Do you work for Samsung, or what? 😂 I just literally set up my C350 55 inch Saturday night. The picture is EXCELLENT and the sound...fuggedaboutit! You can literally hear it from the basement into the back of the house at level 50 out of 100. I will not need a sound bar but I might want a subwoofer...but only because I want that cinematic sound. I love extra bass. Not because the " poor sound quality", as you'd suggested. Are you sure you didn't get a lemon? I paid $279 at best buy and couldn't be happier. This tv is actually very good. It's been updated a ton since I purchased it in early August. The fire interface is flawless & has a ton of apps/streaming options. Color, clarity, sound, motion handling, viewing angles & gaming all go off without a hitch. At $289, it's the best option in the entry level 4k class imo.
I hate the bias of these reviews that fail to recognise the fact they should be reviewing a TV based on the price range and not the fact that there is a $1000 tv that's better
Hello! Thanks for the feedback, that’s definitely an interesting point. One thing to keep in mind though, is that our testing is designed so that users can compare TVs regardless of price. The idea is to better highlight how a cost friendly model compares to a most costly one and whether or not it’s worth it for users to spend the extra money. Also, we do still try to draw references in our review to similarly priced models and our comparison/table tool will allow you to compare similar priced models or filter by price, so there’s lots of options for users who want to compare similar priced models!!
I saw the answer provied by RTings. So, I will ask RTings, "How does the inexpensive Toshiba compare to the expensive Samsung, Sony, and LG models specifically in those areas of 'Judder Reduction and Motion Interpolation' in regards to the 'Side Effects' produced from having those effects turn on with the more expensive TV sets?" I already know the answer. When you turn on "Judder Reduction and Motion Interpolation" to fight the problems of Judder and Stutter seen in high-speed scenes, you end up introducing two new problems that occur in EVERY scene. You introduce the problems of "Soap Opera Effect" and "Motion Blur." I own the high end 70" Sony and 75" Hisense TV sets with "Judder Reduction and Motion Interpolation." I always turn those features off - just as George Lucas recommends - because they introduce the new problems of "Soap Opera Effect" and "Motion Blur." I would rather see minor problems with Judder and Stutter in high-speed scenes rather than look at Soa Opera Effect and Motion Blur throughout the entire movie. Also, it is disturbing this year of 2024 that the high-end Hisense TVs (the U7N and U8N) don't even have "Judder Reduction and Motion Interpolation" compatible with the 24p60i technology used in cable boxes. The low-end U6N of 2024 does use that "Judder Reducation and Motion Interpolotation" compatible with the 24p60i technology used in cable boxes. What in the world was Hisense thinking by allowing the low-end TV to have superior technology in that area and taking a step backwards from 2023 - which included compatibility with everything if you wanted it. I own the high-end U8K from Hisense and a high-end Sony TV. My family and I don't like the "Soap Opera Effect," and we don't like the "Motion Blur" that you constantly see throughout a movie once you turn on the "Judder Reduction and Motion Interpolation." We turn those features "Off" - just as George Lucas recommends. That means the TVs end up looking just like the Toshiba TV in terms of Judder, Stutter, lack of Soap Opera Effect, and lack of Motion Blur.
I just got the 75" version from Best Buy for $569 and it is great. I've never owned an OLED or anything like that. This is replacing a Samsung 70" LED where the backlighting went out after 2.75 years. Movies look better on the Toshiba. The stand is surprisingly stable.
Me too just got a deal at Best Buy. 75 inch. Great picture. I hung it on the wall. I had a Toshiba 65" plasma and it's been a great TV but it put off so much heat it heated the room up too much. I'm going back and get the 65" to go over our fireplace in our living room. Can't beat these prices.
Yooo I’m about to go get the 75” at Best Buy as well for my front. I have a 65 “ Samsung which I love but it has lag. I have the Toshiba in 55” in my bedroom for past two year and I absolutely love the tv. The response time is quick and easy to navigate thru apps
QUESTION: You said the 50" model uses a VA panel. On the Best Buy website, Toshiba told me the 55" model uses the IPS panel and the 75" model uses a VA panel. I bought the 55" model in October of 2024. The 55" screen behaves like a VA panel, though. It has good blacks, but the viewing angles are actually bad. If you sit directly in front of the screen, it looks fantastic. But if you take one step to the side, the colors - particularly the color orange used in the VLC app menu - loses intensity and color. The blue colors are not affected as much. But, I have a feeling the 55" model I received in 2024 is a VA panel, not an IPS, even though Toshiba says it is an IPS. If anyone can confirm, I would appreciate the help.
