Maybe I’m just high but I feel like this was such a cool way to get kids to hear the different individual parts that make up the song and understand how it all comes together
No man you're totally right! There's a reason that even the trouble-making and unfocused kids wouldn't be able to look away when the the cool music teacher put this on, THIS is how you get kids into music!
Fun fact, the producers of this small franchise made sure the animation was as accurate as possible to the sound of the notes...so not only is this already an awesome franchise bc of the music and animation, but the accuracy as well
Back in elementary school we used to listen to this in art class on free days. Future Retro was the class favorite. Man this brings back some memories.
If you think about it "Future Retro" means "Thing made today that people in the future will remember fondly"... Well, we're in the future and Animusic is now retro
Same. Everyone in my class would beg my music teacher to play that one over and over. And of course as kids we would all "call" which instrument that we were going to be throughout the song
The composers were like "Dude, let's make the most memorable music of the 2000's." A pair of animators at the table next to them overheard and were like "Dude, why don't we make the most memorable music videos too while we're at it?" Thus, Animusic was born.
As much as I would have loved to see the whole original intro of everything turning on, this and all of the remasters are amazing. Thank you very much Julian!
I have all the Animusic DVDs and this is probably one of my most favorites. I love that kinda 80's sounding rock/metal of this plus those lasers are just so friggan cool. The first time I've seen any Animusic was seeing "Space Groove" from Animusic 2 being demonstrated on a home theater setup that was probably north of $100K, and holy crap, was that friggan incredible! Completely blew me away, and that was back in 2005. Of course, I immediately had to get the Animusic DVDs and try it out on my own HT setup. Even at 53 now, this still totally blows me away and also neat seeing some others attempting to create their own Animusic-like videos. Shame we will probably never see an Animusic 3, though.
If you want to see an incredible fanmade Animusic, check out Lasers Lights and Music! Not only have they done their own original stuff, they're remastering the entirety of the original Animusic by hand.
That guitar is so good. It’s so Uncanny, almost sounds like a real guitar but not. Even the pinch harmonics, string mutes and other characteristics are there
@@spongegobler3449 All of the motion of the instruments was dynamically generated from an input MIDI file, meaning that everything you're seeing in the video is not only accurate to the music being played, but theoretically they could've made it play an entirely different song just by changing out that MIDI file.
salvaging an old comment from another upload of this song. The synth represented by the lasers is from the Roland D-70, and the patch is called "Spit Brass"
The triple necked guitar, the pan flutes, and the choir lights have always been my most favorite ones. And also the choir lights really do look like street lights. And it sucks that we never see the biggest choir light do anything.
I have seen this since I was 2 and I am now 12 and it is still the best thing I have and will ever see in my life. Animusic will always be in my heart forever. ❤
This is the first song that comes to mind every time I hear the word "powerchord". Like, everybody has their own "oh the powerchord one" song, y'know, like something from Megadeth or Metallica, but for me it's this, no contest
FINALLY!!! Some capable enthusiast made a good upscale of the mediocre quality Animusic 1 DVD Thank you so much to bring this Classic into the HD quality age 👏
My old elementary school music teacher would play these and it was always the highlight of my day Seeing these now makes me remember that place, it's very bittersweet.
So, in the DnD game I run, my players were going to participate in a game of 'Gnoll Ball'. Essentially American Football crossed with Rugby and Blood Bowl. I played this music while reading off a little pre-written sports announcer-style intro for the game. A couple of the players actually asked me to play this track again during the game.
I remember my mum used to play this with a CD on the TV when I was a kid, I believe we still have it and it used to be my grandfather's whom I never got to meet because he sadly passed away when I was too young. But it just occurred to me now all these years later. It is weirdly nostalgic for me ahahah, another reason why my personality is weird! And also makes me connect with him a bit to love something he did too
Sounds soooooo cool! I will be sad if animistic is gone, although, it will never happen! In my music classes, my teacher played this song, it literally changed my whole life! I used to hate all music, now, music is my life!
YES MAN! I'm looking forward to the other parts and in better quality. #HYPE ‼Please share the videos of Animusik properly so that even more "see" this beautiful music!‼
I was introduced to this in math class, My Teacher didn't have any material for the day & was like "I'll put on a movie for ya'll" And it happened to be Animusic. I to this day thank him for exposing me to such a thing. :) Also the Guitar rift at 3:37 gave me chills!
Now,if you put Mozart's Eine kline nachmusic,or Bach's Fugues to that treatment, boy what would turn out! Consider that,in their day, those composers were radicals, and add Chopin,Hayden,Mahler,et.al,the repertory only gets better!! Thanks for the uplift of the day!! Thanks again!! 😊!
i watched it by first time in 2008, this video is the clear example that this production was some advanced for its time, this was a sample about music played and composed by the A I of today, if this had been in 2022 or this year 2023, this had been, A I creates and composes a music video
I think its funny that I remember some of these so much more than others because some were later in the CD that my music teacher would play. So we'd rarely get to some if time allowed.
In August 2019, the Animusic website was briefly taken down and replaced by a generic template with a small explanation that the site is undergoing a redesign. used to watch oeta all the time. very nostalgic actually think my introduction to animusic was in elementary school and an ati pipe dream demo running on a pc at a church i barely remember
Maybe I’m just high but I feel like this was such a cool way to get kids to hear the different individual parts that make up the song and understand how it all comes together
You're not wrong
good point! it helps to show exactly what instrument makes what sound!
Animusic is definitely a huge factor of why I'm really into music now
No man you're totally right! There's a reason that even the trouble-making and unfocused kids wouldn't be able to look away when the the cool music teacher put this on, THIS is how you get kids into music!
Nah man, you're spot on.
Fun fact, the producers of this small franchise made sure the animation was as accurate as possible to the sound of the notes...so not only is this already an awesome franchise bc of the music and animation, but the accuracy as well
The animations are fed a midi file which they use to recreate the movement. Pretty crazy.
These animations make me feel like someone can use them to create the instruments irl
@@user-rp3dv1cn4g Not to mess with perfection, but I'd LOVE to see what modern AI could do to put a spin on this footage.

