    Seeing Toby get dropped to the floor by a Secret Service agent, and then helped up by the same agent always makes me chuckle. “Mr. Ziegler…”

    This was one of my favourite episodes, not just because I love bottle episodes, but because subsequent viewings revealed more and we still don’t know for absolutely certain by the end whether it was a drill or if it was real. The last conversation between Ron and the President really throws you

      it wasnt a drill it was charlie if i remember correctly had brought in his mail... fidderer notices at the end that they are not playing with the decon and as has been stated in other episodes constantly telling your staff that people legitimately want to kill them is bad for morale

      I also liked that episode because it trapped people together like CJ and Donna that normally may not interact much and maybe been trapped together forced people to have honest conversation with each other.

      Toby could disagree, but he had no reason to raise his voice or shout. Exchange of opinions between adults requires some decorum.

    • @FriscoCatshark
      @FriscoCatshark 2 дні тому

      This is always my favorite take from people who can't think of a good point. "I dunno, that guy who was visibly upset raised his voice a little, what a jerk."
      Are you guys adults? Have you only ever spoken in a monotone, even, quiet volume your whole life? One of his former coworkers and trusted friends went behind his back and confirmed a speech that made the President look foolish. Toby is THE authority on communication and public faces in the White House and one of his juniors is acting like they know better and refusing to accept Toby's authority in the workplace. It's like if a head manager was getting backsassed by an assistant team lead.
      Of course he's shouting, he's livid. The only point he needs to make is "I'm your workplace superior, I make the call" and Will is refusing that and derailing the argument. Toby's point is that the VP embarrassed the President and made himself look foolish by bringing stilted, boring lecture to a comedic roast. Will knows Toby's correct, so he falls back on "Grrr you're just made the VP didn't tell your joke >:(" when that's never the point, because if he sticks to the actual point he knows Toby's right. That's why Toby gives up and tries to leave - he sees Will is being foolish and doesn't want the argument to devolve into something that would force Toby to take actual action.

      @@FriscoCatshark He's livid all the time.
      There's this quote from Justified (the TV show).
      You meet an arsehole, well, you met an arsehole.
      You meet five arseholes in a day, maybe you're the arsehole.
      Adults don't shout all the time. Children do.
      He couldn't make simple conversation - or read the riot act on Will - without reverting to his old standby.

      Actually, the episode was about someone (probably the same religious right) trying to kill Charlie again. He brought his mail from home into the office. Maybe that someone hoped he would take it to the WH and in this case they got lucky. But they were still trying to kill Charlie. The writers let that theme go after this episode which was too bad it could have made for a dramatic story later. Missed opportunity.