@@KWM07 The TV starts out in "Movie" mode - which is intentionally dim. Put it on "Dynamic" mode and you will see the brightness is excellent. The 55" model uses a VA panel. I confirmed this by touching the screen. The person who did this review needs to do an update. The contrast on the 2024 model is excellent.
I bought this TV (75") and none of the reviews/feedback of Ryan are true, may be he did not use proper settings. This TV is best value for money and beats all TVs for its price. Fire OS is very stable and never disappointed, very fast to use, you have everything needed to download and use. The inbuild Alexa feature is advantage!!! Toshiba is now acquired by Hisense, hence the issue (biased feedback), however they are operating as different companies in United States and product is still from Toshiba (the real quality leader in electronics). Thanks to Ryan for his good work but I differ with his feedback on Toshiba TV!!! @Ryan, you may remove "stay away" statement from your rating! its a great TV for its price (all other QLED and OLED are just comparable to Toshiba C350)!!!
NOTICE: When you hear the words, "This TV lacks Judder Removal and Motion Interpolation," there are other ways of interpretating that statement compared to very expensive TVs. That statement also means, "This TV lacks the problems of Soap Opera Effect and Motion Blur that all the expensive TVs are forced to deal with as a result of turning on Judder Removal and Motion Interpolation." I owned a 70" Sony TV and I currently own a 75" Hisense U8K - both of which have "Judder Removal" and "Motion Interpretation." I was forced to turn off all the "Judder Removal" and "Motion Interpolation" features, because my family and I do NOT like the problems of "Soap Opera Effect" and "Motion Blur" that occur when you turn them on. You are trading the problems with Judder and Stutter for problems with Soap Opera Effect and Motion Blur. This is why George Lucas tells people to "Turn Off" all those features with "Judder Removal" and "Motion Interpolation" from the start in order to see programs as they were originally filmed. The only true solution to the problems of Judder and Stutter is to natively record things at a higher framerate. This is why TV shows such as sports and TV programs don't have "Stutter" and "Judder" problems seen in movies. The movies are recorded natively at 24 frames per second, while the TV shows and sports are recorded natively at 30 frames per second - which means there is natively less Stutter and Judder. The Toshiba TV is excellent and has the same "Smoothness" as my high-end Sony 70" TV and high-end Hisense 75" TV. I turn all those features of "Judder Removal" and "Motion Interpolation" off anyways, because they create problems of "Soap Opera Effect" and "Motion Blur." You eliminate one minor problem that is seen in some scenes of movies that are fast-moving, but you create problems that are seen in all scenes of movies. Technology still has a LOT of improving that needs to be done with "Judder Removal" and "Motion Interpolation."

I have gone through 3 Samsung TVs. All 3 have broke within 2-3 years because of a blown fuse. It is obvious to me now that fuses blowing up happens pretty commonly with Samsung TVs. I’m tired of it. Now I’m going to get this 50” Toshiba C350.
Many here claim the Toshiba is shit. I don't agree. Work with what you get here. Modify its settings to your liking. Don't go with this one review. Some reviewers of this set claim it's a fair device for what you pay. ♐
We bought the 75 inch c350 TV last October. It has a good picture, but it is annoying that it turns off after being on pause for more than 5 minutes. We can't find a way to change the settings. Anyone able to offer a solution?
I think most people here are missing the point the reviewer is trying to make. He's saying that for the same or similar price, you can find a better TV.
Thomas, I made a rotating stand (approximately 25'' x 14'') for my TV a couple decades ago... I still have it for my 43'' TV and it works as well as it did more than two decades ago... It is made with a ''double rotating rings'' (one inside the other) fixed between 2 melamine boards. If needed, with the same ''double rotating rings'', the two melamine boards could be changed for bigger boards to make a larger stand. It should be still possible to get some of these double rotating rings in different sizes to make even larger rotating TV stands for bigger TVs.
@@alexcoupe. he is right, got my hands on the 75 inch and it is tard better what's in the review. probably the one i have doesnt have firetv as it varies from region to region. picture quality is better and i have been playing PS5 games on it and i cannot find a real difference. though this doesnt have the HDR10+ but on a budget TV what can you expect
A 1000:1 contrast on a 55 TV these days is just unacceptable, no matter the cost. Keep your money and save up for something a little more and get from a company like Hisense who produce some excellent budget tvs.
An IPS panel with a low contrast ratio is better than a VA panel with darker blacks from the high contrast ratio. If you get even a few degrees off the center of a VA, you will end up seeing the "Blue" colors as "Aqua Green" and you see the "Bighteness" decrease. I personally prefer IPS screens to VA screens. Sports and News don't heven have "Black" in them, so IPS is fundamentally better for Sports and News. Movies have "Blacks,' but you need to decide whether you prefer "Color, Brightness, and Viewing Angles" to "Blacks."
