I just bought one like new for $60 and it came with a ton of bag rolls and quart size bags, but it didn't have an instruction manual so thank you for video. Now I can start using it. 😊
I couldn't find a tutoiral for this model anywhere. My sister gave it to me because she is moving to Denmark and the plugs don't match. But she didn't guve me a booklet or show me how to use it. Your video was a life saver today !! Just divided, sealed and saved 30lbs of ground beef ❤
@@TechMadeEzy we've had a Food Saver vacuum for I couldn't even tell you how many years but it wasn't working properly so we purchased a new one. My elderly Mother decided one day to move the instruction manual and naturally forgot where she placed it so this model has been sitting for over 2 years. The day I commented on your post I noticed that the original one would stop vacuuming during the vacuum process. At that point I went to UA-cam and found your video which saved the day! I'm very grateful that you took the time to take the video and post it! I made a very large trip to Sam's Club and trust me I wasn't willing to discard the meat!
Thanks for the demo. I had my Foodsaver repackaged and ready to take back to the store when I watched this video. I was doing it all wrong with the bag roll!
THANK YOU THANK YOU for this! I also made up my mind to return the thing because I didn’t have the bags in correctly either😖 Now I’ve sealed up several things and am looking for more‼️
This thing is a piece. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You have to move the food in the bag around a little until the Foodsaver decides it's okay to seal it; you can't have more than 1 or 2 pieces of anything or it will not work. Sometimes, you need to take the bag out, do a little dance, reinsert the bag & it might work. Or not.
Please tell ppl to wash and reuse ur bags, Ziploc bags too. Keeps them out of our landfills. Of course, for potlucks and gifts u want to use new bags. I've been doing this ever since Ziploc was produced (yes, I'm that old) and have never had a problem.
I just purchased this exact model yesterday. I actually have the press the vacuum door after i press the long bar to get it to start vacuuming. It will jut humm and try to vacuum until I press the clear plastic vacuum door with both thumbs. this unit I thought would work faster that the 3300 model but it is just a slow. Not sure if it is worth the extra cost. Also the big roll of bags does not fit into the bag area. we had the reduce the roll by 50%
@@TechMadeEzy I don’t have one yet. Have been checking out videos and reviews. Your video was helpful as I said because you made the video after having used the machine for awhile. So many video reviews are unboxing/first use and they don’t know how to use it yet so it’s hard to get a good idea of the performance or features and first impressions can be very different from one’s thoughts after extended use. Been looking at various models and have pretty much narrowed it down to either the 5000 or the 5460, but I’m also looking at the Nesco V-12. Oh, and your Brooklyn is lovely. Thanks again.

If it’s the same model it has a cancel button you can hit to stop it, also when did you buy it? I would return or exchange it if the suction isn’t good.
The bags just got placed inside the machine and then you pull out the amount that you need and then you use the sealer. I'm so sorry I really wish I could show you
Thank you Caren, I’m new to having a channel but I enjoy sharing my opinion and how things work as well. I hope you subscribe to my channel. Have a nice night
The accessory is really used to take the air out of the small bags that are resealable for lunch meat and items like that. It can also be used to seal cans.

I just bought one of these and I also went out and bought a lot of meat I plan on Vapor sealing my meat and then taking this back to the store for a refund. Basically that's what I do I go out and buy something new I use it and then take it back after I'm done with it kind of like renting it I guess you could say lol.
You see, me I cut while dealing. This way it makes a nice strait cut. And I thing it was made to be done this way. I thing I red it somewhere. I had a hold one and never been able to cut nice and strait.

Thanks I'm glad the video helped and I appreciate your support
Thank you so much for sharing this how-to video! We've had it for 2 years and just today figured out how to use it. Thank you!!!!

