The maturity of Eliot when he first finds and meets his father is incredible!!
It's a TV show...a TV show...
@@aisaac1919 im well aware of that thanks but I can still say it. 🙂

Rings so hollow at this point
The actor playing Eliot, whose name escapes me, is a phenomenal actor.
Michael Angarano!
He was from Sky High
@@laterferaligatr2947thank you! I could not remember where I knew him from
He was especially great in This is Us, although he's been amazing since childhood.
His best performance was in the movie one last thing that movie had me crying on so many parts it's one of the best movies out there!
The "but in public you're my brother" just got to me for some reason and I chocked on air 😂😂
Jack will never admit to having a full adult grown man as a son who has a kid of his own, Jack wants to be Peter Pan, eternally young forever, LOL.
Lol I like to joke with my daughters to "ixnay the omsnay" in public!
@@BattleStar_Yoletticaommay?
Each time Jack calls Will “a fat lawyer” it just further gives me clarity that when people are upset, they’ll say things they think will hurt you and not necessarily because it’s true; cos Will doesn’t have an ounce of fat in his body. 😅😂
He’s been saying that from the first season 😂
Actually he is fat by gay standards.
I believe “fat” can also mean rich.
Apparantly the joke went over your head
Fat lawyer= fat liar
Jack always spoke with different standards in mind. "Gay fat" has been seen like "Heterosexual Skinny".
They cut it off too soon! The part where Eliot asks Jack if he wanted to take Skip to his first Broadway show and Jack tears up is so sweet and funny!

I love this show for so many reasons. Karen and Jack are my favorite characters. Thank you for sharing this beautiful episode.
it would have been an incredible surprise if Jack's father was Beverly Leslie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That would have been a great full circle w/Beverly Leslie as Jack’s father.😂
It would have, though it would have made the final of the original series so much more cringy
The writing on this show is top tier. ❤

“Who’s Nixon”
“I dunno” 🤷🏾♂️
I would have loved to have Jack as my dad saying those exact words to my younger self
The last two scenes always make me tear up.
Loved the pajama party couch scenes! Glad Father and Son made the right decision.
Was the line, “See a Jackie Chan movie” what got Michael the roles of Jason in ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’? Because that line aged very well after the movie released.
I could just die I'm laughing 😂 so hard 😂
So happy for Michael Angarano who had a nice part in the latest Best Picture winner Oppenheimer. 25 years later still kicking as an actor.
All I hear is “firrrrrrrred” when ever I see Jack 😂😂😂😂
I like how Elliot grew up while Jack barely grew old.
Absolutely love this show! Jack & Karen ❤ those two are a mess but worth watching
How does that guy make such a good impression on everyone !
Crazy, he grew up to star in a Jackie Chan movie. Man manifested his own destiny

It’s a great episode or 2 or whatever it was but damn I still focused on the math of their ages…. Jack seems soooooo young!!!
According to wiki Jack was 17 when he donated his stuff to the stuff bank, so young dad. I assume Elliot was also a young dad since he was in his early 30s in this, so he would have to be a father in his late teen or early 20s.
“So, Skip” *skips
Isn’t that Will Stronghold
1:13 Karen fainting out of her seat was so hysterical 😂🤣😂🤣(and even more so when you repeat it. 🤣)

I think Skip asking "Can I call you grandpa?" was funnier personally.

Elliot is the same actor in both parts. The part with Jack's grandson is from the 2017 revival

Perhaps the MOST impactful, effective and emotional episode of the entire series. Thank you for all you did for our community to be seen for the beauty of who we are as human beings.
Idk it’s not that deep
When I heard "camp upstate" i immediately knew what it was and my heart broke. Thank god Elliot was able to turn things around and get him outta there
What does it mean?
These children were very good actors.
When Will called him "Grandpa Jack"😂
I was always impressed with this arc. The child was incredibly close to Hayes' look. Jack was always ludicrously superficial so it was incredibly interesting to see this material emerge.
I was really annoyed with how Elliot turned out, but luckily they saved him in the end! I do love skip I wish we saw more skip!
Yeah it doesn't make any sense that he'd marry a homophobic person at all. Both of his parents are gay!

