A French tradition ... the annual grape harvest!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- In this episode we have the honour of joining the annual wine harvest with highly regarded bio-dynamic Loire Valley winemaker Fiona Beeston. Her traditional wine making method means her grapes are hand picked, hand de-stemed, aged in oak. Her traditional methods extend to tiling the soil with a plough horse. The result is sensational and makes her wines some of France's the most highly sought after wines. Don't miss the view from her incredible walled domain establised by monks in 1604!

What a great tradition of wine making! I love it! Also, side note, dear family friend is a vet and grapes and raisins can make your dog very I’ll and depending on the size of each can be deadlier then even dark chocolate. Our dogs have gotten into both and had their tummy’s pumped and long hospital stays a few quite touch and go. The things they don’t tell you when getting your fur babies! Love watching y’all over the last few years your doing a great thing for a beautiful place!
I was always told grapes are a no no for dogs! What a beautiful vineyard
Just be very careful feeding grapes to a dog they are Toxic to dogs . black currants are ok but not grapes . Beautiful video
Loved listening to this ladys process for winemaking. So wonderful and in harmony with nature ❤
This is so beautifully shot. It's wonderful to see so many people now growing Biodynamic and Organic wine. We just love Autumn in France and over here in Italy. Our favorite time of the year. Many thanks Maria e Rowan
Nice job on this bountiful grape harvest!
It was a bit disturbing to me to see someone feeding a dog grapes😮. Unless there is something different about these particular grapes, a dog should never eat them, since they have a naturally occurring chemical that can kill your pet if he eats it. My fear is that, since the dog liked the grape, he may find more of them to eat leading to tragic circumstances.😢😢
Le pavillon restauré est extraordinaire ! Bravo à tous ceux qui ont œuvré et à vous. C'est magnifique.
Thank you for introducing us to Fiona. You can hear her passion for the grapes and the land in her voice and heart. Bravo.
A glimpse of the completed section of the roof, it looks magnificent. What a massive achievement. 🇦🇺
It is so beautiful to see the completed part of the chateau in your opening drone shot......so beautiful and Congratulations on all that has been done thus far. So exciting and always look forward to your vlogs!!
Really enjoyed this. Thank you-
HOW LOVELY!! The drone shots, the closeups, the music, the sense of community... so wonderful in 2024 with war and politics and end-of-time predictions. Thank you for sharing that with us!
We're thrilled you enjoyed it. The vendange (or grape harvest) is a wonderful tradition. It all happens in a rush when the wine maker decides the perfect time to harvest has arrived. We respect Fiona's wines and were honoured to be involved. Thanks for your message!
I think feeling of community is amazing .
I'm assuming that there was a squeeze of grapes process there somewhere.
Felicity you're a great videographer and editor great job
Thank you.
I love the colours of autumn. Aren't they beautiful? Fiona and her daughter were interesting to watch and listen to. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing. It's a privilege to watch the chateau awaken. Your video coverage is excellent, and seeing the setting of the chateau's community enriches its authenticity.
Thank you for following our adventure. We're glad you appreciated being taken away from the chateau for an episode!
Seasons in Western Australia were way off too
Lovely friends doing it together. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Fiona makes fabulous wine - we were touched to be invited for the grape harvest.
I didn't realize grape vines could be 100 years old!
We're thrilled you enjoyed this little window into our life in this community here in France.
Recently discovered your videos and I have been binge watching the series (from Melbourne). What a monumental task. My wife and I love Paris and everything French and greatly admire your work and committment to saving this wonderful chateau. Well done and we will follow your progress.
I see Chinon! I lived there as a little boy. I noticed this week a shot of the chateau when your friend was talking about tractors. We lived there from 1963-66
The purfect additions to Pernon's channel. Beautifully filmed up close and personnel. This is a beautiful process with the horse I bet it's a better flavor not to have a machine involved. I would love a taste Mmmmm
Thank you for taking us along on a fabulous journey. Love my wine and this enforces it! (Love Fiona’s label, too)
Beautiful footage. I have never seen grape harvesting. How interesting! Thank you!
Today's vlog really gave me a new appreciation for winemakers I have grapes just for eating no time to make wine lol loved the vlog 🎉❤😊
Great video Felicity and Tim. Wonderful to watch and escape to after sitting at a computer all morning

Interesting process, thank you for sharing. 👩🏼👍🏼🍁🌹
What a lovely episode. So amazing and I wish I was there helping as well. The kindness of people goes such a long way.
Thank you so much for taking us along on the grape harvest. So good to hear that it is a biodynamic grower. Looked like a fun day.
Fascinating to see another aspect of French life!
What a beautiful experience to be a part of ❤
Great episode!
Thrilled you enjoyed it - wonderful wine!
Awesome attention to detail. ❤
Lovely.
My father was the last commander of the post there in Chinon before it was turned back over to the French government. I often purchase Vouvray and Chinon Rose when I can find it
