Welcome aboard an Air Wing package check on a KC-10 on the front side of a combat sortie in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE. This was one of my four trips to the tanker on this 7+ hour sortie.
Make sure to watch until the end. I want to extend a heart-filled thank you to my fans who provided me with pictures and the opportunity to honor those who have served in defense of our country and those who are no longer with us that willingly gave their lives in defense of freedom, so that others may live. Thank you for your service.

Thanks to Pail- every time I sit up straight in my car, I whisper- “signature move.”
Me too.
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend and more importantly? I hope they understand why they have a three day weekend. Many thanks for your service shipmate. ‘MERICA!!
I do also
Thank you for that tribute. My father was an Air Force Phantom pilot who didn’t make it home from Vietnam. My mother had his funeral and then gave birth to his only child 6 days later. She never got over it. I can get through about three notes of Taps before the tears start flowing. The hole in our hearts never heals.
Well said. “The price of freedom is not free.”
Thomas Jefferson: The tree of liberty requires frequent watering by the [sacrifices] of patriots. I replaced the original word, inappropriate in this context, with the word, "sacrifices".
I really enjoy these videos. Especially the narration. Naval aviation is the pinnacle of aviation and I love every aspect of it, except it’s purpose. I’ve been an aviator for 50 years. But ultimately, Freedom is not free: i.e. young men die and old men get rich. Someone please help me make this make sense.
There's a hefty f****'n fee
@@solidsteal Speaking as a military veteran whose family's service extends to the Revolution, it's a "hefty ****ing fee" some of us are willing to pay on your behalf.
God Bless America
Thank you so much for caring.... Came home from Nam 100% disabled... 35 years later a woman clerk in a hardware store said, "Thanks for serving"... I stood there and couldn't stop crying... To think that someone actually cared. With the Government... it's all political. A few years back I waited 7 years for a cost of living increase... Yea!... Got 1% ! ! !
..I know this is last years post, but thank YOU for your service and your kind words on the "10" -from a retired '10 Boomer. So sad to see her go, after 20+ years on her. Fair winds and following seas my friend!
MAN! Just when this dude couldn't get any cooler...... he does this. Very well done and well said. Memorial Day is a sober, respectful holiday. Period. Well done.
One minute I’m laughing about the signature move, the next I’m tearing up looking at all those remarkable souls…
❤️🇺🇸🙏🏻
Outstanding commentary Pail. I don’t think I’ve seen such interesting and informative in-the-seat videos from a current Naval aviator. Great to see the channel growing.
PAIL flies for all of us. God Bless America 🇺🇲
Thank you for this tribute! A salute to my parents who served in the Navy during WWII.
Pail THANK YOU for a amazing Jam!!! I extend to you my signature salute I gave EVERY aircrew I launched. A salty salute into Hawaiian Hang Loose
Thanks for adding the frame of four EA-6B Prowlers - predecessor to the Growler. This Memorial Day, let's remember Lt. Jack Pedersen, first Prowler crewman lost, on Jan 13, 1975, when they lost an engine on the cat stroke and crashed off the bow of the USS Enterprise, in the North Indian Ocean. Pail, you may have seen the granite plaque at NAS Whidbey. With respect, "Black Cloud."
WE will always be in your debt for all you and your fellow uniformed service members and their families have so willingly sacrificed on behalf of our country. Thank you for keeping the light of freedom burning brightly in a world of ever increasing darkness. May God bless you one and all !
Never miss! Got a little dust in my eye with that one... Ahem......
Memorial day weekend I am remembering my friend from college days. Steve Cullen. Lost him in 1991 on his nugget cruise, in an A-6 mishap off the USS Forestall.
Thank you Sir. Fly Navy and Growler Jams Rocks...
Great tribute to our veterans.
As a Vietnam Veteran, I thank and appreciate you Growler.
My Dad, a Lt. Col., had the call sign, "Sports Fan" because he hated sports. He is gone now. But I'm a 37 year first responder. Fire and ambulance. We are proud of each other. Happy Memorial Day everyone. Freedom is free. 🇺🇲
Thank you, Pail.
👍nice, moving tribute for your Memorial Day. Great flying you make it look so easy just sliding the aircraft around and up to the refuel hose but I can imagine it’s a ton harder than you make it look. Great video once again with voiceover keep up the good work and stay safe.
