and who said Cayala is for tourists? Cayala is one of many other places in Guatemala as nice as you can get. If you feel uncomfortable there go to other places where you can expect seeing more poverty or more "Guatemala" so you can't say, I didn't expect to see this in that country.

En realidad la ciudad de Guatemala no es para el turismo sin embargo recientemente varios UA-camrs han empezado a hacer videos sobre la ciudad y todos sus lugares incluyendo Cayalá. La ciudad de Cayalá no se hizo para el turismo sino como opción para vivienda y comercio para los ciudadanos pero los UA-camrs han ido y han hecho videos sobre el lugar. Viendo que a los UA-camrs les ha gustado, por esos se ha empezado a recomendar a los turistas.

la verdad las cadenas internacionales de comida tienen muchisimos años de estar en Guate, y cada vez hay nueva competencia de emprendedores locales por lo tanto no es mal la competencia

No se le puede exigir mucho a Cayalá, al final de cuentas no deja de ser una ciudad artificial y hecha principalmente para gente de "Clase media alta". No deja de ser una oferta mas de lo que se puede encontrar en la ciudad. Hay otros puntos de interés como el centro histórico donde podrán ver la vida del capitalino común y otros barrios como Cuatro Grados Norte. Ojalá vuelvan en otra ocasión para terminar de conocer lo que no pudieron, lamentamos lo de las protestas pero es necesario y hasta hoy 06 de noviembre las manifestaciones continúan, ¡Saludos!
it wasnt made for upper and upper middle class exclusively. it was made for every class the developers talk about this.
the place is beautiful and people like it so much it created huge demand, just like any other nice places people build, so the prices went up because of that.
this happens everytime an actually nice town is built or already exists because theyre rare. supply isnt meeting demand.
Cayala isn’t the big deal, there are many nice places in Guatemala City, the rich areas and you have the middle class areas like cayala.
What are they protesting ?
Resignation of the Guatemalan attorney general Consuelo Porras and chief of the public ministry Jose Rafael Curruchiche. Also demanding respect for democracy to have a smooth transition to the new president elect Bernardo Arévalo in January 2024.
