I want to point out that she did this in THREE MONTHS. Most hair hanging aerialists take years to be able to do this routine. She did it in THREE MONTHS with a VIOLIN. That wasn't just pain on her face, it was the determination to overcome fear and pain and to DO the thing she set out to do.
As a chronic pain sufferer, i felt very connected to this because I get up every day and DO even though it hurts, even though i might feel like my body is on fire and I am weak. That determination in her eyes is *everything*. Maybe she can smile the next time she does the performance or maybe she never does it again.
Doesn't matter, she set her mind to it and did it. And overcoming that pain and fear is the most beautiful part for me.
Incredible, simply incredible
Could she have not just worn a harness for this amazing video?
I just wish she DOESN'T do that again. I wanted to come and get her from that thing :( it's painful to watch such a good person suffering, even because of her choice. Maybe the same way the Apostoles saw Christ suffering on the Cross. Oh my do I understand them now.
@@mellivorasoftware996 I doubt she would want you to compare her pain to that of Jesus Christ.
@Vilfredo Pareto I´d argue that most of her fans do know she´s a Christian. She´s has been pretty vocal about it in the past, you know. :D
Everyone: "there is no way she can top dancing and playing violins"
Linsey: "Hold my hair"
Lindsey will continue to be Lindsey. She will go down in the history books and stay there for centuries.
Lindsey is immortal.
😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣💕💕💕
Lol! 😂
👌👍❤️
Epic!
The pain she endured for the art, fans and music. Im speechless!
Breathless too
blablabla she wanted this....
@@elybelldandy2138no seas ignorante
THIS is what merit, talent and determination look like people. Stop trying to take it away from those that have it, and do something with yourself rather then trying to bring standards and everyone else down to the lowest level. THIS is the height of achievement. Reach for it. Aspire and become better!!!
Difficulty: legendary.
Performance: Stellar
Artist: 10/10 won't do it again...

If you've followed Lindsey's vlogs at all on what she had to go through to prepare for this, you likely ended this video as I did, with tears in your eyes. It's odd to feel so proud of someone you've never met but this girl... she's absolutely incredible.
Whats the TLDR?
😅 cmon
She's is amazing and yes, I cried too
@@Tech_-on1ou A lot of self doubt that she could do it, a lot of pain, and a lot of her hyping herself up.
Absolutely! So proud of her! I saw the vlog of her in tears trying to get this done! Her commitment to her craft is amazing!
UPDATE: This video STILL gives me goosebumps a month later!!
I cried! Lindsey, I’ve followed your career for over 10 years! My sister introduced me to Elements, and I’ve been jaw dropped and hooked ever since. Your work is literally the pure definition of raw beauty, talent, and energy. Just pure art at its finest! After watching your hair hanging vlog, then this, I was literally in tears! So proud of you, yet insanely inspired to push through everything that is an obstacle in my life, because you may be closer than you know. I’m no longer LDS, but coming from someone who was also apart of the church, That CTR ring must have really made an impact! (If you had one) cuz girl, you definitely chose the right direction! It must have taken a long time to not only discover your niche but hone in on it and perfect it. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU LINDSEY!!! Just know you have a cheerleader on the other side of the internet!!!!!! I’m a forever fan ❤️
That might be the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen

One of the greatest things about Lindsey Stirling is her ability to take criticisms as challenges.
She wasn't good enough for America's for talent 😂 she showed those judges she has more talent than all of them combined
@@Twallrion I just discovered Lindsey, went back and watched her America’s got talent bit. Let’s face it, they were right back then, she did miss notes, she even said it herself. But she’s improved immensely since then, now they can’t say she’s not good enough... and what’s this “more talent than all the judges combined” of course she does, she had more talent then them back then too. The judges are there to judge not to talented.
@@Twallrion didn't she get voted off by fans, not the judges? I might be remembering wrong.

