The village of Uafato Fagaloa is situated at the eastern end of the Fagaloa Bay and is geologically held to be one of the earliest settlement areas in the whole islands of Samoa dating back to about 3000 years (Green and Davidson 1981). In line with these geological findings, oral traditions and legends held by the village often tracing its roots back to Lūfasiaitu who conquered the Tagaloa family when they stole his Sa-Moa (their version of how the name SAMOA came about..!).
Listeners can find most of these gems preserved in these songs..there are some places where it's particularly blurry and one cannot really tell the words but most of it is clear...!
