Boys! Have we forgotten the TRUE Number 1 most annoying tame of all time? The carno, of course! Specifically, tamed ones! CLOMP! CLOMP! CLOMP! Its footsteps are obscenely loud!
Hmm, Thylacoleo being an honorable mention is understandable. Those big cat-like Marsupials are almost like Microraptors except they are often hanging on the trees. Usually being hard to see until you happen to step or fly near them, dismounting and stunning you before they attempt to maul you to death. And if you happen to be flying and get pounced you can end up dying or taking massive damage from the fall itself before the mauling can even begin. (Also the fact these guys are also sometimes annoying to tame, their Torpor goes down pretty fast and unless you got a lot of Mutton or Prime Meat ready it's gonna take ages to fill the bar, especially if they are high level.)
I tend to deal with micro raptors easily now, my mount usually kills them when I'm all starry-eyed. if there is more than one, my health is usually full. Although do remember that time a number of Brontos were aggroed on me and my Argy, then a micro raptor appeared, and I died. For me 1) Terror Birds (really dislike their noises) 2) Purlovia 3) ichthyornis
The other day one of those water scorpion things attacked me while i was on top of my griffin and put me to sleep. It took it 10 minutes to finally break my helmet and kill me. The griffin had only lost a 1000 out of 6000, but damn did it take a while
wasn't it so that microraptors won't attack if you got one yourself on your shoulder? otherwise sinomacrops is always a solution for these nasty small creatures like pego or microraptor
Getting knocked out by sea scorpions is the pinnacle of getting arked. They basically fully torp you out in one hit and they do like 5 points of health damage so it takes forever to die.
Wow, i really expected Nameless to be on the list, high at that too. They are super tanky if you dont have light on you aswell. Bloodstalkers are infuriating aswell, since the area they reside in on Genesis 1 is pretty terrainy and getting dragged 200m into the air isnt fun. No idea if that got fixed, i remember swinging on my own bloodstalker and getting dragged off from over 100m in full speed. Ravager, Onycs and Arthro i thought maybe make the list aswell. Baryonyx perma stun i thought may make the list.
The itchy used to take a random item from your inventory and eat it, cry podded Dino’s, ascendant rifle… didn’t matter. With annoying hotboxes they were each like a mini boss. A highstakes encounter that challenged your resolve and aim.
When they're bug buffed, they are very aggressive and can kill almost anything. I lost everything on wipe day cause of an unlucky encounter with one XD
Weirdly enough, pegos are one of my fav creatures. I keep a stack of mejos in my last slot all the time for that very reason, I've never had issues with them. Just when you least expect it something will smack you in the back and you'll just see "You've Tamed a Pegomastax!" Pop up.
Surprised the Kapro wasn't anywhere on the list. Once took a raft through the swamp with my tribe just for it to turn into a horror movie as I watch them get tackled one by one😂
Ichthyornis does have counters...if you don't want to waste any bola or ammunation, either run straight for a while to make them fly straight toward you and turn around and throw bola at them, or get a Rex, Rex's roar will force small airborne creature to land and stuns for few seconds
Largely agree with the list However the perma stunlock of the jellyfish for me puts it at number one, especially with level 300 cave versions tanking 400+ percent crossbows for days and if your dealing with any regular creatures in a cave and it sneaks up on you then you have probably lost that mount. I would like to add the squid to the honourable mention list because of the latching attack which will kill any light mount such as a newt before release.
Doubt this will get much attention but Raas you should make a video commenting your thoughts on the recent events on conquest with tribes being unfairly banned by snail games. I understand most of your content is PVE oriented but on behalf of the pvp community we would love your help. Your reach and leveled head mind could really help us pvpers deal with publisher corruption and cheating on a game that we’re so dedicated to. And maybe your 2 cents on the topic could change ark for the better. Much love ❤
Remember, raptors in ark mobile ALSO have the pounce while they’re wild. But I mean ofc we’d need smth to make up for pego, ichthyornis and troodons not being found in the wild.
So I’ve learned micro raptors aren’t that awful if you go anywhere above them while they glide, they can fly up so they end up just running away, but do sometimes come back.
I'm surprised Purlovias aren't higher, especially with the ridiculous knockback. Most of these creatures seem like the developers sat down for a meeting and asked "how can we make the game less fun?"