NOT TO MENTION, BEST AND COMFORMIST VIOLENIST, TOTALLY BEAUTIFUL ❤️ INSIDE AND OUT, DEDICATED, FOCUSED, IN MY OPINION. ( AND I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE) WHEN I SAY ONE OF THE MOST DIVERSE, HARD WORKING. ( BUT I KNOW THAT IT'S REALLY NOT WORK FOR HER) ONE OF MY FAVORITE SAYINGS IS. THAT IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO AND HAVE THAT PASSION TO SEE YOUR DREAMS AND STRIVE FOR IT. YOU'LL NEVER WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE 🙏. I KNOW THAT THROUGH HER EVERYDAY AND LIFE STRUGGLES THAT OTHER THAN THE LORD ALMIGHTY 🙏. SHE LOVES WHAT SHE DOES, SHE CAN AND WILL ADAPT TO ANY MUSIC THAT IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER HAS A MESSAGE, OR INSPIRATION, AND A STORY TO SHARE HER AWESOME 😎💕 GIFTS , AND TALENTS , AND LOVE FOR LIFE WITH THE WORLD 🌎,. I HAVE A DIVERSE LOVE FOR ALMOST EVERY KIND OF MUSIC IN THE WORLD. BUT SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CHILD OF GOD 🕊️ HAS CAPTIVATED MY HEART ❤️, MIND, AND SOUL. RESTORED MY SPIRIT SOMEHOW THROUGH CHRIST. I GUESS HONESTLY. I WAS NEW TO THE LORD 🙏., ALONE BY CHOICE BECAUSE I HAD TO TOTALLY ISOLATE MYSELF 😭 BECAUSE I WAS AN ADDICT, FROM THE AGE 9 TIL 8 YEARS AGO. I WAS BEATEN SO BAD I HAD TO HAVE IMMEDIATE BRAIN SURGERY TO SAVE MY LIFE. EVEN THEN IT TOOK ANOTHER YEAR OF THE LORD'S GRACE AND ISOLATION TO SEE THINGS THAT I WASN'T CAPABLE OF SEEING, FEELING, OR ADMITTING TO MYSELF THAT I WAS EMOTIALLY, SPIRITUALLY, AND PHYSICALLY DEAD INSIDE. I'M STILL ALONE AND ALMOST HATED. FOR WANTING AND NEEDING TO CHANGE MY LIFE. I'M NOT GOING TO LIE, THIS WAS THE THE HARDEST, EMOTIALLY, SPIRITUALLY, PHYSICALLY, AND PAINFULLEST THING I'VE EVER BEEN THROUGH IN MY 53 YEARS OF LIFE. BUT 2 YEARS AND I'M SPIRITUALLY, EMOTIALLY, MENTALLY, WORKING ON PHYSICALLY THE MOST BOTH DEVASTATINGLY, BUT REWARDING 🙏 DECISIONS I EVER MADE. BUT IT CAN BE DONE IF YOUR WILLING AND WANTING IT DESPERATELY TO SACRIFICE THINGS YOU THOUGHT YOU WANTED, NEEDED, OR DEPENDED ON. ( THAT LOOKING BACK WERE ONLY ASSOCIATES, GREED, LUST, AND SEEKING SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED. GRACE, LOVE, TIME, CLEARITY, AND UNFORTUNATELY I WAS DEFINITELY THAT 1 LAMB THAT HE LEFT THE 99 FOR. I NEVER KNEW WHAT THAT REALLY MEANT. I'D HEARD OF THE LORD. ATHEIST FATHER, IT WASN'T INSTILLED IN ME. BUT THAT LITTLE MUSTARD SEED. THAT EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T KNOW MUCH 🙏. Pierce: "You're Not Good Enough"
Lindsey: "Hold my hair"
Yes! She is always so classy in spite of how gross and low class the entertainment industry is in so many ways. I love all her music and I can say that about almost no artist. Just amazing. For me, I always dreamed of blending classical music and hip hop music and lyrics and creating something classy and beautiful like Lindsey does with dance and the electronic violin but I never figured out how to do it. I have so much respect for those who can be classy and entertaining because the record labels won't let you so you have to create what isn't there like playing God but in a good way. She has earned all of her success and deserves whatever happiness comes her way. Merry Christmas everyone! :)
I saw the behind the scenes of your training for this, I cried with you and seeing the final results makes me cry again knowing you never gave up to give your fans this beautiful moment. The dedication and perseverance shows.
I did to you were not the only one
@@_Sparkling-Nature_ she never said she was the only one (?)
That is because Miss Lindsey is a warrior! A true performer to the Nth degree!! What an amazing production 👏🙌😍!!!!
Thanks for sharing 👍!
Your mom gave perseverance too
That was breathtaking. Please don't do it again, we love you too much
How could people dislike this? She went through all of this training and pain to please and excite us with something new. Now- as much as we loved it, Linds, don't ever put yourself through so much pain for us!
It's rare to see an artist's determination so boldly presented. Often we only see the final product, practiced and refined until they could do it without much thought or expression. But this was different; you can see the struggle, the pain, the fear. And you can see the need to *do*.
For sure! Thought that was really cool about this
That is a great comment.
Would have been better with fewer camera cuts.
@@heavymetalmusichead4969 Yeah too much slomo and cuts, messes with the violin sync up
That's insane. What's even more insane is how much she must've trained to do this.
**edit** I found her vlog about her training after I posted this comment, lol.
@Ila saw that after I posted. Why was she so intent on it? Lol
@@SPITZtheGOD she was doing this to cope with the death of her father and best friend.
@@gsimon123 that's something she said she's wanted to do, one of the things she would not be able to do for a live performance. It's been in articles leading up to this. It has NOTHING to do with her dad and best friend dying and she's never said that.
The only other thing she's said is she's not planning on doing this again and it's solely for this show
That's incredible the amount of focus that must have required and to not get dizzy distract playing the violin.

