Paris Vlog Day 1 | Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Christmas Market

- Welcome to (finally) a travel vlog!!
Due to the current state of the world, my boyfriend and I booked a VERY last minute vacation. In less than 5 days, we planned a trip overseas to France. We are staying for 5 days in Paris, 2 days in Strasbourg, and 3 days in Lyon! This is not my first time in Paris, but it is my first time in many years, and the longest stay in this beautiful city for myself. It was my boyfriend's first time in France, and this is our first time traveling together as a couple! Wow, all I can say is the vlogs will get better and better from here on out.
On this first day in Paris for us we were extremely jet lagged. After hopping off our 8hr flight with no sleep, we had a full day ahead of us. Traveling always brings us a new sense of purpose in life and so we pushed aside our (obvious) tiredness and lack of sleep to explore Paris. Before we could check into our boutique hotel, we decided to get lunch at a lovely bistro in Paris. This is the December season and so Onion soup is very comforting this time of year. The bistro (LE BISTROT DES GASCONS) we went into ended up getting extremely packed with locals, and I must say both the onion soup and beef tartare were delicious! House wine is a must with your meals here, as it is both good and affordable. We are staying in the 7th district of Paris which felt very safe for us, as well as very local to tourist sites such as the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysees! We visited La Tour Eiffel as it was a very important site to see on our first day. As it got dark out the tower illuminates and every 5 minutes of the hour it sparkles! Paris is really the city of lights and you can see why after having seen the Eiffel Tower sparkle! Speaking of lights, we also walks the Champs-Élysées and visited a beautiful Christmas market called The Magic of Christmas (la magie de noel) at the Tuileries Garden. It was a very action packed day where we walked around the city, taking in the sights and sounds of Paris. The vlogs from here on out will get better and better as we get a good nights sleep.
The next day is a day Nikita and I will never forget (the day of our proposal)! So stay tuned for the next vlog, as you don't want to miss that!! I am in the middle of the video but I'm going to comment now or I'm going to forget at the end. Everything up to this point looks amazing and I'm sure the whole way till the end of the video. I remember back in French class in high school our teacher took alot of them to Paris. I wish I could have went then the architecture and history is awesome

Thank you so much. I ran across this vlog doing research for our Paris trip next Christmas. We will celebrate my wifes 50th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. What could be a better place than Paris??? This seals the deal as it truly gives me a recent view into the life of Paris travelers and the expected crowds during the holiday period.

Aaw thank you 🥰 I talk about the hotel more in the next vlogs after we switched rooms, but it was the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel. Our first room was SO tiny, we upgraded in the next vlog and LOVED it!
My foodie friend I am so jealous! The food looked amazing and the Eiffel tower at night looked absolutely beautiful! But a Christmas time I thought the city was even more beautiful! Couple questions, what is the wine and the chocolate better than what you’ve had it? Also did you have a Lotta paperwork and testing to do to leave Canada and arrive in Paris or leave Paris?
Hi foodie friend!! You will see more and more food as we go, this is just the tip of the iceberg!! The wine is very good, but even in Italy it’s incredible, so hard to compare. The pastries hands down are better in France than Canada, that’s for sure!! As for the testing and all that, I’m thinking of making a video and answering some questions once all the vlogs are out, but there was a lot of testing, both before leaving Canada and before entering Canada which was very stressful.. I will continue to talk about it in my vlogs, especially on the last stop in Lyon (which is a foodie city by the way). So happy to see you here in the comments as always Richard!! @@ladolcelisa I thought so! I can guess what rooms/views you may be talking about, so can’t wait to see them on your Vlog. The 7th arrondissement has always been my favourite, the Invalides, Eiffel Tower, Musee Rodin and Rue Cler. You definitely picked the perfect place!
