use to play mafia plus gta online plus gta the series I enjoyed driving classic cars in mafia 1 and 2 and gta online and gta the series plus my farther was raised during the great depression in the state of Colorado he moved to San Francisco California way back sorry for getting off topic.
Fusion Kid, I love your videos!. You're bringing me down memory lane of all the TV shows I watched, andI alll the cars that I noticed on the shows. Thank You!
Teenage boys who watched this show probably didn't focus on the cars lol! Sally Field was so very cute! I'm glad to see these short clips that do focus on the cars.
Very nicely done. Thanks. I never saw the show, but this covers the best parts. Yes, it's true, in the 1960s in SoCal 73% of cars were convertibles, the rest were woodies or big honkin Ford or Mercury four door hard tops. The nearby country of Beverley Hills was only Continentals, Imperials, Eldorados or Rolls. 🚗
Not so much about cars, but apparently when the Baxters moved out of the "Hazel" house in 1965, Gidget and her father moved in (you can see the "Bewitched" house next door!)...
gcfifthgear And now all of it has been torn down and replaced by sound stages. It's the same back lot that they filmed National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and also all of the Lethal weapon movies.
This show is still kind of fresh + there are some nice Pontiacs and Mustangs. ABC canceled this show even though it performed well in summer reruns, rather than admitting their mistake Sally Field became the ‘Flying Nun’.
OMG! Right at the 1:20 mark of this video, the surfboard has the famous "Harbour Surfboards" logo. They are still in business in Seal Beach, CA, and use that exact same logo. Cool Rangoon Red 65 Mustang convertible, just before this scene, too.
There is a real Gidget, The real scene in SoCal was so much more fascinating than this TV show. Characters like Jan & Dean, Nancy Sinatra, the infamous prototypical blond beach girl Jill... a book called Hollywood Eden is a must read for a take on Uni High kids and the whole Beach scene of early 60s
From Australia. My dad aged 17 when looking around for his first car in early 1970 saw a 1955 Cadillac in a used car yard, way beyond his budget. In the same yard was a 1954 Ford Customline station wagon, dad wanted to test drive it but the battery was flat. "Please, can I drive it?", dad pleaded. "Okay", the dealer said, they had to push start it, "For heaven's sake don't stall it in the traffic", the dealer said. Apparently the car drove okay, but the flat head V8 looked a bit suspect, water and oil leaks or something. Another car dad test drove was a 1960 Ford Falcon sedan, 144 cubic inch six, two speed automatic, no thanks. The Ford station wagon? Oh to be able to go back in time and get it! What car did dad eventually buy? A worn out 1957 Mk2 Ford Zephyr for $195 (Australian)
This show never aired in the UK, but the scene of the Morris Minor being hitched to the Pontiac shows what geriatric rubbish we were driving when you Americans were scooting around in your enormous jet age dream machines 😏
A new Thunderbird was a welcome sight. So was a Dodge Charger fastback. Jeff treated Gidget right. Her sister was a bossy tyrant. Fiery Red vs Cordial Brown. Love Gidget even today. Naughty ABC wrecked that show.
That is a quest that always bothered me since I first saw this show in re-runs when I was a teen in the 1980s. None of the girls I went to school with had BFs nearly as old as Gidget`s!
Cars are why I watch old films.

I'm a 64 year old Southern California Native & this Collection of Classic Cars are Cool ... As Gidget would say, "Toodles" . . .
Sally Fields was so cute back then.
before she became a libtard

That 1936 Ford woody between the hearse and other woody was the original Monkeemobile in the premier episode.
Great job really enjoyed this one
Must be nice to be able to have a brand new car every year.
She was the cutest girl I loved her a little series she was just a little honey
Forget the cars -- the blonde shaking it up at 2:47 is amazing !
Gidget started many years before Sally Fields series with another actress..and i think a movie or two !

4:35 is that Daniel J. Travanti?
When Gidget went away and came back as a nun; she totally hated convertibles and go figure!
She would have flown out of a convertible...

@3:04 That's a '50 Ford not '51.

I can't even enjoy anything Sally Field is in anymore after she went all political. Ruined it for me, dangit.