I returned mine because I did not like the edges had a blurred shadow also I could see the blinking when it was trying to get bright it’s. A great price but would recommend a tcl or Hisense
I just got this tv but honestly it’s dim no matter the adjustments i make and it bothers me too much despite it being clear. I have checked if it has any power saving mode that i can turn off to improve brightness but no
Ive been checking some review and so far looks like he and his team has a different taste in tv.. Every reviews ive watched has no complaints other than audio almost all of then were suggesting external speaker if needed.
They didn’t survive. This is toshiba in name only they were acquired Compal electronics in 2015 out of Taiwan and later by Hisense in 2017. So this was them taking an established brand and helping them get into American retail.
I have this Tv. In game mode there’s a stutter every 5-10 seconds that’s not present in any other picture mode, however, the input lag in the other picture modes is noticeable. Any ideas? Firmware is up to date
@@RTINGSdotcom So you're trashing an "entry level" TV because it lacks advanced features that the avg person watching TV doesnt care about? And you missed that biggest thing that's actually wrong with it; the UHD sucks, and you can't disable it. The M550 version is much better in that respect.
Hey John, We’re not completely sure what you’re suggesting but we do want to tske this opportunity to stress the fact that we buy and review all of our own products. We also don’t accept any sort of incentives in exchange for a favorable review. Products (in this case TVs) earn their score due to how they perform on our objective testing methodology!
The remote controller is unresponsive. There's a disconnect between the remote and t.v, and sometimes it takes awhile for the op to respond to my commands. If that wasn't bad enough, now it won't even connect to the internet. I've tried everything to fix the problem! I even tried factory resetting and even that didn't work. I regret buying this heap of junk! Stay the hell away from it!
If you're able to get this TV for 50$, then yes it'll definitely be hard to beat when factoring price vs performance. That's a great find, we hope you enjoy it!
Yes, just a Toshiba in name only. Just like the 90's Pontiac GTO and Lemans were not like the 65 , 67 or 69 GTO or Lemans, only in name !! I Do own a 43" Toshiba/ Fire TV Edition ( 2019 model) that I was using my T Mobile Hotspot for the internet connection. I can honestly say that it was not attaining its full potential as far as resolution was concerned. Troubleshooting action taken : I bought a Linksys WiFi Mesh Tri-Band system, 4k Ultra HDMI w/Ethernet hooked up to a Marantz NR1200 receiver. Both the TV and audio receiver are connected to the Linksys node by Ethernet connection. Plus the fact that Amazon updated the software version September 15, 2021. The difference in the overall performance in both the resolution and speed [internet] is remarkable. Don't throw the baby out with the wash water , work with what you have 'cause what you get is what you got. I am very satisfied with what I currently have, after all it's taken me my whole life to get this far, so just be thankful for what you've got.
Rest assured, we buy and test all of our own products and don’t accept any incentives in exchange for a favorable review. So, there’s no room for bias or sponsors!
Ok, I see, so "stay away" really should've translated into "read the details and don't waste your time with watching the video." 😳 thanks for the effort anyways, it's helped me to avoid doing the grunt work! 😏
Well they do sell 4K TV's for cheap and are affordable to the common person who doesn't take into account specs and ratings. I bought one for cheap back in 2020 and it does serve its purpose for a room or a garage or work space. However, the 2021 model is a bit of a letdown compared to older models, which is strange. I mean if the price is cheap enough people buying at Walmart wont care.

Toshiba, JVC, Hitachi brands almost don't exist on the markets arround the world.
This kind of lame product is a shame for such an old brand.
I have a vestel oled 2018 model that is hitachi branded(HL9000G) so i know at least vestel use the hitachi brand.
A 1000:1 contrast on a 55 TV these days is just unacceptable, no matter the cost. Keep your money and save up for something a little more and get from a company like Hisense who produce some excellent budget tvs.
Toshiba's are made by Hisense now anyway, they sold their Television to them some years ago.
No thanks for Hisense, their quality control and motion processing (even worse than Vizio) is unacceptable.
Ips screen n low contrast r good for better response time basicaly to avoid black smearing n some overshoot
Does it have espn plus, paramount plus and peacock?
Good TV for price sound is only complaint overall 250 a great deal
Good reviews. Best buy have 65" for $300 now "Cyber Monday". 😁👍
i just bought one
Same
Such great price 👏 👌 👍
Stay away? It's perfect for the price.
Especially for what I'm using it for (classic videogame consoles)
If it works for you that's the important part! :)
I returned mine because I did not like the edges had a blurred shadow also I could see the blinking when it was trying to get bright it’s. A great price but would recommend a tcl or Hisense
foreal? im boutta drop $303.09 for a 55
Bought this TV in December and it’s been glitching after 2 months. Calling tomorrow and ask about warranty.
