TORNADO THREAT IN LOS ANGELES last night with five day atmospheric river event!

  • Storm chasers Reed Timmer and Jony Hallen intercepted a funnel cloud in Dana Point, California and a severe thunderstorm warning with #tornado possible tag in Downtown Los Angeles! This was on day 4 of the category 5 atmospheric river event that clobbered parts of central and southern California with record-breaking rainfall. UCLA campus measured 12.67 inches of rainfall in a 24 hour period. This video concludes our coverage of this historic weather event. We wonder if an ARKstorm will happen in our lifetimes. An arkstorm is an atmospheric river event that persists for weeks, overwhelming all flood control mechanisms. If this happens, we will be there to intercept this storm and increase awareness for those in its path.

It cost a lot of money to drive that thing around, he only uses that when the tornado threat is super high and he wants to get close to them. The gas mileage is terrible and there are so many moving parts to the dominator that can have problems when it is used a lot.

yes, the 97 el Nino was also memorable, but I think we got more rainfall in 82-83 el Nino, but that was more spread out throughout the winter season, 97 was spread out thru February, this was simply all at once, and if you look at local history records you'll find this isn't unprecedented, this has happened here for centuries with the worst happened in 1864, 30 inches of rain recorded over a 20 day period, in fact it's the one event that ended up destroying the cattle industry for SoCal, Santa Ana River overflowed all the way to the Los coyotes hills, the city of Stanton became an island, it rerouted the brea creek to flow towards the San Gabriel when it used to flow towards the Santa ana an the canyons of la Miranda were entirely submerged under 10 feet of water, the big diffrence is all the development meant to control all that flooding, in fact each of these flood events are what prompted the flood control systems in the 1st place, a flood in 37 in OC forced the building of that dam in corona so OC would never see a flood again where people were canoeing down harbor blvd

@jamesturner6949 Scientists know about cyclicity through studies of ice cores and Quaternary geologic deposits.
The oldest ice preserved on Earth is 800,000 years old. Scientists at special research stations in Antarctica and Greenland take samples (cores) from this ice and study the sediments it contains, including volcanic ash, dust, and gases. Radiocarbon analysis of these sediments reliably shows what natural disasters have occurred on our planet over the past 800,000 years.
