Nothing to do with testing the narrative,it's about being factual and correct with your journalism and not just clickbait that simple Sam!! But to come on the show I will give you kudos for that.
He's a commentator and a radio presenter. As the presenter of a radio show with an element of interactivity on a station that specialises in argumentative, unbalanced discourse, it's very much his job to stir up shit.
Personally I think he's awful as a commentator and stealing a living on everything from football to Dancing on Ice. However, it's not his job to be balanced on Talksport.

They’ll come out with any shite to justify their agendas. Media and journalists should focus on the truth and the facts. FWIW I like Sam matterface, thinks he generally comes from a ‘fan’ angle. Can’t say the same about the majority of the rest of his colleagues.

If the club isn’t going into administration Sam (and you seem adamant about that) why didn’t you pull Perry groves when he said “if Everton don’t have a fire sale they could go into administration?” Seems very contradictory!

Fair play to Matterface for coming on. I think the fire sale administration narrative was coming more from Groves. Instead of simply saying Everton look like they will need to sell one big name player for PSR, it became an administration scenario which was infuriating when 3 of your best players are touted to be sold for £80m combined, when that would be the fee for Branthwaite alone.

Something that seems to constantly be ignored is that Spurs are in over £1billion of debt due money they borrowed for the stadium. They consolidated the debt and pay it off over a number of years, which means the stadium basically pays for itself. Everton will do the same once the stadium is complete and it becomes an actual physical asset
Yes, the Spurs model is very shrewd, they have the debt tied into very low interest bonds that are staggered to mature over long period of time. Meanwhile the stadium is more than just a football stadium - it’s an event’s destination (NFL, boxing, concerts etc) and an absolute cash cow. Spurs PL matchday revenue is only beaten by Man U’s; the stadium pays for itself while also helping them generate record revenues. If Everton can get anywhere near operating a similar model (and yes interest rates and construction costs are higher now) the new stadium will become a massive asset to them rather than the millstone the doom mongers are predicting.

Hes a football politician. Says an awful lot and says nothing at all. Respect for coming on but he's transparent.
This man should have been hauled over the coals. According to Matterface it was Groves and not him who said all of the offending statements. If you are a journalist you MUST get your facts right or you do t open your mouth. This man stated categorically that Pickford, Calvert-Lewin and Branthwaite were gone. I would have had more respect for him if he had challenged Groves and not just gone along with him. It just shows that he doesn’t have the foggiest as to what he is talking about.

We been selling players for 2 years, 2 points deductions, stadium on schedule but not complete. Money been borrowed from several areas and 3 years of relegation scraps of course people are going to speculate and to cap it all the people who were trying to buy the club have got their own issues. We need to be strong in the next 12 months and stay together and push for things to be run far better going forward.

Well done, Ped. I am not quite sure what to make of the interview tbh. I listen to Talkshite virtually every day but only because I live away from home and I need to be connected to the sports in the UK. I listen on their app on my iphone and the amount of times I want to fling it at the wall because of the shite that they spew about us is nuts. I haven't found Groves to be that bad tbh but Andy Goldstein is a piece of shite and his absolute hatred for Everton is unbelievable. I hope I one day just decide to never listen to that station ever again.

I think we should pay heed to what Matterface was saying: be very sceptical about any briefings from the club. Why believe the club if they say we are not in danger? Did we not criticise people for reporting the club’s briefing re the CEO being held by a fan in a neck lock? They also very indignantly said we were not in breach of PSR. Well, they got that wrong didn’t they? I don’t trust the club anymore. I don’t trust Moshiri.

It's peddling the wrong information. They can ask the questions (we welcome that) but putting out the wrong information is detrimental. This is exactly what happened with headlockgate.

Honestly, a pointless conversation. No idea who Sam Doesn'tMatterFace is. Not sure why Ped chose to start some useless twitter drama over whatever this guy said on whatever show he does. I honestly couldn't care less. Nothing that guy says on his shitty show effects me as an Everton fan.

Simple fact is Everton fans are (largely) more intelligent and therefore incompatible with the sort of crap that a station like TalkSport put out. Everything you’ve said Ped is spot on and us fans don’t mind AT ALL people laying into how the club is run because it’s been a never ending shitshow but what we DO expect is for people putting this stuff out to be well read and know the facts. TalkSport isn’t this sort of station so for this and number of other reasons (!) it’s best to disengage from the sort of crap they put out.
There'll be no administration, unless the owner wants it, and it makes no sense for that to happen. If it happens it is because he truly lacks the liquidated funds to maintain the club. That's his personal finances, and he's not going to tell us the truth either way on that.
In regards to player valuations, we have to be realistic, and it's a bitter pill to swallow. Branthwaite, DCL, Onana etc...we might well have to take a haircut on them ( hopefully on just one, not all) (again the final decision on that will rest with the owner)) if the club needs to raise it's own funds and needs to do it before 30th of June. It's not just Everton either, it's a buyers market, Newcastle are going to take a hammering on player values this Summer, likely Man Utd will too, a host of other clubs. If you own a Ferrari and value it at £1m, if no one wants to pay the £1m it's not worth the £1m other than on paper or in your mind. What we should be hoping for, is that two or three clubs come in for a player, and the price is raised through a bidding war.
What saddens me the most, is I just no longer trust any "official" statement out of the Club. I used to treat it as gospel. But they've shaken my faith once too often now.
Lots of us stood up and complained about how misjudged his programme was. Power to him for turning up but it was lazy journalism and a degree of sensationalism. These debts are for the stadium not day to day running of the club ffs. He is still getting it wrong. Utft

10-12 years ago it was brilliant. Accurate reporting, good banter, a bit edgy.

Nobody knows the truth. We've booked loads of gains since last year on transfers, but no one knows the cashflow or psr needs. What he did paint was a horrific fire sale at the detriment of our club. To be honest I think he was bang out of order. He has no idea if moshiri will fund it, whether creditors want their money back urgently or not. The club aren't going to come out and be honest if it means other clubs will exploit it. This is business.

Are you serious? Not only has Ped already won this war on twitter, he managed to get Sam on to own up to it and admit where he got it wrong. Did you expect him to just shout at the screen for 20 minutes? And what would happen if he did? He has represented Everton in fine fashion here, puttimg our case across, accepting our faults but pushing back on the false nararives, even calling out the hypocrisy of starting a serious conversation and then letting it turn into a pitch to sell our players on the cheap. He did much more than any representative of the club has in some time to preserve our clubs name and reputation here.

Fair play for coming on but "Clumsy?" It was half-arsed clickbait. Matterface and his ilk peddle sensationalism and will never let the truth get in the way of of that advertising revenue.
It was half arsed click bait, no doubt in my mind, but I think people like Sam are caught in the middle, I don't think they want this to be the nature of the show but the executives want high viewing figures and this kind of shite is what gets the crowds in. He seems genuinely conflicted on the issue of sensationalism, almost like he has convinced himself this is part of a football journalists job, not just to tell the story but to try and sell it too even if it means suggesting possible consequences you know to be untrue but could be believed to exist.

The 777 deal should have been dead in the water are at the from the end of december when it was clear that no approval was coming and the debt to 777 partners was around 80 million pound. It is admirable to want to self fund the staduim. I feel it would be would have been better to accept the councils offer of a loan to with low interest for the stadium. This video is great ped san seems like good guy who care about getting the right imformation. Moshiri is a clown. The narrative around from other fans say we are an awful fan base because the only get snippets of what going from lazy journalist who recycle old articles with very little truth.
