We need more artists like Mike Patton in the music industry now. He is the only artist who strives for complete originality and does not copy and paste the same shit from the previous album over and over again for 10 years straight.

Most people just don't get Mike Patton and he doesn't care if you do . That's part of his appeal . His voice is velvet with broken glass glued to it . No one can touch him as far as I'm concerned .

This made me happy. Mike Patton is arguably one of the most interesting cats working today. He's bright, fearless, and simply could not care less what anyone thinks about his career. It's refreshing to see passion like that, whatever form it takes.

I like a lot of RHCP songs, but you need to admit that during the 90's they were all a bunch of egocentric junkies. Their lifestyle killed Hillel and almost killed Frusciante, also they affected other people close to them, like River Phoenix. Mr Bungle was a fucked up band (in the good sense), but they weren't into heavy usage of drugs and didn't like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers-way of doing thing. Also, the europe shows helped to make the feud between the bands stronger.

I like "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic" and oddly "One Hot Minute" better than all other Chilli Peppers' albums. I mean how in the fucking hell can you go wrong with Mike Patton, Buzz Osborne, Trevor Dunn, and Dave fucking Lombardo? MIKE PATTON = ROCK GOD!!!!

It's funny, from what I've seen in interviews, videos, magazines on the subject of the feud. It always seemed Patton just wanted to bury the hatchet and be cool with the RHCP. Even after the first lash out from Kiedis, Patton never retaliated. He even said to interviewers that he still thinks he is cool with RHCP and it was overblown. It was only years later after being kicked from concerts, did he finally get mad enough to do something about it. His last time ever discussing the feud. He said its old shit, and if he ever sees Kiedis he would hope they could just shake hands and have a laugh about whole thing.

Yup! They both were trying to be unique, but beside the theatrics, probably the rap bits, and even the fan base. They were still were very different in lyric context and overall instrumentals. Btw to be fair Patton is bit conceded himself. (Tried to come up with a better term) Regardless Patton comes out the better man in this situation.

It's contextual...Faith No More got big in an effort by the label to cash in on the sound the Chilis had paved the way for...Mike had just joined the group, and if your first exposure was the "Epic" video, it's easy to get the impression that they were a commercial rip-off of the Peppers, especially looking at Mike Patton...even they're actually pretty different bands musically

Although, I think Bungle was doing the chilli pepper spoof for a few shows by then. Doesn't matter. They didn't do it for the whole show, and even when the band was taking intermission, Patton was still doing his solo keyboard & voice thing... I ran up as they were clearing people out after the show, to shake Trey Spruance's hand(Bungle's guitarist/songwriter, also of secret chiefs 3), all painted up for Halloween. That's one of the best concert memories I have.

The chilis have a totally different sound then fishbone. They're both funky very distinct from eachother. And they were good friends coming up in the L.A. scene.

      One of my favourite jokes:
Showing ppl Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy. "See, this is intricate shit you can only achieve by programming beats for hours and hours."
Then playing DEP+Patton - Come To Daddy.
      Oh the joy!

The last minute or so about Patton being versatile in so many genres, I would like to say if it wasn't for Mike Patton doing so many different things my musical taste would be bland. He's not the only reason but he helped.

if music were religion, it'd be like comparing a local small town evangelist to God himself. On the 7th day Patton rested and ate a crunchy sounding sandwich throughout an interview as he rested. On his best Sunday, Kiedis just sent around a collection plate and prayed for the best.

I ADORE MIKE PATTON: The first song I sang to my niece, who made me an "auntie" first, was "Mystify". I FUCKING LOVE MR. BUNGLE! I reference "Sweet Charity" in a short literary piece..first time I referenced music in my writing. Yeah..kind of a big fan.

I remember some of these Bungle hoedowns on 2nd Street in Eureka at Theo's, the clubs downtown and the aftershow coffee at Appleby's. Mike and Trey worked almost every waking moment, studied every composer, practiced relentlessly.

Mad yes, but you are flame in Ocean of the same. Thank you that you make music in any shape or form. I always struggled in each of his projects and had to increase understanding of music or just art of the mind. Every time feel locked I turn of California and something comes alive. Thank you to inspire as the city in the heart of the feet of a mountain have done before
