I have one. It's a great radio for my house. I set it up high out of the kids reach and can walk around the house with a Bluetooth headset and the blue tooth PTT button that comes with it. Works great.

A group of us bought this radio at Orlando Hamcation 2020 and its definitely a work in progress. The manual is limited in describing features and settings, the app works ok however, recommended the Google store app as it removes a few bugs. We have successfully linked a local repeater and the remote users sound clear. The app itself is a bit sluggish and I believe their server for network channels needs some work. I like this radio!

Question: can you program this from something other than the App? I really dislike typing anymore than i have to on a phone/tablet vs true kb/mouse at my desk. A very big repeater list may be annoying

I have one set up as one of three radios in my Gatorbox go box. It’s APRS, Part 90, and is the easiest radio I have seen to program on the fly. It says it cross band repeats, but only from APRS to analog. Pushes a true 50 watts.

This is a neat idea. I bought one and used it for a week but the front end overloading is bad enough to make me return it. The paging systems and other RF noise just obliterate the receiver. I can’t use pl decode on a lot of channels since the repeaters don’t transmit pl decode. To bad since it’s a good concept.

I see this as a great option for a stealth mobile rig to mount in the wife’s car. She probably wouldn’t even notice it if i mounted the radio an mic under the drivers seat and if i ever get stuck with her car or in case of an emergency i could have communications with her.

I use my cell as my microphone, speaker, programmer, pretty much everthing I need for this radio I do with my cell. Works great. There is a google group for it and a special little microphone that makes it really easy to set up and eliminates a lot of mistakes you might make otherwise. The manual was written by a UK HAM. It really does a lot, Amazing for the money. N6GRG (Oh, and the receiver is absolutely excellent, but it doesn't cross band repeat. )

Feel free to join the Facebook group for the radio for updated instructions, and additional help. Group is called Vero VR-N7500. One of the guys there has created several documents and even UA-cam videos to help out with the radio. You can even create an internet group and forward the traffic to and from the radio to the internet group and allow them to transmit to the frequency was binded to. Lots of features for sure. One more thing your right you can hook up to the car radio. I hooked it up to Android auto radio and worked fine. 73, KC3IGM

I bought this because it doesn't have DMR/DStar/Fusion. The Android App (8.1) is responsive and gives good audio with the right phone. Woeful instruction manual, but there is an English PDF manual floating about the 'net. The market is flooded with digital gizmos from the Japanese majors and some Chinese, but they missed the market segment this hits square on - VHF/UHF FM mobile users.

A little expensive giving the fact that you need to provide a cell phone or tablet to use it. Maybe even a little over complicated and introducing more points of failure with all the Bluetooth connections. I think it would be good to see the application available for all the newer vehicles that have a screen in the dash for infotainment and stuff. Then you install the body out of the way run a mic extension and all you have visible is the hand mic.

Same question about the bt ptt switch, once pressed will it stay in tx? BTW, nice job going over the transceivers functions. What I am hoping is when I bt connect to my car's bt system, I will be able to hear through the car's speakers, but also when I press on the car's mic button it will go into transmit. From my experience there is no limit to 16 channel zones as it is all stored in the app and controlled by the app. The radio will store the last 16 channels used when you turn it off. So if you were to turn it on with out the tablet the last zone you used would be available only. So you need to use the android device. From what I understand the app is open source but have not messed with that side of the radio.

@@HamRadio2 The APRS is all via the phone, the App can do APRS without radio into the network. Plus there is network radio so it can do RF into the radio and then into a Network channel (their own network). with permission of a Nework owner it can Network out to RF. Amount of memories per group is 16 and there seems to be no limit to the number of groups you can have. Min G0JMS

@@HamRadio2 Yes the oldest version it will work on is V5 and will only connect 1 BT item, any thing from V6 to V10 is OK. If people find the radio sluggish on BT I would suggest they are best to reset the radio in General Settings the "Reset settings" button. Min G0JMS

That looks WAY too tedious to program! I prefer the ability to do ad-hoc changes with either a front panel or mic-based controls. My opinion, YMMV!

I would never just allow a Chinese company to have all that access to my cell fone thru the APP, In fact if any APP wants access to my contacts, photo's etc, I dump it and will not use it. Allow, allow, allow is a mistake if you value your privacy on your fone which I do...

I have been using this radio since November 2019 and really enjoy it. If you have one check out the Facebook group facebook.com/groups/2285774288379471/ G0JMS of the UK has written the manual for the radio. You can get the app from the google play store, which is the most recent version of the app. The radio can do SSTV (without any additional hardware or software) it encodes and decodes from the app, APRS, network radio function and even simplex repeat function. I have had solid signal reports from all the repeaters in the area and even on simplex. I I have even been able to get the network function to crosslink to zello and analog all at the same time. This radio has much much more to unpack than this video is showing!!! What is a good contact email where I can send you the manual the group has been working on? It will help you as you start discovering all its features.

Pretty lame to record a video on a radio that you have no clue how to operate and hear you mumbling about it.
a bit of advise: next time play with the equipment a bit before you run a video, second time: cut the crap in edit, we are not interested in failed attempts.

Who is "we"? Have you polled the entire UA-cam user base? Or are you making assumptions based on your own opinion?
As I said in this video and many others, and how lots of subscribers have also commented, my videos are a learning experience. Others may have had the same issues I did, and I'd like to share how to get passed them. If you don't like the format that's fine, but don't make assumptions for everyone else.
