yeah go into the emerald cave(spawn at desert go to sky island direction right a bit and you will see a big rock, mine that) and go into cave turn right and you will see emerald lodes
to the spider i would instantly look for a towel or something and try to cover them and step on all parts to kill most and after i would most likely get a bin and bring them to kitchen or bathroom to put them down the drain