I’ve been showing this to everyone I know. This is truly amazing! Lindsey is one of the most inspirational people to ever live. There is nothing she could not do!
I came across Lindsay's hair hanging vlog first and felt her pain watching her going through that training, then saw this as a suggested video - this is insane! I was crying watching this performance. Lindsay is phenomenal!
I love that she chose to share the struggle of the process, not just fight through it to bring the audience something magical and move on. There's an art to stepping up and making something look effortless, but in this case, I'm glad she shared the journey instead
I agree 100%
Said so elegantly. Cheers Stirling, Merry Christmas, And an absolute Happy New Year From my wife Kitty, our son A'koni, and myself, Blessings and good tidings of protection, love and peace.(my wife who loves you to death. Her and our son who was the youngest of the children attending. he was five at the time and it was my wifes birthday. At the time life was really hard and we along with all of the parents and children attending we're in St. Vincent de Puals Shelter for families and Veterans. We had been lucky to have been invited by this little girl and her dad that were facilitating the sneek peek at your rehearsal via a "party bus"She met you at your rehearsal at the fair in San Diego. I couldn't go because the party bus was full and they couldn't get my wheelchair because it wasnt wheelchair accessible. my wife was actually the only one that knew who you were other than the young girl and her father who had sponsored the party and meet with you. None of the other parents or children even knew what instrument you played let alone music. My wife said you even took a moment to take a photo while you were standing on stage and she was in the forground. Sadly, the children attending we're so mis behaved that the young girl and dad were furious and forgot about all the photos and my wife never got it. She cried for days. )
Mission accomplished, now please don't ever do that again. We don't like seeing you in so much pain.
i agree
She said that in Q/A: never again
I agree, but pain is also a part of the process. I know we love Lindsey, and because we love her we don't want her to be in pain... If only we could have the power to avoid pain from attacking our loved ones.
Mm-hm 🥺
Really good video though 😊

I'm so glad I discovered Lindsey Stirling on UA-cam. I love her videos - she's so talented. Her beauty, music, costumes, athleticism, dancing, and imagination are so pleasant and soothing to watch! I'm a follower now for sure!
Wow, wow wow........ just blown away watching you. I just can’t find the words that could describe me watching that performance. I feel so much emotion when I watch you. Thank you Lindsey for sharing your Devine talent with us. 💕💕💕 xx
My 3yo watched this and called you a "shiny magical princess". Magical because she is convinced you're flying in this.
Dont worry, Im 24 and Im still totally convinced she is a magical princess.
@@TheDarkMaster90 I'm also 24, turning 25 in a few weeks. And I also think Lindsey is a Princess. Look at how phenomenal all her performances are

She is flying .
Soon as it hits 2:40 seconds i say "fly lindsey fly" , in my head ,,,,,,,,,, everytime.
She looks like a beautiful dancing ornament for a Christmas tree.
That was my first thought too when they attached the rope to the hoop in her hair, and then she started flying around and all I could think was _owwwwwww_
I can't watch this masterpiece without crying... If you even don't cry in the video, the violin does... The pain, what you feel is hearable across the violin. You are amazing. 💖
This left me speechless. Absolute masterpiece performance all around how does this not have 10x more views.
I feel so bad for her because you can tell how much it hurts her but she makes it look so elegant and beautiful
That's exactly what I was thinking!
But why?
@@claudiaelena4600 But why, what?
Why ❓
I'm like why why why why!! This is insane I mean it looks hood but I'm like cringing cause I saw how painful it was for her. It's sad someone as talented as her needs to even up the anity like this for our entertainment. Or maybe she just wanted a challenge.
She could've quit when Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne told her how she was not good enough and sounded like rats being strangled but said no. She could've given up when she tried to get her music and talent seen and people would walk by and ignore her, she could've given up when labels rejected her because they found her too different, she could've given up her values to "make it" but she refused to back down. She could've also given up when she struggled with anorexia and depression and believed she was not good enough but she refused to let those voices rule her life! She could've given up when she injured her rib on Dancing With the Stars and was touring at the same time but she worked through it. She could've given up here when it hurt her head and it made her scared but she fought through this and gave an amazing and unique performance for Crystallize!
I've been surprised and proud of her every time.
Yes, she doesn't HAVE to do something but she will if she WANTS to. (And thankfully she had the support of professionals and people to help her with caring for her hair too)