I remember encountering Troodons for the first time. It was the Center and I was looking for chitin with my 2 Raptors on follow. I was attacked and knocked out instantly and all I could hear was the Raptors fighting the Troodons. I woke with both Raptors standing over me all bloody but victorious. What I love about Ark. You'll never know what to expect.
In my cases, i just chilling😌 with my megatherium Edit: i managed to tame ichthy so i can easy tame an otter and a pair of hesperornis, it's not that bad as a tame support .. 1-2 tranqs should do the trick
funny story about one of my first pego encounters i was running around on a ferox feeding it element to make it grow and a pego immediately runs up to me and steals my element and i never saw that pego again and what sucks it that it was the only element i had at the time which was 10 because i had just started breeding tek parasaurs for several hours to make the element and i go out to feed the ferox and i loose about 10 hours of progress.
Only counter is having a Sinomacrops from Lost Island on auto scream. For the microraptor, ithchyornis and pego specifically. Which is a blessing. Microraptors and Ithchys are removed from my cluster. So are kapros. I use simple spawner summoner for any players who want one tamed.
I'm surprised to see microraptor at the top of this list. According to steam, Ark is the game I have put the most time in and I have seldom had issues with the M-Raptor. My tops picks would have been the thieving dinos, ants, and Troodon. Troodons were my personal top most loathsome because even though they are thwarted by torches, they really make it impossible to do anything at night because I need the torch hand to use tools or weapons. This means often I just find a safe spot to park my character for the night and wait for morning.
if you spam jump, the aberrant raptors will actually not be able to pounce you. i think there's a little prompt in the game on the debuff/buff thing that tells you, but it disappears too fast. so instead, you can just spam the jump button to ensure that it doesn't pounce you
Purlovias are most annoying in aberration for me personally, getting your first drake egg on a megalo is utter trauma, dismounted every 5seconds until a reaper pops up and you just have to accept your death.. The most annoying creature will always be the summoner. suprised that wasn't on any list lol. i hate them so much ;u;
I just started playing the game like two days ago, and I'm on the island map. The creature that's been the bane of my existence so far is the stupid Dilophosaurus. Those acid spitters should have been at least an honorable mention because dear God, they're annoying af; especially if multiple are around.
I applaud our collective restraint for not voting for Snail Games in this community poll. 3:30 Dragon casually flying in the background ?! For a future poll, I'd love to see a Top10 creatures we hope follow us to ARK2. There's a few confirmed ones and a few that are suspected to follow because of elements of last year's trailer, but there are hundreds of creatures whose status is unknown at the moment... and not all will be in the sequel. I know the release is far in the future, but dev work is taking place now, maybe WildCard would take such poll discretely into account.
@@adeptgirl3454 I don't know, that part of the video is clearly shot on Fjordur, while the DOX series is on Ragnarok. But either way the weird thing about it to me was how the Dragon was not aggressive.
Had a pego steal a 216 lightning wyvern egg from me yesterday (I play on difficulty 6), after it stole the egg from my inventory it just disappeared, didnt get a chance to kill it or anything
As long as I don’t need resources from areas where gigas and carchas spawn, I have an imprinted stego to walk around the island. Prevent dismount by micros and kapros, strong enough to go head to head with rexes and allos
One creature that can be annoying when taming something else is a Doedi and they commonly found where Rex, Yuty, Giga etc spawn. You knock out that beautiful Rex, you're busy in it's inventory looking at it's stats. Bam Bam the Doedi, who the Rex was fighting with 10 minutes before you tranq it, wakes up from the bush it was curled up in, sneaks up the other side, and ruins your tame. Not sure why the Megatherium is in there? What does it do? Out of all these creatures I still give Purlovia a gg when they catch me, I love/hate them and would be sad if they where taken out the game. Wish they had some use in PVE though.
Ichthyones counter: Tame a pack of pteranodons (seven should work) set them to aggressive, and leave them near your beach house. They'll slaughter even brachiosaurs.
Isn’t riding an andrewsarchus or a stego an option for dismount resistance? Pretty sure they work against desmodus, dunno if it’s the same for microraptors
I despise piranhas, dropped my mutated level 300 rex into a water area in a cave by accident, luckily i quickly reacted and cryopodded it back but my character had a different idea and took it out again! Boom cryosickness and 280-400 level piranhas nibbling on my asleep rexes toes, 2,000 something damage per piranha for whatever reason and 50k health was drained in seconds.
