Honestly, watching this little series just reminds me how much better written SC1 was than SC2... Back then, the story had feeling and the voice acting was a hundred fold better than the trivial efforts put into SC2...
FlagDUDE08 The Psi emitter channels similar energies to the Dark Templar/Void energy that Zeratul and the other protoss use to kill Zerg. That's one of the reasons the OG Overmind chose Kerrigan. He saw that she had the Ghost training/potential to use Void energy. So he "tapped" her, and transformed her. That's one of the interesting ways SC made Humans able to keep up with the much older races- Psi Emitters and Ghosts/Telepaths. Fun writing there. and holy shit. you wrote that 3 years ago. how times flies..
+Alyssa W Overmind knew it in the first place that zerg wouldn't possess free will even with its control because the Overmind is bound to reproduction and consumption of everything or even one day be claimed by Amon or any other Xel Nagas. Kerrigan, the queen of blade, on the contrary, can make decisions of this own free will and also can lead the Zerg with his Telekinetic energy. This is the most important reason why the Overmind chose Kerrigan.
Not gonna lie, when I first heard the guy say "directorate psychics and powerful drugs" as a kid, I imagined a bunch of Ghosts smoking weed with the Overmind while Bob Marley playing in the background.
@fx4087 But that's the thing, in the earlier Protoss campaign the new Overmind was able to and Dark Templar were needed. The fan theory is that the Psi Disruptor nullifies reincarnation, but I think it was just a slipup by Blizzard.
Psi Disruptor simply nullify Psi Link between Queen (overriding will) and an ordinary Zerg. Killing Cerebrate makes him useless when they have Psi Disruptor cuz if he gets reincarnated he will be just a feral zerg with no purpose, no overriding will and therefore dangerous even to other zergs. Psi Disruptor only disrupts the psi link that is used to control em.
Obviously this sort of story isn't new to either StarCraft or Starship Troopers. Suffice to say that StarCraft most likely inspired the movie the most since they are years apart and because they made it so much alike.
@ zealousdemon Got a question for you: At the end, when it shows the UEN broadcast it says that Alexi Stukov was born on 6/09/822 GD. Do you know what the 822 and the GD stands for? Also, is a Samir Duran a Zerg/Protoss hybrid? Please write me back as soon as you can. Thank you for the great videos!
Did anyone else realize that Stukov lived for 500 years? Unless that born year is 822 instead of 322... Then he would only be 2 months old. WTF? Easter egg much?
Starship troopers was originally a book back from the 60's.. so you could say starship troopers was first XD then again Starcraft is extremely different from starship troopers.. i dont see what similarities youre drawing here.
How hard is it to read? I said IT WASN'T NEW TO STARCRAFT, and IT WAS NOT EVEN ORIGINAL WITH STARSHIP TROOPERS EITHER. Similar stories have existed since BEFORE THE 60s, so before any of that, including Warhammer.
I kinda disliked the mockery did to Earth, as i would assume a much different technology tree, units and politics/characters. But this? nothing more than existing terran factions? completely useless.

when i first played the mission i was scared when i saw the torrasque coming at me !!!!
Fun Trivia: One of the medics administering neuro stims to the Overmind was Lt. Morales from Heroes of the Storm.
Was Starship Troopers even around when this game was around? Ha! Yea. I could so see that guy saying "Would you like to know more?" nice vid.
looks a lot like starship troopers
major starship troopers vibe
I fucking love the adjutant voice

The Overmind wasn't drugged until after the cerebrates were destroyed. Perhaps the Psi Disrupter was able to prevent immediate reincarnation?
You're also forgetting that this overmind was in its infant stages, so its powers were not fully developed yet.
GLORY TO THE UED!!
Game logic: The protagonist MUST win

OK... how is the UED able to destroy cerebrates when they do not channel powers from the void, like the Dark Templar?
Raynor saving Mengsk and helping Kerrigan sooo stupid..
Huh, wonder what BBQ Hydralisk ribs taste like.
@wschmrdr Maybe couse old overmind is death and the new one still don´t have power able to do it?
didn't they need Dark Templar's to kill those three cerebrates? The UED just killed them with thier own weapons.
@TheNemesis274 if you mean the movie? no game came first
Did anyone else realize that Stukov lived for 500 years? Unless that born year is 822 instead of 322... Then he would only be 2 months old. WTF? Easter egg much?
And at the end the production company wasn't created until 50 years later. Again. WTF?
According to Starcraft wiki, he was 52 when he died.
Why would you have so many ultralisk dens O.o
hum... psi disrupter?
Would you like to know more?
man i almost forgot how star ship troopers this ending was. not that i dont love it.
If I had to pick between UED propaganda and Dominion propaganda, I'd go with Dominion. The UEN report is just so cheesy.

wow, that newsreel was a complete rip-off of Starship Troopers.
...almost word for word.
+Ó Braonáin it still feels extremely rewarding and safe to hear
