The industry almost always show bikes in the catalogs in the big ring. At least that's what my memory banks say! Either way, they look best this way. Just doesn't present as well in the middle ring. Plus, there's nothing "stretched out" by the rear derailleurs. They're built to handle all positions, so you aren't exceeding the spring's range.

I have a GREAT Guerciotti story. Briefly:
Friend in High School got a ticket FLYING down a steep LA hill on his prized Guerciotti on a hot day in a skinsuit. He hit almost 60mph in a residential district and got a FAT ticket. His mom was gonna KILL him. He was dead. So he naturally hides the violation and secretly goes to traffic court.
Judge looks suspiciously at said kid who got a ticket for almost 60 in a 25. No chance THIS kid is gonna skate! Damn kids! But then judge looks quizzically at the violation and asks, while absolutely mangling the name, "What kind of car is a 'Guercirotti'?"
      Kid: "It's G-u-e-r-c-i-r-o-t-t-i, and it isn't a car; it's a bicycle..."
Judge: "A BIKE???!!!! No way! Case dismissed!" Get outta my courtroom!"
      Best bike story ever, right???
PS Unfortunately he threw away the ticket. This was something to FRAME and hang on the wall! Bummer, but he had to destroy the evidence!

    John, your bicycles look great.
I guess you spent a huge amount of money, did you?---
Thats where I want to ask you for an advice.
I am looking for a race bike that is good looking, marvelous moving, high quality and stable in value.---
I quite like those colnagoes with artistic paintings on the steelframe (only of course).
As you got that colnago master piu, I have seen an offer for a colnago master olympic.
It was offered for 1500 €.
Framesize 63 cm plus 4 cm overlong seat post shaft.
At the first sight I thought that is exactly what I was looking for, but in the second sight I was irritated about the fact, that this beautiful bike has not been bought for at least over 6 weeks though more than 400 interested people had seen this offer.
I wonder weather I assess this bikemodell right or wrong.
Do you think that you can give me any advice at this point?
    With best regards

If you didn't see anything you liked, then you lack an appreciation of the sport's history and evolution. These are the epitome of the 80's and 90's bike lines. These represent just a snapshot of the industry, but an important step along teh way. They're what few could afford and ride. Most of us just dreamed of these while riding more modest steeds.
