These are what our school district bought for us this year.
First week was rough. Some points where pieces come together felt thick and rubbed.
Leather is breaking in and becoming more comfortable around ankles. Soles are comfortable for a work boot. Tongue has good design to keep water and debris out.

I love build quality of my Carolinas, I just hate how high the heel is on the ones I have, but thats my own fault for buying that style. I also had a pair of the Jim Green Razorbacks, and I loved them for about a year till the side wall blew out on one. They were for sure the most comfortable work boot for hiking that I've owned.

I over-researched the Moc-toe boots and fell in love with the channel. I had REALLY wanted Red Wings but they felt so clunky and were really hard for me to put on (maybe because of my gut?). That plus a comment (from this channel I believe) about the break-in period on the RW's and how the reviewer "lost chunks" of his heel during the process. Ultimately I chose Thurogood's as well and am happy with them.

When you were talking about that glue down piece of rubber on the bottom and the delaminating on the sides that actually does happen with a lot of the Irish setter boots that are made in the same way and I also actually have a pair of redwing boots that are not made in the United States, which is the traction tred light. It does have a good year welt, and the welt is actually leather and it is stitched in front by the toe, however it is already starting to delaminate at the ball of the foot on both sides and in the back the rubber is already starting to wear into the cushion area and that is probably going to delaminate as well. The outsole on that boot is actually a Vibram outsole, but none of that matters if the rubber starts to delaminate. I can always put some shoe goo on there but for $235 you would expect it to hold better. I think that would be a good boot for you to test.

Just had to go over them with saddlesoap and then rub them down thoroughly with brown polish and mink oil so the motor oil stains don't stand out so much.

I really like the way you cut the boot in half. Every boot manufacturer should include one of these views in their description of each boot. Im on my feet 8 and 12 hours a day. Sometimes 6 and 7 days a week, so comfort is the most important factor for me. I had been wearing Georga Boot with a double stacked comfort core insole for about the past 15 years. They needed almost no break-in. By using this custom insole inside the boot, the sole had to be hollowed out to accept this really thick insole. In turn, it made the sole of the boot a little thinner than most, so the bottom of the boot was really flexible, and it was like waking around on a cloud. God, I miss them. Discontinued. I will keep watching, and hopefully, you may help me decide on an alternative. Thanks!

Thanks for this, dude. Framer here in the market for something a little nicer than the Ridgecuts I finally wore out after 2 years. I thought something was fishy when all the high-SEO review sites comparing these to other boots had affiliate links and sounded like paid advertisements for Brunt. Gonna go with Redwings instead.

Magic spoon cereal is gone so fast because it's a 7 oz box. It says there are FIVE servings in that tiny box. LOL. That box is actually 2 adult servings. For reference, a regular box of cereal is usually 10-11 oz.

It's amazing how many people rave about how great the Brunts are. I decided to go with the Rock Rooster Vap611 a couple of years ago and they are so comfortable. I bought them over the Brunts after watching this video. I'd honestly like to try them to see how comfortable they are but I honestly wouldn't pay more than $50-70 for them.

I've had a pair of the Marin comp toe for almost a year. They've held up great working in a heavy duty diesel shop and roadside repair working 60+ hrs a week and on the weekends doing stuff around the house. For $139 I can deal with a few qc issues. What I can’t stand, is how bad Thorogoods qc has gotten. I really like Thorogood boots. I had one pair so far and they were the most comfortable boots for the longest amount of time that I’ve ever worn. The problem I have is, I have to go through at least 10 pairs to find one that fits normal and doesn’t have glaring issues. I know, I know, they’re hand made, they’ll have inconsistencies. Well I don’t accept major inconsistencies like messed up stitching or poor fit or gouges in leather when I’m paying $250. I really hope Thorogood reads this.

Great video.. I'm going to try the carolina boots next. These brunt boots are good for 6 months in my opinion. I'm on my second pair now. The price is pretty good but that thin sole wears down pretty fast. Red wing wedge sole is pretty much the same 6months and the sole is done. But redwing does offer resole option for $150. But in my experience it took 4-5 months to get my boots back which led me to trying Brunt boots. Overall I'm pretty happy with Brunt for price point and comfort but durability isn't quite there yet. So carolina boots are my next choice for $60 bucks more. And if they match brunt comfort with added durability like atleast a full year worth I can live with the price and may have found anew boot.

Been wearing these same brunts for 1year. Took the longest time to break in, just very stiff.
    Holding up fine.
    Very good sole wear.
    Overall good comfort.
Eyelet / lace they use at the top should be the industry standard.
But they shipped laces that are way too long.
Not a true wide of that’s what you want, which it seems is most boots. The toe box will squish out over the sole width if you’re a EE.
The leather does not get that same patina that you would expect. They turn a weird oily rust color.
I’ll use em up, but like the man said, spend a little more if you can.
