    Thanks for taking the time to do such an extensive test. I was very impressed with the G9II, particularly at the longer focal lengths 👏🏻 OM-1, S5II and R7 were all very good too, but all beaten by the G9II IMHO. The Fuji was left behind by the others in this IBIS competition.

    I hope the EIS algorithm of the G9II could be added to the S5II via firmware

    • @amermeleitor
      @amermeleitor 11 місяців тому +1

      @shariqahmed336 EIS, no IBIS. The EIS in G9II can correct the corner problems of IBIS when using wide angle lenses.

    • @amermeleitor
      @amermeleitor 11 місяців тому +1

      @shariqahmed336 no! Compute power required have nothing to do with the sensor size, only with pixel count, export resolution, way of get the resolution (line skipping, all I or IPB, binning, noise treatment, etc) and códec. A M4/3 sensor with 26mp requires more computation power than a FF sensor with 24mp if all other things are the same

    • @amermeleitor
      @amermeleitor 11 місяців тому

      @shariqahmed336 it's true, please don't be moronic. For the price no way oc. Obviously a full frame it's pricier because the sensor is a lot pricier. We are talking about compute power, not about price. There are several cameras with a lot more power than the G9II and a lot better video specs in the full frame realm. Just don't expect to be cheap...

    • @amermeleitor
      @amermeleitor 11 місяців тому

      @shariqahmed336 nooooo! Oh man. The GH5II have less pixels, so it need less compute power. The faster readout is linked to that too, and with the physical size. But the most important thing is that smaller the sensor then less heat is produced. But you have cameras like the Nikon Z8, with a FF sensor, with less rolling shutter and faster readout than any M4/3, with far better video specs. But obviously is pricier. One thing is clear: compute power have nothing to do with physical size, only with pixel count and data treatment, there are things more demanding and other that are easier (like line skipping IPB video vs down sampled all intra video; or 8bit 4-2-0 vs 10bit 4-2-2)

    • @amermeleitor
      @amermeleitor 11 місяців тому

      @shariqahmed336 no! I'm not confused. Please, man. GH5, 20mp; S5 24mp.

    G9ii seems to be on par or only slightly better than the S5ii, GH6 and OM1 at the wider focal lengths, but the EIS gets rid of the wobble, which makes it much more usable. However at the longer focal lengths, there is quite a difference.

      How much is quite hard to define, but as you can see from this video, there is quite a bit of improvements with the mark II. Whether you can use without gimbal is completely up to your expectation and how steady you can hold the camera. It is almost gimbal like with a wide angle lens, but it is still not a gimbal as there is only so much the IBIS can adjust to compensate movement/shaking.
