    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop

      The MOCHUB listing includes every LEGO part you need, the engine will run with or without modified pneumatic parts. it will just have a slower RPM with non modded pneumatic, if you wish to mod them i have made a compete set of instruction videos. You will also need the pneumatic tubing, i buy mine on ebay and make sure you get the 2x4mm size - www.ebay.com/itm/1M-Translucent-Silicone-Rubber-Tube-Beer-Water-Air-Pump-Hose-Pipe-Food-Grade/232281653831?hash=item361510c247:m:m5C3AZ3UxnzS_qzw9UVpLfg Thanks

      i would say it would be able to run on it, however it would not have maximum power or rpm due to the limited pressure and air flow. just use a air tank, i made a video on it. it uses a soda bottle.

I Think this engine was using around 4-5 liters a minute, if you build a 5L tank it will run for around 1 minute, I will test this in the MK2 V8 video. The new MK2 also revs higher and smoother than this one, i got it to 2000 RPM and around 1700 at 55psi (this one revved to 1500 at 55psi)

    Could you run it with CO2 cartridges people use for paintball or softer guns?

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  5 років тому +1

      CO2 is too cold for the plastics, the cylinders will fracture while using CO2

    • @G31M1

      That’s a pity. But it still sounds pretty cool.

    Man.... 😮, You are absolutly crazy genius! It is cool as... I dont know how, but I think it is the best engine of all Lego....

      thanks, i is one of my best engines. i have a hot rod video coming out in a few days with it in it, you can check out the chassis video.

    Do you think it would be possible to use this engine in a 4 pound tank with transmission, clutch, etc?

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  5 років тому

      Yes that's no problem for it, you might want to build the new MK2 version of this V8 LPE once it comes out this week. It Revs to 2000 RPM!

  • @joeymt9215
    @joeymt9215 6 років тому

    i think you should measure the rpm of the actual crank, or do the math because the tire is rotating slower. i'm guessing it was around a 1/3 gear reduction on the tire, so the engine rev's much higher than 1500

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      No, i think you are confused. it is correct, the RPM tool measures how long it take to complete and rotation. And when the reflector reflects the laser, it gets a reading. it does not make any difference if the tire has a diameter of 80mm or 20mm, it makes it will always be the same. 😉

    How does this engine compare to a v8 with big cylinders? I see the RPM is about the same, but is the torque compromised?

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      This engine will rev twice as high a a big cylinder V8 at the same pressure. LPEpower runs his v8 engine over 100 psi, to reach a similar RPM. The engine has plenty of torque, it powered my HOT ROD well. small cylinder allow for the engine to be more compact.

    I am working on a pneumatic car; I want it to run on as little air as possible and. What is the best piston to use?
    Thanks :D

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      depends on a lot of things, my i3 is a great engine if you want to use standard size cylinders. it has heaps of torque and great rpm. it is also very compact and can run with or without modified cylinder and switches. small cylinder engines like this one are the best for efficiently, the instructions for this engine will be out soon.

    You should indicate if the hand pump from lego are in the mochub inventory, because I do not think so.

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      This engine runs on a custom air tank set up or compressor. you need a good amount of air flow to reach 1200-1500 rpm, the lego hand pump is not really a good air source for pneumatic engines. it would only be useful to check the motor timing. that is why i left it out. i will indicate that you need a air source on MOCHUB. Thanks

    Hi, nice work! Is it neccessary to have mod switches and cylinders? Or is it also possible by using normal ones?

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      it is not necessary, however the engine is able to have more performance using the modded switches and cylinders.