Don't think Toshiba as a company going to last for another 10 years.
I could be wrong.
Look at RCA.
They are somehow still around.
They didn’t survive. This is toshiba in name only they were acquired Compal electronics in 2015 out of Taiwan and later by Hisense in 2017.
So this was them taking an established brand and helping them get into American retail.
RCA was purchased by a Korean manufacturer and later a Canadian manufacturer.

Should I still stay away if the 75 inch is on sale at $490?
That’s a pretty good deal id say
Exactly why I am here lol. Can’t beat the price

Well I ordered mine couldn’t pass on that price
really great review. straight and to the point.. amazing
Review the flagship M550. I just bought the 55" and it looks beautiful.
The M550 is up on our suggestion tool! If you want us to buy and test it, make sure to vote for it here: www.rtings.com/tv/suggestions
Available in the US only? Can't find it in canada
I have this Tv. In game mode there’s a stutter every 5-10 seconds that’s not present in any other picture mode, however, the input lag in the other picture modes is noticeable.
Any ideas?
Firmware is up to date
Turn off allm worked for me..had the exact same number issue
Work perfect my Tv I recommended
I was going to buy a LG C1 Oled, but you talked me into buying this one!
Wait…this is Opposites Day isn’t it?
What you pay is what you get.
EXACTLY
Great review 👍
I bought toshiba 75" sound wont work using pioneer receiver
This review doesn't match my experience.... I love this t.v.
Does he realize that this Toshiba is really a Hisense TV only with a different name on it? 😂
Is it edge lit or d-led
backlight is edge lit, but for what it's worth, you can find this information in our reviews in the future!
What about Z770?
Its too cheap to ignore. I just got the 75" M550 model for $695. Ridiculous. Who cares how much gas is?
Hey Brad! You're right, that's definitely a solid price for a 75'' TV. Plus, if you're happy with how it performs, that's all that matters!
@@RTINGSdotcom So you're trashing an "entry level" TV because it lacks advanced features that the avg person watching TV doesnt care about? And you missed that biggest thing that's actually wrong with it; the UHD sucks, and you can't disable it. The M550 version is much better in that respect.
He was probably builied by Someone named toshiba in high school 😂
I get the impression that they hate anything that’s not $1000+
Where is the reset button on this please someone help me
You could try this: www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G6KMNP87MXGEHDGB

Hey John,
We’re not completely sure what you’re suggesting but we do want to tske this opportunity to stress the fact that we buy and review all of our own products. We also don’t accept any sort of incentives in exchange for a favorable review. Products (in this case TVs) earn their score due to how they perform on our objective testing methodology!
I just bought the 65 inch for $329 total
Hope you enjoy, that’s a good price!
Same best buy with the steal and it came with an echo dot
This is the only person I’ve heard to say stay away from this tv
funny you prefer Hisese I found out Toshiba is made by Hisense.
Z770K?
THE TV IS GREAT ❤
Seems to be a rebranded Samsung. This can be seen when trying to connect via Bluetooth. 😲
Weight and Dimensions (wall mount) ?
"pretty typical thickness" .... you never learned how to use a ruler ?
He has not been not shown any display at just hating on the product lol
Please review XiaoMi Q1 series and Redmi Max TV. Thank you
Unfortunately it’s not available for purchase in the US so we can’t buy and review it. Sorry about that!
This tv is very good.
Misleading review. Got 55" for $50 new and it outperforms the Sony equivalent.
If you're able to get this TV for 50$, then yes it'll definitely be hard to beat when factoring price vs performance. That's a great find, we hope you enjoy it!
Please review insigna F50 quantum dot edition, and compare it with Hisense A6g
Not even really Toshiba. Just a Hisense with a Toshiba badge on it.
Precisely
I am very satisfied with what I currently have, after all it's taken me my whole life to get this far, so just be thankful for what you've got.

rubbish review
Toshiba should quit TV buisness from the get go
Well they do sell 4K TV's for cheap and are affordable to the common person who doesn't take into account specs and ratings. I bought one for cheap back in 2020 and it does serve its purpose for a room or a garage or work space. However, the 2021 model is a bit of a letdown compared to older models, which is strange. I mean if the price is cheap enough people buying at Walmart wont care.
Toshiba didn't sell this,
Its Chinese company using toshiba software team
you should quit youtube
Heard Hisense requires tracking our data, to unlock features. Is this correct?
Don't buy Toshiba they break down & Toshiba don't want to know after the year is up & you have a fight with the retailer to get a repair
