    Your clothing looks so comfy. And your toiletries are crazy admirable. You are so good at not packing just in cases

      Oh thank you! I'm still learning, every trip is a new practice round. I'm guilty of throwing in a few items last minute haha

    I really wanna do bare minimum travel, but I can't sacrifice looking good. These are great if you're going hiking every day or camping, wear no makeup and have a wash n wear hairstyle that doesn't need anything, but that's just not me. I envy it in some ways. While I'm casual, I'm more glam-casual. I've never been able to pack in just a carry-on. I try, I really do, but I'm gonna wanna take some photos, I'm gonna wanna look stylish when I'm out and about, have makeup and hair done and all that and that requires a hair dryer and curling iron and a lighted makeup mirror because I can't stand up at a bathroom sink and do it and I need to sit down and be comfy and have a mag mirror too. lol I need some hair products, etc. too. I'll keep searching. Oh well. I do admire those who can do it though.

      That is so fair, everyone has their preferred styles and comforts while traveling! Honestly a lot of the time I envy people who have a better style and nicer clothes and a more intense hair or skin care routine. I would love to upgrade my wardrobe in the future, but my budget just doesn't allow for that right now, so I use what I have. I find there are lots of packing videos on UA-cam where people pack carry on only, but include a full makeup, skincare, and hair care routine, so I wanted to rep the girlies who don't use many products. One tip I found for taking photos with lots of different outfits but still trying to pack less, is get a few basic practical outfits that can be more casual, but use a few staple piece like a really nice jacket or over-shirt or scarf to mix it up. Having most of your clothes match each other will allow you to take less but feel like you can create more outfit combinations. Also finding an all in one tool for hair styling, or taking only the basics for a simple make up style, may help with moving towards carry on only while still looking fabulous :) Obviously there are more reliable people than me to give advice on that but I hope this helped!

      I gotta figure out a compromise w/ myself as luggage is heavy to cart around in airports and wears me out. lol I just don't look good like you do keeping it that simple. I have the kinda hair that needs to be dried and styled or it's just odd as it's straight/curly/wavy all at once, and I have dark circles under my eyes, uneven skin tone and am blonde so have no color or brows or lips w/o some color on them so I don't look 'finished' w/o some effort. You remind me of Kara of Kara and Nate. Just effortless to look good w/ easycare hair and no makeup. I really envy it. It's just not the face/hair/body I got that allows for that if I wanna look good. Ya'll wake up looking good and still look good in just cargos and a tank top. Me, people would be saying 'You ok? You look like you're feeling sick'. lol (real thing that happens) My 'finished' look gets me to a normal look like you, but just takes work to get there. lol Plus, I'm 5'3" 110lb but 32E boobs so just jeans/t-shirt just doesn't flatter me so the body takes some styling to look right and proportional and 'normal'. So whether I'm travelling for a weekend or 2 weeks, it's still a checked bag, carryon and tote bag or backpack. Sigh. I guess it doesn't help that when I travel I'm typically going to events or to see friends so I gotta look extra good as they'll be posting all over the internet and I don't get to preview those photos. lol @@wanderbirdx

      First of all, I love Kara and Nate so thank you for that haha. But also I think half if it is the camera honestly. I have awful bags under my eyes and my skin is pretty pale. My hair is thin and always gets tangled so I end up cutting it all off. I have a fairly large chest so half of my one packing cube is decent sport bras and I personally never grew up with makeup and now I can't really afford to get into it. Like I said everyone has their essentials and different packing styles. My dream has always been to travel as light as possible and I feel like it's actually an art form. With every trip I bring less and less, and I find myself being more okay with having less. I'm super insecure about the way I look most of the time, but I think only having a few options frees up some energy from decision making, as well as saves money because I don't check bags. Honestly, I love fashion and dressing up, and I have anxiety so it's been difficult for me to leave all of my options and only have a few items to my name for weeks at a time. This is still new for me, and I would love to be one of those girls who's just confident in a bikini and mini skirt and not have to worry about anything, but alas lol

      The other day I saw a vid of a woman, similar to you, going by train for 3 days to her mother's house and literally took not even a purse. She had a deodorant, toothbrush, pair of underwear, phone and charger and that's it. lol All in her pocket of her jacket. I just shook my head. I just...no...can't do it. lol Man, how freeing if i could though! @@wanderbirdx

      I actually have jacket that could hold all of that... One pocket can fit a 32z water bottle or an iPad haha. I want to do a review on it soon, and maybe I'll have to try some sort of super light packing challenge...

    That sure is a generous amount of carry on luggage. In Australia we would only be allowed the one bag, for example your orange backpack. So we are kind of forced to take a checked bag.

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  4 місяці тому

      I try to check the weight and dimensions allowed before every trip, and I was lucky enough to get away with it for 99% of my flights this time. I only had to check my green bag once for a flight on a budget airline that was fully booked. My goal is to travel with only a bag that can fit under the seat since I really don't like checking my bags.

    Highly appreciated video. I'm packing for a 4-week trip to Europe in November and I'm pretty concerned about the amount of clothes I should take, once I'm not used to cold weather (I'm from Brazil and the weather in my city during winter averages 24-25ºC). So, it's nice to see what other people consider reasonable to make my own checklist.
    Edit: nice animations, btw.