How it started:
Piers Morgan saying Lindsey's not good enough on Americas Got Talent
How it's going:

Piers who?
Not only that, but he said she's not good enough to be flying through the air while playing violin
I was thinking the same thing. Piers wasnt wrong back then, as her playing really suffered when doing the lifts, but I feel like Lindsey has finally achieved the vision she had when she appeared on that show.
When was she on AGT? I had no idea she went on :o
Who is piers?
While the performance is absolutely incredible, I truly hope you're not going to repeat it, Lindsey. Sending hugs and love, please take care and thank you for all you do ♥ Hope you are well
This was NOT enjoyable to watch, knowing how much she suffered training for it. Unfortunate for Lindsey .. maybe next time don't be so honest about what happened behind the scenes??
Lindsey is outstanding in everything she does. I would give anything to see her live in concert one day. Keep going, Lindsey!💪🏻 Congratulations for everything you managed to do throughout the years, despite all those who did not belive in you. Just comes to prove that hard work, determination and passion can win over any challenge. Eat your heart out AGT!!!!! Lindsey was better than all of you!!!!
I have been a major fan of hers since the first time I heard her and she literally brings tears to my eyes from the sounds she makes along with her dancing. I stumbled upon this by accident following a hair hanger I saw on Ellen show today and saw the Lindsay Sterling link below, needless to say my mind was blown seeing that she had learned to do this too. Most fitting routine/dance to go with her violin skills ever. Hope to see more, they say the pain dulls down the more it's practiced. Shear video/sound perfection.
I feel very humbled now for how conformist and weak I am throughout my life while others, like you, go so far to bring out the most of themselves... of the gifts God gave them... Lindsey, thank you for inspiring me - making me feel small and realizing how much more there is in me that I let rust away day after day, when, in fact, I could choose to do otherwise. Thank you for the light you shine on us, so we won't forget what we all might be... are... capable of.

That was ABSOLUTELY INSANE. This is very impressive! Also: Lindsey looks like a Christmas ornament here, and I love it, haha.