Long flight - 7 hours. Great narration - confirming the tanker is "sweet" - and description of the flight path. Did not know that the KC-10 can transfer fuel to Air Force a/c with the boom, and Navy a/c with the drogue. As usual an enjoyable vid Pail, and wonderful tribute to those who served. Thank you and happy memorial day to you and yours.
"'SIGNITURE MOVE".....I crack up EVERY TIME. Keep the jams coming bro!
Another winner, thank you. I swear my eyes start watering every time I see you look into sun🌞🔥. The Memorial Tribute is pretty special ❤Happy Memorial Day , be proud and stay safe everyone 🙃
It saddens me when I think that so many Americans don’t understand the meaning of our Memorial Day holiday. This is a day we all should be paying our respects to those who have passed away while serving our country. I do appreciate it when someone says they thank me for my service, but that is what Veterans Day is for.
So to all those that gave their all for our great country, may you rest in peace. 🇺🇸☮️
A good Memorial Day to you, Sir. I’m proud to have served for 22 years, Navy and Air Force. Thanks for being there and thanks for the viddies. Stay safe. 🤙🏼
Thank you for your service.
It was my privilege and honor. 😊 Fly Navy! 🤙🏼
This is now a Bob Ross comedy bit in a fighter plane.
I know it sounds like a cliche, but I genuinely mean it: I love my freedom and I appreciate everyone who’s fought for it. May all the heroes in heaven rest in peace and watch over us, may all the veterans have a long, happy and prosperous life with their loved ones, and may God bless all our service members and bring them back home safe ❤
Thanks Pail 🇺🇸
Great video, cheers to all who served and especially to those who gave it all.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a KC-10A Flight Engineer, I really appreciate this video! Its so cool to see it from the other side. I've acquired many flight hours and deployments on this amazing aircraft. It's a real shame that the Air Force is retiring these planes. A: I will be out of a job, haha, and B: The KC-46 is not a good replacement for the -10, it was meant to replace the -135 but politics have made this a trainwreck. Big Sexy (KC-10A nickname) thanks you for the recognition!
Cheers!
what will you do after it's retired for a job? why is the 46 not a good replacement for the 10? I love the dc10! I presume due to the 46 not being able to have the capacity as the 10?
Thank you for serving.
Fair Weather and Following Seas to all this Memorial Day who served.
I was at the Hillsboro Oregon Air Show last Sunday and seen the US Navy E/A-18G Growler Demonstration Team! Great show!
The one of the very best and one of my very favorite ASMR vid!! 💯💥💖 I love it so incredibly much!!! 💜💜💜 Thank you, Pail, for sharing it. I truly appreciated it!! 🫶 ✈️⚓️
Always a please. Thanks for shout out, Army 1964-1970. Cheers
Cheers!
Your detail is an awesome! Signature move…allowing the flow of blood moving though…lol. As a DCS wannabe F-18C Driver the first time of hearing “transfer complete” is a Woohoo moment! Now it’s just a routine part of the mission to keep it flying. Excuse me while I wipe away the tears of hearing Taps and seeing the fallen on this Memorial Day holiday, remembering what they did for our country. Thank you for your service. Fly Navy…
Thank you to all who have served our great nations.
From Australia.....Lest We Forget
We don't need the praise. We don't need the respect.
We serve so others don't have to, in hopes that some glad morning NO ONE will have to.
Thanks, Pail. Go Army, Fly Navy.
And thank you Pail for your service!
Nice bandana
I'm a vet, myself. Great tribute to those that gave all, Grower. They shall not be forgotten.
As a kc-10 guy, thanks for the footage and the tribute! Hard to replace BigSexy. We just had our last McGuire bird retire a few weeks ago. Always enjoyed dragging you guys around the world! Cheers!
Cheers!
Another superlative video. Inspired
Words are insignificant to express how much I appreciate you and your felllow service men and women.
Here’s a beer for you and your Dad🍺🍺
I appreciate that
I live in PoDunk USA. If I was sitting in my lawn chair gazing up into that blue sky, would I be able to see you all flying over head, or are you guys way, way, waaaayyyyyyy up there? Be safe out there cowboy!
You could see us. We were in the mid-twentys.
