I wanted to mention a few additional points:
1. Different laptop and PC motherboard brands have different keys to start the boot manager. In most cases, it's F11 or F12, but it can also be F8, F9, or the Esc key.
2. You can back up your data on the same bootable USB drive, or you can use a separate one. However, you must insert the second drive before you start the process and while your laptop is off.
3. This method also works for data recovery if you forgot the password for your laptop.
4. Everything marked in red in the examples of commands means that it was applicable only in my particular case. Your folder names and drive letters may differ.
5. This method, and others as well, will not work if the drive was encrypted with BitLocker or any other tool.
