Mathematics is the language of nature. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature.

Of course there are.....try the rest of Aronofsky's movies up to The Fountain. His films took a different approach after that (still crazy, just not as visceral as the first three, although Mother! could be seen as a return to that tour de force type filmmaking).
I recommend the German movie "23: Nichts ist so wie es scheint", also released in 1998 and dealing with lots of similar subjects (and based on the true story of the German hacker Karl Koch in the 1980s).
This movie connects how often things can be calculated and interpreted but at the same time can be coincidental and unpredictable..universe is confusion in itself and the frequency we give out is what we get in return...its mathematical equations v spirituality both being in different spectrum..bt anyhow..more intelligence(IQ) and less stability of emmotions(EQ) can lead into insanity..a masterpiece!
This song has me imagining an animated avant-garde series that delves into the sci-fi, horror/ bizarre elements and characters. Much like the old MTV cartoons that were playing before I was born (I was born in ‘99).
LOVE IT ! LOVE IT ! LOVE IT ! an amazingly brilliant and twisted film; a soundtrack that goes above, beyond and over ! after all these years, it's still phenomenal !
This film is the closest we'll (probably) ever get to a VALIS adaptation (VALIS is a novel by Philip K. Dick, author of Blade Runner, that deals with similar themes as Pi)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING. I drew so many pictures, built so many models, and started watching Toonami solely because of this movie ( that drill scene) and most importantly THIS SONG.
12:45 I confirm my assumptions 1: math is the language of nature 2: everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers 3: if one graphs the numbers in any system, patterns will emerge 4: therefore there are no patterns anywhere in nature. Evidence: - Cycles of epidemics - The eras that resurface thanks to the populations - Sunspot cycles - The rise and fall of denial And what about the stock market? the universe of numbers that represent the global economy, millions of human hands at work, billions of minds, an immense screaming network full of life, an organism, a natural organism. Yes… But in the end he had to stop in order to not losing totally his mind. The final scene is beautiful, although he knows he surrender to the flow and the unknown, to simplicity. First scene where finally he seems relax.
This week I had to watch this movie for a philosophy assignment, whenever my man had an attack I had an aneurysm bc I was sitting right next to the damn speaker.
I don't consider myself a brilliant mathmatician but I think when you're doing complex mathematical thinking in your head your head sometimes can feel like a great pile of crawling termites.
I have the soundtrack album and it's rather tinny as on that. I think it rather crudely stuck together (for DnB meets IDM) but effective. Maybe there's another version about?
@@leboiboiboiIt was tongue in cheek but there is a hint of truth in it: Hans notably has an army of people working for him now (incl. people composing music for him), but back in 80s / 90s when he was his own composer, musician, engineer and producer he was nowhere near this intricate especially with sound. This requires knowledge of breakbeat slicing,, dealing with samples as soundbytes, not just as prefabbed libraries for Kontakt, engineering a roaring bassline atop of fitting with the atmosphere of the film. Clint made this track himself in a musical style that was popular back then but whose production techniques were extremely complex and not many people were doing it.
No es Drum n Bass, no es trance. Es Jungle. Cualquiera de los géneros mencionados no existían cuando salió la película. Jungle existía en el under de Londres en los 90, y ya era muy popular
A criminally underdiscussed movie with one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.

Some patterns can be worked back to the seed, but what this movie shows is that not everything has a pattern. That's why he goes crazy.
@@ibimon Not necessarily. It could be that the pattern is too much for a mortal mind to apprehend.

Yeah, let's see Hans Zimmer do something like this :)

Compared to Zimmer's music, anyone can make this. If you have the ability, it really isn't that hard to make these types of beats.