At 8:00 is my brother Navy Commander Steve Overbeck (VP56 P-3 pilot, 1983-87) was on patrol during Operation El Dorado Canyon - Libya. He was USNR until 2008, retiring a Commander and also flew the 747, 767 for Delta and Northwest Airlines.
Am absolutely mesmerized by your voice over from the cockpit commentaries. I look for your new videos every time I go to UA-cam. Thank you PAIL, and all our wonderful men and women who serve in our United States military! Because of y’all, we can sleep peacefully! 🇺🇸 Gods blessings!
Keep those videos coming
Thank you, Sir for your service, and those we remember!! "Greater hath no man than this, that he would (willingly) lay down his life for his friends", God bless them, one and all, and those who stand that "thin red line" for Freedom! Never forget!!
What the Hell have I been watching for years on YT before this? GREAT CHANNEL! Thanks from Sweden. I'm subscribing RIGHT NOW!
Welcome aboard!
@@GrowlerJams Thank you very much. Today it's "Midsummer" in Sweden. Kind of like the movie... 🙂No. Or? Is it? Have a nice summer!
Thank you for your words.... much appreciated.
Touching ! Outstanding ! Thank you for your service and the your sacrifice. And for those who came before. Thank you. Thanks for keeping us all safe and thanks for sharing your videos, there awesome. Stay safe. 🇺🇸🙏
Pail, a very tearful Thank You for your tribute no other words come to mind but your awesome....Polly!
Thanks, Polly.
God Bless you and Thank you.
Another great tanking vid Pail. Thank you for that memorial montage and thank you for your service. Happy Memorial Day. 😊
That was a really nice tribute to those who gave all.
I flew in a KC-10 from Sigonella Sicily to Dover Delaware via Mildenhall England way back in 1986. What a fine aircraft it is.
That was a very moving tribute. Thank you Pail for your service. Much Respect ! Fly Navy !
Great Memorial Day tribute. Jeff Pirates Cove...brings back memories of 82-85 & fly Navy!
Ha! Fly Navy.
Thank you for your service. Never forget!
“and after that we just need to make sure we get some gas.”😂👍🏻
From New Zealand 🇳🇿 thank you to all for your service for our families, friends and freedom thanks Pail what a wonderful tribute to the forever young we will never forget 🪖thank you very much 🦅🦅
Yep, I'm with our NZ brothers and sisters in giving thanks from Australia.
Thank you Pail for a very special tribute to those who gave so much for all our futures. I’ve seen the etched glass plates outside the AAF Museum at Duxford, Cambridge marking every US plane lost in the WW2 European Theatre. Astonishing and moving. So many lives given to liberate so many under oppression. Great refuel too - way to go. Fly Navy!
Fly Navy.
fantastic video and the heartfelt message...thank you to them all...
Thank you, Pail. That means a lot coming from you.
Cheers!
As a disabled veteran of the US Army, thank you for the memorial at the end for our fallen brothers and sisters. When I was in the service, we would great officers with the greeting of "Scouts Out!", since I was a Cavalry Scout. On this Memorial Day Weekend, the best I can say to the fallen service members in a very loud, "SCOUTS OUT!!!"
Ok pass the Kleenex. Watching the 80th D-day events. Having had family in that action. It’s those who sacrificed their tomorrows for our todays. Thank you all yesterday, today and all the tomorrows. ❤
I love your transfer of units, makes it worldly
Im so grateful and, proud to know that people like you are up there. As always God speed and i stand watch with you.
Remember the first responders. Life is not free. One has a duty to each other.
Good stuff, Pail. Thank you.
Whew👍🏽 🙏. Very well done voice over. Your ending acknowledgement was in the groove and nailed like an outstanding 3 wire trap. Thank you sir and you, your family and friends, be well.
Cheers.
Thank you, sir, for your service and the fantastic videos that you have made to give us a peak at what our great naval aviators do every day. God bless you.
Cheers!!
Thank you for taking the time to put together this moving tribute for those that gave all and for those who served. We appreciate all you do and for all of your years of service, Pail. God bless you.
🇺🇲♥️🇺🇲 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻 Fly Navy 💫
Hey Tee how you doin
Hi Teresa, Hope you are on the mend💪🏼❤ and back in the saddle in no time🤞🙃
Happy Memorial Day
nice video! thanks for your service!
The very end was touching. thank you! We now stand the watch!
