watchhouse for everything.
My son has been battling cancer since Jan 2021...this song encapsulates perfectly the feeling we have for our children. Thank you for your beautiful music. It's been incredibly cathartic for me during our treatment.
This is the most anticipated release of the year, for me anyway. I think i've listened to them every day since spring 2020, and when i'm not listening to them I'm playing their music on my guitar...
@@DoDifferent yikes it went from a fun name to something much more meaningful and serious that reflects the direction that their music is at now. Let’s embrace it and encourage the band on this next step in their career and music
Beautiful. Also, really appreciate the "taking back control of this thing" on the website, and appreciate we get to share the fruits of your work. Another benefit: old fans get to become new fans :)
[Verse 1] We settled in for the winter The cast in our lives found a new star And all of our remaining hours Were bundled up tight and placed in our arms [Chorus] Someday we'll be older Our eyes may cry Look what's become of me and my former Steal away, steal away, remember At least we're all here together [Verse 2] Finding our way as a teacher Stumbling along a little unrested If only one lesson could rеach her She'll know our love could nеver be tested [Chorus] Someday she'll be older Our eyes may cry Look what's become of me and my former Steal away, steal away, remember At least we're all here together [Outro] At least we're all here together We settled in for the winter The cast in our lives found a new star
Spectacular! It's apparent there's so much love in this video. It illustrates the song beautifully, very well shot and directed. Plenty of familiar faces too!
Thank y'all for all the beautiful music! Especially thru these weird times! I think the name change is just fine! It's still y'all and great music you inspire me soo much I love playing my dulcimers to your music!!! THANK YOU
I thought, what with the tremendous talents you both have grown and developed over the past, it would only be a matter of time. Song Poetry! And you are so good with it! Not since my turn to grow up into the art form of the late 60’s-70’s when I first grew to understand. You’ve arrived. And I like your name. Sparklers in a dance circle. Cool!
My life flashed before me as I watched this video and listened to this lovely music. I remembered my family gatherings and celebrations. You always find a way to touch my heart through your art! Thank you for the wonderful music!! 👍👍👍👍👍
As the father of a 13 year old daughter who won't speak to me - hasn't spoken to me in a year on account of lies her mother has poisoned her brain with - this song is breaking my heart. 😞
Thank you for expressing so honestly and beautifully what so many of us sensitive hearts feel from day to day. I'm also sooo happy to see your Sylvan Esso friends enjoying being together in this poignant video! Hoping you two get to San Diego someday soon.
So, we are surfing around on UA-cam looking for our usual work music, which includes a whole lot of MO, when this song comes on. My head swung up and my eyes closed, and I was elsewhere. I asked who it was and then asked, is this Mandolin Orange? Google, Google, and well, yes and no. If there ever was a song I’d describe as reminiscence, this is it. I can feel the hope and the soft acceptance here. The flow of life. I can hear my parents in this song, and me. I can hear humanity. Wow. Just wow! Please come back up to Alaska so I can hear you live and maybe sing along❤️
Mandoline Orange or Watchhouse, never mind. The brilliant music and his awesome interpretations are there. Can't get enough of you guys. Thank you so much for all your incredibly touching music. Can't wait to see you guys live again, after Stockholm and Gent, which where both woooooow
This is just so, so beautiful ... it oozes love! Thank you so much for the joy that run from my head to my toes every time that I listen to your music.
The thing about your music is it is so exquisitely crafted. Witnessing a video and a song for the first time feels like a real experience. Endless gratitude for your art. ❤️

Great new song! I was a bit sceptical about the name change, as many of your fans, but aren't we all a bit reluctant when it comes to change something? Saw you live in Munich two years ago, and I still have fond memories . Keep on!
Good grief how did I miss this? Molly Sarlé and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig were in the video! I got to talk to Molly while she was setting up for a show at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapawha, NC. Molly is such a sweet, wonderful person. It was a pleasure chatting with her.
That is Molly Sarlé from the band Mountain Man. Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, also from Mountain Man, and Nick from Sylvan Esso are also in there. There are probably more awesome musicians in the video, but those are all that I spotted.
@@fatmanmanfredjinsinjin7946 I actually meant the dog (unbearably cute to me), but I have to thank you for turning my attention to Sauser-Monning and Sarlé. Sarlé's performance of Human on Tiny Desk?! Wild and right that these beautiful human beings (and accompanying dogs) all move in the same circles.
I love it guys!!! Looking forward to hearing your new album in August!! Congrats on the name change and the new beginning. The alone time in the cabin sounds like a turning point for you all.I'll always love the older music and will continue on with the new. :) Thanks for your beautiful music.Take care..prayers and love..Cathy and Molly(my adopted filly)
Can't help but wonder where Amelia is! I see Nick, Molly, and Alexandra. Also, so lovely to see so many of my favorite musicians loving being alive together
I noticed that too. It's awesome. I actually tweeted them a couple years ago and told them they should make like a North Carolina supergroup. Cool to see them hanging out. Maybe some music collabs will come next...
Names can change but the quality remains the same. Bought tears to my eyes, not sure what the video is about but it made me think how important friends/family are during the pandemic...especially when our UK government is peddling fear and propaganda. Beautiful track.
Maybe it's just me, but this song is tugging at me, at my heart, at all the things I've missed because of mistakes I made along the way. At least I'm not numb to what might have been had I only known....but, since I can't go back I can only say, love like there's no tomorrow...
Yup, sounds like Mandolin Orange. Can't wait for this new album under a new name! This was an absolutely beautiful song, if the rest of the songs are as good as this one, it could rival Tides of a Teardrop
Beautiful song! Full of hope, happiness and contentment. By the way, is amazing your courage to live Mandolin Orange somewhere on the road and move on to a Watchhouse from where you will gift us with new perspectives. Thank you for being in the soundtrack of my life!
Beautiful I love it this clip is also heartbreaking as we can't even have a dinner with close friends in those hard days of pandemic. Start to wonder if that will remain scenes of a gone for good past
Some of the best albums are slow burners. That's not a bad thing. This is a great one. Give this a few good listens. Name change not a problem. I'm watching this house still.
Surely, Jackson Browne and Watchhouse are in cahoots. Literally, my top two artists and they both released new music and videos today. I'm done for the day. I'm done.
Is that Nick from Sylvan Esso I see? Can we please please please get a collaboration of you guys!? Also, I am loving the new direction you are taking your music. Great as always and looking forward to whats to come. Thanks for bringing some magic to our lives.

Well said! It really speaks to their integrity as artists who are deeply committed to their craft.
Amen
Beautiful. As an older man, now with grandchildren, this brought a tear to my eye.
I’ll forever love the name mandolin orange but I’m here for the music which is still top notch
Yeah that's gonna be a hard one to get used to. Still the same people and that's what matters

same, same.
Same, same, same!
Breath of fresh air to the ears..and the soul.
Beautiful song
Still love the music. Waiting for the new name to grow on me.
I loved Mandolin Orange, but we’ll get over it I’m sure
Only the music matters...Mandolin Orange was a cool name though.
Same!
The name change reminds me of Jennifer Grey’s decision to get a nose job.