Is there a drip tray?
There is a small drip tray in the sealer

Totally totally agree. It seems you can only vacuum one or two pieces of meat items or it will not remove all the air.
I have this it works great no problems
Thank you!!! I bought it brand new and NO instructions!! Who does that?!! So thank you again for your video.
Aww thanks glad it helped
Wow thank you for this review it was very helpful and rare to find since no else did a review on this awesome machine
Thanks Tina, It is a nice machine, I use it often. Thank you

I just use my two thumbs and it starts to vacuum if it doesn’t it’s normally because I don’t have the bag in the correct way or not enough sometimes
It would have been VERY helpful if you showed how to insert the roll of bags and where exactly to place the end of the bag to be sealed.
Thank you for the feedback
This helped me a ton! Funny enough, I was trying to do this with bagels I just made lol
So glad I could help Karen hope you subscribe more videos to come and thank you
Hey my friend- what happens when you seal your bagels "outside" the freezer- How long will they last? Thanks!
Hi I really Don’t know.
This was very helpful, thanks!
Thank you
Good review! Thanks.
How do you make the first seal? Like for the bottom of the bag. Did you show that part?
Hi Sherry
There is a knob on the bottom right , turn the unit on then turn the bottom right know and it seals the bottom part.
Would you happen to know if they seal mylar bags? Specifically I'm wanting to build a pantry of dry grains like rice, chick peas, kidney beans etc.
No never tried
Simple but to the point video! Nice job!
Thank you Dan
Helped me out thanks.
Thank you
Thankyou so much!!!
Thank you for watching Steve
great video thank you
Thank you Brandon
Rough or smooth side up is better?
I’ve done both sides , the roll I believe should be coming out from the bottom when it’s rolling if that helps.
If anyone wondering if they can double seal yes you can! I was very unsure but you can definitely double seal both ends of one bag
Good review. Thanks for doing the review after having and using it for awhile.
Love it, use it often saves me money and less waste. Do you have one snowpony? Thanks for watching 👍🏼

So.. say I opened a bag of cereal and just want to reseal the bag. Is it possible
You would have to first use the correct type of bag, not a serial bag. If you buy the food saver role, you can cut it open and you can reseal it again
Wow I have the same exact model, but it barely has any vacuum, and it also auto seals, I can't choose when to stop it. Nice video though!

@@TechMadeEzy Return in progress. Great company. Thank you for your input!
Glad it worked out, hope you enjoy your best machine
That's because it's a cheap piece of junk.
Hi I am looking for 2 FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer FM5380. Do you have any I could purchase or know where I could get one?
Hi Jane , I love helping my subscribers, where are you located ?
@@TechMadeEzy I am in Oklahoma but I can purchase from anywhere. Do you still use your fm5380?
I'll sell you mine cuz I think it sucks
How to add the roll of bags to machine to setup for the bags to come out
The bags just got placed inside the machine and then you pull out the amount that you need and then you use the sealer. I'm so sorry I really wish I could show you
What about a plate being seal with leftover dinner
Very helpful

Man I just used mine and the "dry moist" lights keep blinking and it doesn't work at all. Taking the B back tomorrow
Must be defective
how do you use the accessary?

I paid over 200 at Walmart a week ago
Not bad at all, I’m still using the same machine doesn’t wanna die

How do you vacuum jars?
Certain foodsaver have the accessory like this one then there is a food saver jar seal attachment they sell.
Will that attachment also seal Mason jars
Hi There is an accessory to seal mason jars that is sold by food saver
How do u clean your food saver
I take the plastic piece out and wash it and I use water and paper towels for the outside
@@TechMadeEzy how do you get the drip tray out?
Open the clear front and take out the grey slim tray it comes right out
Nice! I paid $10 at a yard sale 😏
Steal! Good luck
The blade doesn’t cut well but it definitely vacuum everything
It's still working for me after 2 years but I know it will get doll at some point
You must hit BOTH SIDES of the orange bar for it to start. An hour of cursing later and I figured it out.
Thank you.
my pleasure

Sorry to hear you have issues, I’ve been using mine for a while now and it definitely saves me money.
You sound like a pastor i listen too
Why thank you
WHY DID YOU VACUUM SEAL A BAGEL?!
If you have to ask then me telling you won't help. I love bagels and want them to last forever!
B-but then they’re smooshed! Lol
In this case yes but a smooshed bagel is better than no bagel and most of the time they don’t get that smooshed and I always have bagels 🥯
@@TechMadeEzy mmmm I see now
Anyway seriously thanks for watching my video I really hope it helped do you own a vacuum sealer babyturtle?
Clean your counters, seriously Bro.
It's not sealing,its pulling a vaccume
Hi Cindy After it pulls the air out it then seals the bag.
I hate this model. My last one was much easier to use.
It’s been working for years for me, which one did you have last?
So much unnecessary commentary