Excellent.
Thank you Sir. Once again an amazing display of Patriotism and Honor for the Navy I served in. Thanks brother!!!! Fly safe
Thank you so much Pail for this beautiful and touching video on Memorial Day. That was a nice tribute to our fallen brothers and sisters. Please stay safe, and once again, thank you for being there for us.
Thank you for this, I truly appreciate it.
I know all of us in America can be so much better than we are but sadly on this Memorial day we are faced with political terrorism on capital hill. This shouldn't happen but exploits in our system keep being targeted.
We need to remain united even in our differences and stay the course and follow the path laid out.
This awesome pilot and service men shows how far we've come but in the last 10-20 years America is being destroyed from the inside out. Please support our troops, please support our government and the decisions made to better our country.
We can't afford to keep taking away from what isn't there. Currently most agencies are scraping by each year with a CR over and over and it's destroying us, slowing advancements and allowing America to fall further behind.
Thank you Growler Jams for every time you post one of these. I love these videos
....a beautiful flight - and a wonderful Tribute...
absolutely well done sir! And to all the veterans that paid the ultimate sacrifice Thank you for the freedoms that you have given us today.🇺🇲🇺🇲
Happy memorial day fly navy!!
DCS is looking great on your computer...
love the content Mr Pail
What more can I add to this...Thank you...I am Canadian but I love you USA....Thanks for protecting us, because without you....we would feel really alone, vulnerable and small, since my country never, ever, spent enough on our National Defence...instead relying on you for almost a free ride...What a shame.
I've said this before, Sir you are a credit to your country. Absolutely wonderful video.
Many thanks!
Beautiful tribute on this day for our warfighters, both active and retired. Thanks for your service. As well as working for Pfizer, I'm proud to be a retired US Navy Reserve Nurse and O-6. Three tours at Role 3's in Baghdad, Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharīf. Had loads of fun from January 13 to July 15, 2011 when I served in the Flight Surgeon's Office and was deployed on board CVN-65 with CVW-1 in Big E's 5th Fleet AOR during OEF and New Dawn. Best parts of that cruise? Being the Lead Nurse for VFA-136 Knighthawks, and when they "adopted me" for the port call in Palma de Mallorca. The worst? The SY Quest incident with Somali pirates, which marred DDG-104's maiden deployment.
Thank you for your service.
@@GrowlerJams Always my pleasure and honor to serve, especially while CDR Damien Christopher was CO of the Hawks.
Very nice...👍.
Respect. From little Denmark, Salute sir.
Fly Navy!
Outstanding informative video Sir👌👍🧐😇🙏😌Cheers 🍻
Such a beautiful tribute, you are an inspiration, such depth, such awareness and personal perception, E
I love the voice-over videos. Beautiful tribute at the end. From one Navy Vet to another, thank you for YOUR service.
Thank you Pail. May God grant peace & comfort to those who have lost their loved ones fighting for our freedom. Thank you Pail for everything that you do for all of us on a day to day basis. Hoping everyone has a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend. Again thanks from the bottom of my heart. Great vid and commentary.
Thank you for your service & thank you to all who gave their all on this Memorial Day. God bless America!
Outstanding jam! Cheers from Savannah, Georgia!
Thank you!
I, too, appreciate your tributes. My cousin began flying P-47's with the Army Air Corps. He loved the work stayed till retirement in 1969 with the rank of Lt. General. He flew a lot of different jets through his command of a fighter wing. He left the cockpit when he was promoted to Brig. General. I am 79 now. During the Vietnam war, I was an aircraft engine mechanic for C-97's, then, C-130's. Kudos to you, Pail.
What an awesome video and tribute. Thank you👍🫡
Dude! You rock! Love your vids. I'm very proud of you. i'm a 61 yr old USAF, Maintenance officer. Loved it. Miss it. Great times. F-16, F-111, F-4, and others. 6 yr in Transient Alerat....a blast! Loved that job. I served. I'm proud. Hope the next generation will feel as I do, when they are older. I wished I'd tried to fly USAF...would love to fly Fighters. Or anything else. Just fly! Go USAF! ha! Cheers, Ken
Cheers!
Hooyah! Fly Navy!
You make it easy Pail

Low key, self deprecating, dry wit. ''Signature Move'' and referencing ''Mom''. Love it.