If you think about it "Future Retro" means "Thing made today that people in the future will remember fondly"... Well, we're in the future and Animusic is now retro
Your class had good taste because my class wasn't paying attention during this song.
I was the only one in my school that knew what animusic was.
My art class did as well. Blew my mind as a kid, still blows my mind even today. I'm really sad that Animusic 3 never came to fruition.
Same. Everyone in my class would beg my music teacher to play that one over and over. And of course as kids we would all "call" which instrument that we were going to be throughout the song
So I’m guessing we all saw this in music class back in elementary school? That’s awesome
Yes
nope i watched it on my own on youtube. pipe dream was really popular in like 2010
primary school for me which is like preschool to 1st grade, i just now realize i had the coolest teachers i could’ve wished for
I remember watching this one time in 2nd grade
I was actually freaked out as a kid because of the synth at 2:23. Of course I faced my fears years later, but _damn_ was I a wuss back then.
I got showed this in a music class at age 7, I’m 23 now and still this is is awesome.
:D awesome!
Dur song
🤑
yea, same
It's shame in our gang, I'm 39 yrs old now myself
The mix of the power chords in the middle and the double blue bass lasers absolutely makes this song
The red laser synth is incredible.
I want to build one!
The lasers synths are always the best instruments in Animusic
red laser truly did carry this song imo
This one, and harmonic voltage are amazing
me too! i wonder what the instruments are talking about.
The composers were like "Dude, let's make the most memorable music of the 2000's."
A pair of animators at the table next to them overheard and were like "Dude, why don't we make the most memorable music videos too while we're at it?"

it was actually made by literally two people
Your comment is an insult to the entirety of Animusic as we know it.
@@rayganthetheremind1216well it is true
@@gingerjudkins5416 it was still only made by lit. 2 people
I think they were most likely at the same table, and only one of each, and also didn't overhear but were just talking to each other

I remember when this was on PBS back almost 20 years ago. "The future of music they called it
Our music teacher played this without the visuals and asked us to analyse the instruments. Then he showed us the video and blew our tiny minds
This one was one of my favorites when I was a kid
Mine was Pipe Dream

Of course, it was the most badass one out of all of them!

Even the speakers move in the background in relation to the music! Animusic was truly ahead of its time.
Me and my wife always love listening to this, it's played at least twice a day in our home.
This one is so the best one. The guitar, the drums, the bass, the melody man. So good
The freaking nostalgia.

Animusic really came out of the gate swinging with this absolute banger
