Japan's limited express Kusatsu finally supports automatic broadcasting and VVVF inverter

Due to the JR timetable revision in 2023, the 651 series limited express Kusatsu is scheduled to be renewed to the E257 limited express Kusatsu/Shiman. This time, I took a picture of Naganohara Kusatsuguchi Station, which was less than a month until the timetable revision.
The 651 series limited express is a popular vehicle that once ran as a Super Hitachi, but it is not compatible with the equipment such as automatic broadcasting equipment and VVVF inverter control that are standard on current limited express vehicles. The control method is thyristor phase control, which is familiar to JNR vehicles and was the first new model car of JR East, but it has become a valuable vehicle in the transition period with JNR vehicles. Compared to the current standard vehicle, there are some parts that are unsatisfactory, but it is also called a tuxedo body and has become a popular vehicle.