Wonderful episode. I will never tire of this show, it's actors and their messages.
The kid who played Elliot went to my school when i was younger it was just crazy he was always the kid on TV lol
Wow the grooming of children began long timr ago. 'change your family'....wow.
My most favorite moment ever was "Can I call you grandpa". Seen it so many times and laugh so hard every time.
Michael Angarano was so good in this role. I wish Elliott had been given more storylines.
This was beautiful ❤️ I don’t think I will ever understand someone sending their child to somewhere that changes who they are 😞 my child is on the spectrum for Autism. I would never change that about her because I wouldn’t know if that would change every thing else about her too x it absolutely breaks my heart to know that there are people in the world who would be cruel to her, especially once I’m no longer around, but I hope the love I have for her can help her through it all 💕
Yeah. I am Canadian and "conversion therapy" is is not allowed. We are currently putting through an Act to make it a crime under the criminal code. This will protect LGTBQ+ Canadians by including them under human rights and hate-crime laws. The religious fundies are against it....of course (the effing savages).
God bless both you and your child 💝💓
The fact that the writers did a reference to Texas' abortion laws was a nice touch
So if Elliott had been butchered in the womb, as an ode to that nice Texas abortion reference you mentioned, it would have made an alternate warm and fuzzy storyline? Praying for you.
@massabielle2821 Literally nobody said that.
@@AgTheFreebornDidnt watch this series, so I'm going by the comment presented. But thank you.
@@massabielle2821 Okay psycho. Way to completely discredit your position with nonsense.
Both of Elliot's parents are gay. Why'd he turn out so conservative?
Anymore when a child from two straight up conservative parents ends up the opposite, you are who you choose to be
He met his wife and moved to Texas. He got sucked in by the Texan conservative mindset. I know someone who was super liberal and environmentally conscious but went extremely right-wing and a climate change denier because of trump. It happens.
Because he had bad parents. His father is less mature than he is and his mother has her kid wandering NY unsupervised and is also a thief.
I'm autistic and I know what it's like being told to act "normal". The constant anxiety about making people feel uncomfortable or upsetting them by being myself -- it makes you feel like you're nothing. Some days I wonder how I made it this far. I'm 42, and I still don't get why being "normal" is considered a prerequisite to being a good person.
♥️🙏✝️
Nobody cares.
You're not autistic, people with autism don't go around announcing it.
1:42 ❤❤ aww the little shake in his voice! He's either an amazing actor already, or was feeling genuinely nervous, or both! ❤❤
The actor, and at that age, was perfect at playing Elliott.
“Can I call you grandpa” 😂😂😂
'OMG, you have to!'
“No not Will. Will is a fat lawyer” hahaha
Right from the setup of Jack talking about this great person, you knew where the joke was going. But both Sean Hayes and the kid actor delivered it perfectly.
I forget how much that show meant to me. It still touches my heart and brings a smile to my face
How did Jack get a son and grandson so quickly?
Idk Elliot would be in his 20s in 2008-ish so maybe Skip would be this age by 2019
I’m so confused how Elliot became homophobic, when he was quite literally raised by a gay dad and a lesbian mom. Such a weird storyline.
Its almost as if people are just who they are and can't be influenced by books, movies or tv...
@CMOT101 Yeah but it still makes no sense. How are you gonna say that your son is defective for being gay, when both your parents are gay? The disrespect..
Right, the abomination of being straight and conservative. People get way too immersed in these stories.
It's the frog in the slowly heating water thing; he moved into a bigoted community and after a while didn't recognize he was also being a bigot
Honestly, as it seemed when he was an adult that Jack was not there for him. So that was a sort of resentment honestly, not hate..and he didn't want his son to grow up like a man that he was mad at who he thought abandoned him. Family's right...
Elliott young and Elliott adult are the same actor, isn't he?🤔
Yessss! I looked it up. So good
I thought I recognized him.
Michael Angarano
No.
Wonderful! If Elliott can accept his dad being gay, he can accept his son being gay! Jack is a good dad but a INCREDIBLE GRANDDAD! ❤❤❤
Eliot was so adorable
Jack's Gene's has passed through generations skip😂😂😂
I find it interesting that the kid mentioned Jackie Chan only for him to be in a film with Chan years later.
One could also make the Spider-Man/Sky High coincidence.
I bet that the young actors who played Jack's son & grandson have a difficult time trying to keep a straight face while doing those scenes. 😂
Forgot how cruel Jack was to that boy looking for his father.
Pretty upsetting how topical that "tell women what to do with their fetus" joke still is
?????
You are exactly who you are supposed to be ❤
Very sweet! I had a very difficult time growing up. Life hasn't been easy. Most nights I pray that I won't wake up. Growing up I used to be feminine. To survive, I had to learn how to act male. I grew up in the south and I'm still here.
@@DarianReeves1 Stay strong!
@@petewheelus2662Stay strong, you too! Best thing would be if the place you live would accept feminine men. You shouldn't have to leave to be who you are. Still - there are other places.
@@monmothma3358 I'm too old to move. I never had the desire to leave. I learned how to act male or butch up in junior high school. That made life a little easier, but I'll never be happy. I've learned to be content with the way things are. I hate my genitals, but that is my private problem. A problem that will never change. I have thought of cutting them off, myself. I've done some research on how to do it, myself. This may not make sense, but I'm happy with being a man. I just don't have the right genitals. I'm not feminine any longer. As I mentioned earlier, I learned to butch up in junior high school. That was a survival thing.
@@petewheelus2662 Yeah, what we do to survive... Well, respect to you, and sorry if I came off simplifying a complex problem. I think you deserve to be happier, but I know life isn't always like that. And hey, if surgery is what it takes... or maybe therapy? I might be giving the "easy", obvious suggestion again there, but you seem to be in pain.
As the episode says, you are who you meant to be. You don’t need therapy or surgery, you don’t need to act masculine. Just be whatever you define yourself to be without the definitions of society that made you think you are not anyone else’s equal.
That episode made me cry. Cry for all the kids who still have to endure that pain. Who cannot live their truth.

The biggest mistake most make in life, is to believe we need the world's approval to simply exist. We need to get past that belief, and understand we are exactly who we are meant to be. We are not abnormal, we are extraordinary.
An even bigger mistake is believing people need our approval to exist, that no one in this world has to be mold into what we want them to be, simply because we can't accept those different to us. May we all learn to live together in love and peace 🙏
Personality attracts and repells. Find the people who like you and don't impose yourself on those who don't. This applies to everyone
"We are not abnormal, we are extraordinary."
...and unique and special.
This never made sense to me… Because like he met his kid when the kid was like what 14? So in order for that kid to have a kid at least five years later… Plus the age of the grandson has to be around 12 or 13… And I am sorry but it's just not like 20 years later
I will never understand how people expect kids to know they are straight at any age, but think they are too young to know they are lgbtq. People don't just accept a kid having a crush or what they think is a crush on someone of the opposite sex, most people think it's sooo sweet and adorable, even when the kids are barely potty trained. It's just more proof that you either love someone, or you love your imaginary version of them, but if it's the second, don't claim it's the first.
Barely potty trained? That is 18 months. Your comment lacks clarity.
@@hilaryc3203 some get poty trained at 3/4

Elliot sending his son to a gay conversion camp made zero sense for his character. But I guess it was a handy plot device. 🤷♀