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому +2

      I feel like as long as you have a good jacket and socks, November won't be too bad, depending on where you're going. Things that layer are a good idea, and I've heard good things about merino wool but I haven't tried it, as it is very expensive.
      Thanks, I wanted to try something new! And thank you for subscribing!

      Take thin layers! I’m from india and travelled through Europe and Turkey during the winters and thin layers were godsent! For instance, a longtop that can be worn under a high neck which in turn can be worn under other thin (if you’ve got cashmere then even more perfect!). Add a waterproof and wind proof jacket. It’s not the cold but the wind that kills!
      And good walking boots.
      I packed everything in a single backpack

      Packing clothes for a winter travel is hard !! Well,at least that was I used to think !! Especially, carry on luggage only trips !! But,during winter ,we don't sweat as much as long as we do NOT do very outdoor activities or being inside where the heater is working really really well ! 😅And good news are people can't smell body odors so much in cold climate vs warm/ hot climate/ places !! LOL Think about how we can get rid of smelly sneakers in a freezer ,etc.!!? Lol. 1stly ,you should find accommodations where laundry facilities are available to you !! Pack less & use compression cubes or roll clothes together instead individually. Try minimum wardrobe capsule ! Use layering methods ,too ! Pack 1 week amount of outfits & do laundry ,or hand wash every 5 days or so !! Stick with mono tones / earth colours & hues & select 2, 3 eye popping colours as accents only ! The same goes to make ups ! Do nude eye make up & bring 3, 4 different colours for lipsticks !! Buy,or transfer skin care products into travel sized containers under tsf regulations. I usually buy skin care products in travel/ trial sized to begin with for my skin care routines !! That way, they last longer & I could use many more different products/ options !! You only need so little amounts each on your face / skin !! I love clean ingredient drugstore brands . So,over all they save $$$ for me !!
      I buy light weight & natural ,affordable brand for my lipstick shopping, too ! Burts bees is one of them !! Mineral Fusion used to be ,but they recently changed the ingredients, started adding colour dyes !! Sad.
      Pack 3 sweaters ,5 long sleeve tops & 5 long legging pants !! They are thicker than regular leggings ,but not as heavy as pants !! Buy instant body warmers w adhesives on Amazon, or at a Japanese supermarket !! To keep you warm ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

      @spark_6710 10 місяців тому +1

      I forgot to mention...that you should wear heavy stuff on you on planes !! Not to pack 'em ,wear 'em ! Like your heavy winter jacket/ coat & heavy accessories. And wear one piece dress made of a natural fabric like cotton at your knee length ,so that it breathes & prevents forming blood clots & avoid backaches, etc.!! I always do & as well as wearing compression socks on planes ( cotton ) ! I wear mostly black outfits to go well with any colours & won't show stains !! I bring hot pink beanie ,teal ,or turquoise forever ( eternal ) scarves to accentuate. You can do so with scarves,wraps ,gloves so on. I hope you'll find these helpful & have safe trips ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💕💞

      @@akzzthegameYes yes !! Also we can buy clothes that actually work to circulate our body hear better !! They are usually affordable & meant to be used for layering, underneath of our clothes !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

    Wow- I was surprised to how much that backpack packs and compresses into! Curious to know how much your bags all with after packing. And I agree, I think hip straps would be helpful for the carry-on bag

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому

      Me too! I'm not sure how much they weigh because I don't have a scale, but the main bag is super light. It's all of the tech in the orange bag that gets very heavy.

      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому

      Thank you!! Actually, I've been traveling with the gel deodorant for years and I've never been stopped for taking the large one and not having it with the rest of my liquids! That could just be very good luck, so if anyone mentions it during security, I'll be sure to report back!

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому

      And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! There are tons of high quality carry on sized suitcases that work just as well and are much better for your back and shoulders. Honestly unless you're doing some serious trekking with all of your things or if you'll be in rough terrain, 90% of the time a suitcase would be great option!

    One question, is the weight manageable for long walks? Let’s say your gonna be walking a lot with the whole thing.

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому +2

      I don't know the exact weight, and comfort level would be different for everyone, however it's lighter than my school backpack used to be! I barely notice the weight, and I'm pretty sure my heaviest item by far is my laptop. I plan on doing a hike, probably with my bags, so I'll be sure to let you know if this changes. :)

  • @spark_6710

    Sorry if I didn't understand you as I played this video as I did my workouts ! But,why can't you get an underseat bag & put the small one's contains in that & under a seat !? Or you can leave 1 at a locker or hold luggage at one particular problem airport .💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

    • @wanderbirdx
      @wanderbirdx  10 місяців тому

      The orange bag does go under the seat, and usually that's what I do, but I was planning to take a budget flight and having a personal item and a carry on would have been too expensive. Luckily I switched flights and didn't have to combine them! Someday I would love to travel with just a personal item lol. As for the lockers, I don't usually see those at the airports I visit, but maybe I'll have to try them! Thanks for watching :)