There is actually a counter to the dismount it’s the stag. Oh, I don’t remember which platform it is, but I think it’s defensive platform or one of them makes it to where you cannot be dismounted while riding it.
I feel like the sharks should be at least an honorable mention they are very overspawned and prevent you taming sea creatures as well as being almost impossible to kill when in a pack in caves
Man....nearly half of this list are some of my absolute favorite tames. Troodon and microraptors at the very top, I've even bred ichthyornis mutation stacks from zero on official before losing them all to no-life griefers... those little birds are my favorite shoulder tame, alongside micros, and whenever my tribe got raided, I would take a group of 2-3 troodon to every ob in cryos, pop them all out on neutral, following an aggressive raptor on wander...70% of the time, it worked every time... 😂
Forgot to mention kaprosuchus those can be the worst by taking you off your tame and far away in the swamp being dismounted and vulnerable to everything around
pretty odd the leeds isn't even mentioned anymore. it had a huge impact on ark, diminishing raft builds and was so annoying ppl changed gameplay and fully ignored the ocean. rag became unplayable for "nest"-based play as they even appeared near the swamps, making water passage by raft into the canyon near the metal cave near impossible. guess the leeds lost it's place due to tweaks in spawnweight
i remember trying to get some wyvern milk, and i got pinched by pego and i assumed, prolly stole some stones or berries, once i was into the trench i found out, he has taken my net, so i am left with only one and cant reload another, needless to say i died and lost my ascendant armor

(Also the fact these guys are also sometimes annoying to tame, their Torpor goes down pretty fast and unless you got a lot of Mutton or Prime Meat ready it's gonna take ages to fill the bar, especially if they are high level.)
wait why the megatherium? I've never had any problems with them
I tend to deal with micro raptors easily now, my mount usually kills them when I'm all starry-eyed. if there is more than one, my health is usually full.
Yeees why isn't anyone else saying this they do attack you they just can't dismount you
Getting knocked out by sea scorpions is the pinnacle of getting arked. They basically fully torp you out in one hit and they do like 5 points of health damage so it takes forever to die.
Tip for the Micros: if you can time it right, a good kick from a horse should scare them off. Used this a few times on rag and val
I slaughter Bary's whenever I see them. I'm almost always on a high level tame when traveling though.
Can’t remember if you did it already but maybe the 10 most useless creatures? Love the videos they are always a great watch!
lymantria ez number 1 spot
The itchy used to take a random item from your inventory and eat it, cry podded Dino’s, ascendant rifle… didn’t matter. With annoying hotboxes they were each like a mini boss. A highstakes encounter that challenged your resolve and aim.
Why was megatherium on honorable mentions? Whats annoying about them?... ive never once had an encounter with them that went south.
When they're bug buffed, they are very aggressive and can kill almost anything. I lost everything on wipe day cause of an unlucky encounter with one XD
Yeah, they're my favorite combat mounts. Not even once did I find them annoying, especially compared to chalico.
@TikTokhater hmm never thought about that. Theyve always been passive when ive encountered them.
Largely agree with the list
However the perma stunlock of the jellyfish for me puts it at number one, especially with level 300 cave versions tanking 400+ percent crossbows for days and if your dealing with any regular creatures in a cave and it sneaks up on you then you have probably lost that mount.
I would like to add the squid to the honourable mention list because of the latching attack which will kill any light mount such as a newt before release.
Something I learned to deal with microraptors is if you’re on a Petra, put it on neutral. If you get stunned it will kill them all quickly
Why do people hate troodons so much??
I always just used to use Argys to take them out
I love the BadLipReading reference about the Yoda reference
Doubt this will get much attention but Raas you should make a video commenting your thoughts on the recent events on conquest with tribes being unfairly banned by snail games. I understand most of your content is PVE oriented but on behalf of the pvp community we would love your help. Your reach and leveled head mind could really help us pvpers deal with publisher corruption and cheating on a game that we’re so dedicated to. And maybe your 2 cents on the topic could change ark for the better. Much love ❤
I did drop a tweet on it mate. But yeah will cover in the next news vid
@@Raasclark much thanks 🙏
Remember, raptors in ark mobile ALSO have the pounce while they’re wild. But I mean ofc we’d need smth to make up for pego, ichthyornis and troodons not being found in the wild.
