We have a National refrigerator that is still operational till now. Its over 30 years old, a testimony that this brand is indeed a quality one highly recommended for those who are planning to buy an appliances
Agnetha e a Frida eram tão lindas pareciam umas bonecas de porcelana são as divas de todas as gerações ABBA melhor grupo musical do mundo suas músicas são todas lindas e muito tocada até hoje eu ouço todos os dias 👏👏👏
Panasonic was created AFTER National and for the US market were National already existed as a brand (chas registers I think). National is the original brand, mostly used in Japan, Panasonic for US, National-Panasonic for Europe. From Panasonic they derived Technics just for quality audio its low entry level Quasar. For electronic parts or other things that are unrelated to consumers, they use also Matsushita which is the name of the coportation.
The brand has a huge plant in my country, Philippines. We would often drive passed it. Back then in the 90's, it bore "National/Panasonic" (a red background for National and a blue background for Panasonic) on top of the building but when I saw the plant in 2018, the plant only bore the Panasonic name
They didn't sell out. Abba were very aware of promotion and certainly didn't do this for the money (well, not the money they got paid anyway). This was a way of getting Abba on the TV and promoting their music
That is not true...They were given $1million for these commercials as they were not that rich then and they wanted the money to get the Tour of 1977 of the ground *quoted from Benny! *also Benny said they regret very much selling out this song to National it was a big mistake and will never do anything like this again. ..TRUE !!
A couple of years ago, I ordered a DVD of an old Australian comedy show called Funky Squad (which aired late nights here in Canada back in the 90's) and was pleasantly surprised to find these commercials (and many others from the 70's, when the show was actually set) inserted into some of the breaks. Any chance you collected these from the same disc?
These ads were filmed in Australia and broadcast on Australian commercial TV networks in the late 1970s. National was the business name that Panasonic traded under in Australia until the early 1980s. Panasonic scored a great coup to engage ABBA and use Fernando for this campaign. ABBA were huge in Australia, probably even bigger than The Beatles. Fernando stayed at #1 on the Australian charts for months after it was released.
Yes these commer islands were filmed in Sweden in Benny and Fridas flat in the Old Town area. The outside parts were filmed on the grounds of their home. Australian National sent a crew over to Sweden to film them. ABBA got paid millions and used it to fund their Australian tour and these were played during their TV special
Not filmed in Australia lol. These were filmed by an Australian crew in Sweden. They filmed a lot in Benny and Fridas flat in old town. They used theoney from doing these commercials to fund their Australian tour and the ads were played in Australia while they toured there. The part of the vacuuming scene. The part where Frida makes and brings Benny juice at his piano and many more all made in their actual home
*sees what Björn is packing in his suitcase* good thinking always come prepare. in some coutries, seeing high-profile celebs in tv ads were a common sight. there was an ad for a sofe drink featuring the A*Teens
But then these were made for the Australian market, which didn't use the Panasonic brand name. I guess they decided to use the National name there. Here in the U.S. they were already using the Panasonic name. STAY AWESOME! :)
@Afif Oktavian, We have National products (A/C, Fans, TVs) from late 70s and they are working 24hrs a day since 1976 (40 years) (continuous duty) without any problems or maintenance. (bullet proof).
I have a National brand meat grinder, this thing is over 35 years old now but still operates just as new. Quality was really good back in the days.

Actually these lyrics are better than the original version.
The original was in I think Spanish, and the English version isn't a direct translation.