i would love a lindsey stirling christmas ornament
Oh my gosh! I got emotional watching this! When you took that breath i could hear you giving yourself a pep talk and then you totally knocked that last part of of the park! I'm so grateful you included the breathing.... It spoke so loudly on your tenacity and strength to do this!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, the amount of dedication and emotion from this brought me to tears, I'm a total mess
The most beautiful performance ive ever seen in my whole life
Man, that's epic!
Knowing how painful it must’ve have been to film this, the agonizing hours of training that led up to this moment and how beautifully executed that was brought tears to my eyes. What a work of art, and you gave it everything you had. Bravo. Your talent, your passion, and the will to keep going despite wanting to quit . You inspire me❤️
I used to listen to you very often when I was young. I just wanted to watch what you did since the last time that's why I'm here. I think this video is the apotheosis of your past and actual work. It makes me think about what the judge said when I first saw you on AGT : unless you're violin master you wouldn't be able handling flying through the air stuff while playing violin at the same time. Such a poetic prove that you are a violin master and beyond that, that you grew up !
Edit : sorry for my English I'm a French native speaker 🤷♂️
Absolutely stunning. I cried knowing how hard you trained, how many tears you shed but your perseverance and determination made a beautiful video in the end. I hope I'm able to get tickets to your upcoming Summerfest show. My 11 yr old son looks up to you and your the reason he took to learning the violin. He's amazing! I get chills knowing he's so good already and he's only begun playing summer of 2021. We love you!
Amazing show and amazing 'remake' of Crystallize. But it shows how stressful it was for you to put so much trust into you hair, body and yourself that you can do it. So if this is too much for you don't do it again. We will love you either way, cause you are an amazing artist. And we don't want to see you in pain. Thank you Lindsey! Marry Christmas! And Happy New Year!
No pain, no gain, bro. Once you get to this point, there's no turning back. She accomplished something that tested her limits, which becomes at some point, a meditative practice. Most can't understand that, because they don't test themselves in such extreme ways. It's not about hurting herself anymore, it's about testing and pushing herself to showing how capable humans are. It doesn't matter what she does. She endured to show others can endure. She sacrificed and may continue to do so against anyone's wishes. So, it's not your place to tell her not to do it again, or anymore, because you saw her in pain. It's her choice and what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger and she's showing that in spades.
@@RedrumVideoProductns he did say if it was her choice. I believe he’s only trying to say we appreciate her work, but wouldn’t want her to do something outside her comfort if it wasn’t what she wanted.
Huge leap of course, but we never saw Robin Williams planning to do what he did, we wouldn’t want any entertainer to put themselves in a bad place for the sake of our enjoyment.
@@Infamous_B_C But it is in her comfort zone... Otherwise she wouldn't have done this. It's not some publicity stunt. She's just being amazing and no one should have to even say they don't want her to do it. Too late... She already did. It's more negative to say this type of thing to someone than you think. She's didn't do it to self harm. It's not imolation or autoerotic asphyxiation, jeez... Making that comparison to suicide is moving the mark quite a bit... That's not fair at all.
@@RedrumVideoProductns your initial statement is an opinion(are you 100% sure of it), and the comment never said they didn’t want her to do it. It’s merely a comment of assurance to our respect for her.
I’m not comparing her performance to a scream for help or a leading to suicide; I’m comparing talented people who care to put on a good show for their audience.
What can Lindsey not do? I love how she doesn’t limit herself, and to think that she was told she was not good on America Got Talent. She never needed to go there, she can have her own show! Bravo Lindsey!!! You’ve done amazing!
I find it so cool how much control she has while spinning in the air, just a small leg movement and it changes the speed
I play violin and I’ve been listening to this song on repeat for months through Alexa music.I have trouble sleeping and this song in particular really comforts me during both those nights as well as my high anxiety moments. I like too listen to each note and try to identify what string it’s on and the placement. It helps ground me. It was 3 am and I’m sick so can’t sleep. I was listening to this song and my sister ended up getting up to go to the bathroom. She heard the song and in the dead of night she said “that’s a really pretty song”.
I then thought, I’ll send it to her. I looked it up on UA-cam and saw this video. I watched it and thought
Oh my… this is so much more than I was expecting. I then googled you and saw you danced as well as play music among other things. I remember reading that you have to know to play the song very well before you can have fun with it and dance. I thought My goodness! That’s fun? Looks very painful. So I started watching your other videos and didn’t see the hair hanging you did here. I then saw your vlog on this. It was poweful. Definitely not fun. I watched this video again with even stronger understanding. I do not know how you stayed strong, didn’t break down, or give up. Whoever I saw you nearing the ground I was looking for you to eagerly move your legs to relieve the weight yet you restrained yourself. That had to be very challenging not to rush the last few seconds of pain.
I learned my favorite self soothing song is so much more then I ever realized, you are so much more than I ever realized.
Violin teacher: Relax. There should be no tention in your body.
Lindsey: Sorry mate what didcha say
Good thing we cant hear her real play while she is doing the acrobatic act then ;D
@@akuno7294 Check Out her insta/Tiktok there she posted a video of her playing violin during hair hanging the first time!!! And it sounds good
I almost cried seeing her determination at doing such a thing. Hats off to you Lindsey
Hats off to you..
(Sorry for the bad pun)
@@Eyes0penNoFear dont worry, i saw hats offs and thought the same bad pun
Not just me then!
I didn't *almost*
I did
I cried

I haven’t followed you in a while, found this on my timeline and I’m so glad I did. still as amazing as ever.
this must have taken so long and it must have so painful but it was so worth it. This is, hands down, the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen
Right?! I'm honestly speechless. 😲
@@swimfectionist97 She suffered from anorexia - as someone who went through that too I am amazed that she managed to get her hair that strong. It usually just fell off with every brush stroke
How to get Lindsey Stirling to do the impossible. Tell her it can't be done.
That was already Jackie Chans way of thinking, but this is how amazing things happen.
Girl, you. are. amazing. Deep breaths and continue to push forward against the blood, the sweat, the pain, the tears, and I swear you will ALWAYS rise.
This young woman BLOWS ME AWAY...Pure Artistic Talent...Such Flare...such Pizazzz....10,000,000% mindblown Lindsey....YOU ROCK