So I’ve learned micro raptors aren’t that awful if you go anywhere above them while
they glide, they can fly up so they end up just running away, but do sometimes come back.
In my cases, i just chilling😌 with my megatherium
Edit: i managed to tame ichthy so i can easy tame an otter and a pair of hesperornis, it's not that bad as a tame support .. 1-2 tranqs should do the trick
SEAGULLS ARE NOT FUN really broke me LOL! Great vid raas.
funny story about one of my first pego encounters i was running around on a ferox feeding it element to make it grow and a pego immediately runs up to me and steals my element and i never saw that pego again and what sucks it that it was the only element i had at the time which was 10 because i had just started breeding tek parasaurs for several hours to make the element and i go out to feed the ferox and i loose about 10 hours of progress.
That's the first thing I will do if I happened to play on your server
I'm surprised to see microraptor at the top of this list. According to steam, Ark is the game I have put the most time in and I have seldom had issues with the M-Raptor. My tops picks would have been the thieving dinos, ants, and Troodon. Troodons were my personal top most loathsome because even though they are thwarted by torches, they really make it impossible to do anything at night because I need the torch hand to use tools or weapons. This means often I just find a safe spot to park my character for the night and wait for morning.
Eurypterid is missing for me, on many maps the coastline allows it to spawn and is even more common than Trodon. Worth mentioning at least.
A simple thing to keep in mind is a lot of thing's on this list can be countered with a simple bola. Don't sleep on this useful tool!
if you spam jump, the aberrant raptors will actually not be able to pounce you. i think there's a little prompt in the game on the debuff/buff thing that tells you, but it disappears too fast. so instead, you can just spam the jump button to ensure that it doesn't pounce you
Purlovias are most annoying in aberration for me personally, getting your first drake egg on a megalo is utter trauma, dismounted every 5seconds until a reaper pops up and you just have to accept your death.. The most annoying creature will always be the summoner. suprised that wasn't on any list lol.
i hate them so much ;u;
Pretty sure that was footage from his Dino Overhaul X series, that mod has dragons as a common mob.
How about sabertooth salmon when whole pond aggro on frenzy? :)
The Andrewsarchus with a saddle is the best counter for a Microraptor. They can't knock you off, all they do is fly around you
Just...get a Stego....
As long as I don’t need resources from areas where gigas and carchas spawn, I have an imprinted stego to walk around the island. Prevent dismount by micros and kapros, strong enough to go head to head with rexes and allos
Hi Raas could you do a video series about all creatures in Ark what they are good for how to tame where to find them etc...?
Valid list i've personally never encountered a microraptor but i've seen how annoying they could be.
The ichthyones is such an annoyance to me that I started playing ark mobile instead to entirely avoid it, worth it
Isn’t riding an andrewsarchus or a stego an option for dismount resistance?
Little known fact about the raptor pounce is that you can 'cancel' it by jumping at the right time.
Top 10 bugs in ark or issues that players think wc should deal with
I think you're confused, it should be:
Find the only 10 things that aren't bugs in Ark
@@ShawnF6FHellcat lol would be hard to find 10
@@kermitreturnz Exactly
Leeds need to be on the list! Also, not a creature, but the little red mushrooms from Abberration should be in the honourable mentions
Yes! them little red fuckers
Kinda surprised the kapro didn't even make the honorable mentions list
Seriously? People find the Megatherium more annoying? 🤣
Kind of, especially when you're riding mantis to gather material
pretty odd the leeds isn't even mentioned anymore. it had a huge impact on ark, diminishing raft builds and was so annoying ppl changed gameplay and fully ignored the ocean. rag became unplayable for "nest"-based play as they even appeared near the swamps, making water passage by raft into the canyon near the metal cave near impossible. guess the leeds lost it's place due to tweaks in spawnweight
I don’t think microraptors can dismount you if you have one as a shoulder pet
what about the kaprosuchus
Microraptors made the sinomacrops the MVP of shoulder mounts gonna miss it for the first few months of ASA
The galli needs to be on that list for ALWAYS getting in your way and luring hostiles to you
i remember trying to get some wyvern milk, and i got pinched by pego and i assumed, prolly stole some stones or berries, once i was into the trench i found out, he has taken my net, so i am left with only one and cant reload another, needless to say i died and lost my ascendant armor
No way, thanks! Ive played this game 2800 hours and i totally didnt know troodons ran from light
