- Hi all,
i picked up this 1/350 ship kit the Italian heavy cruiser Pola for £16.00 plus postage i think it would be a good starting point to get into 1//350 ships so lets take a look .
Regards Gav.
Great value for money, if you ask me. Nice review Gav. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Cheers George it was one of those buys for a rainy day . Regards Gav.
great to see you take on these kits Gav,gives the rest of us inspiration (in a small way)to dip our toes in!
regards,
Terry.
Thanks Terry there is always another project over the horizon . Regards Gav.
It's funny how you and I run parallel with our up coming projects. I just picked a ship model to build as well. Can't wait to see your work on this one.
Ooh i am looking forward to this one Victor good luck with the build marra . Regards Gav.
Very nice Gav looking forward to seeing you build and paint this, all the best, Garry
Thanks Garry ! Regards Gav.
Thats a nice looking kit. A real steal.
It will take some work Cal but for £16 it will be worth the effort . Regards Gav.
Oh and i think Pola is Pula in Croatia not Italy? But you know the history of the area, was austrian and Italian controlled.
This is a guess as I mind Pula was aso know as Pola by Italians, remembered from when we visited Pula, major naval base, we were told there were uboat pens there as well.
u can tell me if I'm wrong if u have time, save me looking it up.
Yes Paul its the place you described thank you and wikipedia ! Regards Gav.
@@gavinbooth that came from a holiday tourist information sheet stuck somewhere in my head, if i remember the street signs also have both croatian txt and possibly italian???
Very interesting vid Gav, watched a few of your vids while painting. For a couple of hours, you do so many periods scales
Thanks for taking a look Paul i have 6mm coming soon . Regards Gav.
Looks like a great kit,I'll be following with interest
Thanks Justin ! Regards Gav.
Another ship to add to the stash infact I think I have this in the stash I shall have to look and see if I bought any extras
This one will not see light of day for a while i will add things to the box when i can , but i will buy the new Takom frigate when its out . But now its saving up for Telford ! Regards Gav.
Fantastic Gav - looks like a cool project 👍🏻 looking forward to the build vids on it. Take care and catch you soon marra /Fredrik
Cheers Fredrik it will be a while yet but for the price i couldn't say no . Regards Gav.
Wow great price. Hobby Boss and Trumpeter are the same company, never seen a bow look like a stern before 😂 looks like you have your work cut out should be fun 👍🏻😎🚢
Cutting out is the right word but at least i have a few months before i have to tackle that ! Regards Gav.
Looks like a great kit for the price for sure Marra!
I think so marra ! Regards Gav.
Looks like a Nice kit. Weird the life boats in the instructions but aren't in the kit??? May sound strange but I like the red and white stripes on the front. I'll be watching
Cheers Mike this one will need a lot of work to bring it up to good standard but its a very good base to start from . Regards Gav.
How's the Mrs. liking the seemingly increasing model stash, Gav?
I don't know anything about ships, other than they float and make pew pew noises. Seems at that scale, half of your model is photo etch, which I'm always worried I'll mess up half of it trying to bend and glue it, and knock the other half off right after I paint it.
I am getting down my kit pile i will have three boxes emptied by the end of next week two more not long after then i am building another 1/35 out the stash so she has no complaints marra . Regards Gav.
Looks impressive kit, once it's ready.... but 2 years. Look's you have a plastic mountain, just like me. But looking forward on the progress Gav.
Frank i have known real ships take a lot longer to build than two years marra ! Regards Gav.
@@gavinbooth ha ha, but those won't fit on your desk 😊
Looks pretty nice for the price marra, :)
I think so Tom cheers marra . Regards Gav.
Gav, that kit was originally relesed by Trumpeter in 1999 and reboxed by Hobbyboss, Hobbyboss kits are normally packed a lot better, Sure you will do it justice
Well Stan thank you i am in it up to my neck now so in a few months we will get into it . As the motto of the channel is what can possibly go wrong ! Regards Gav.
Hi mate, you know I had hat in my hand yesterday. As I really want to do a floaty thing. I think I got this for around £10 I think. Me and Mike ( Modart633). We're thinking of doing it. Hope your all OK matey, family etc !!!!!
Cheers Steve it will take a bit of work for you to bring it up to scratch but it would be worth it marra . Regards Gav.
Thanks for a great review. I’ll be interested to hear more of your thoughts of Hobby Boss vs Trumpeter👍👌
Thanks Rick this is only my second ship so i don't have much to go on yet but Stan in the comments said that Hobby Boss and Trumpeter are the same people , And this kit first came out in 1999 . I do think it will be a good base for a build though . And i will have an update on HMS Kent this week . Regards Gav.
