Borderlands 2 builds upon the gameplay elements introduced in its predecessor. It is a first-person shooter that includes character-building elements found in role-playing games, leading Gearbox to call the game a "role-playing shooter." At the start of the game, players select one of four new characters, each with a unique special skill and with proficiencies with certain weapons. From then on, players take on quests assigned through non-player characters or from bounty boards, each typically rewarding the player with experience points, money, and sometimes a reward item. Players earn experience by killing foes and completing in-game challenges (such as getting a certain number of kills using a specific type of weapon). As they gain levels from experience growth, players can then allocate skill points into a skill tree that features three distinct specializations of the base character
Borderlands 2 begins with the player fighting to the death to win a priceless cache of loot in a gladiatorial tournament run by Handsome Jack for his personal amusement. The player succeeds and gains notoriety, but Handsome Jack sees this as a threat to his popularity with the people. At the tournament's end he denies the reward and leaves the player for dead in a tundra. The mysterious Guardian Angel from the first game then contacts the player and explains that Handsome Jack must be killed, directing the player to rescue the four original vault hunters from Hyperion's clutches to accomplish this. Although Jack's full intentions are unknown, part of his plan involves finding an ancient evil named "The Warrior" that is located somewhere on Pandora

I quit playing Destiny back in August, but I got 17 exotic heavy weapons before one Gjallarhorn. It took 1000 hours flat for one. Fuck that game.

Just to clarify, what are you referencing here in the first Borderlands? I haven't played it for awhile but was contemplating getting back into it, but what about the RNG makes it so bad I honestly can't remember.
I wouldn't know what robo might be referring to, but I can say that it is very frustrating finding a good machine gun in the first game.

RNG should not apply on rare enemies. Special rare enemies the likes of Godliath, Ultimate Badass Varkids, Vermivurous, OOO, legendary loot midgets, and Tubby enemies should have a guaranteed loot drop due to how so rare they can spawn in a game session, justice should be given to all time and effort it will take just to make these enemies to appear...

Is it strange that all I do is look for which ever does the most damage and rarely think of anything else?
+stormweaver82 same, and I have a few hundred hours logged into this game. It's so much more fun than grinding over a single specific gun or shield or anything, and though some types do work better with certain builds, you're probably going to out-level it anyway after a while. I'd really only grind in UVHM with high overpowered levels because it's easier to get loot and it's hard to out-level something if it's the max level.
That all being said, I really don't like splatter guns.
Mackenzie D Indeed, I love the loot-slooting in the game. Specially when you kill a boss and it just baths you in flashy bling. But I also like Disgaea and as evil as this may sound I almost want it to go that far. Random maps with random enemies and random items for the soul purpose of stat pushing.

Bahroo needs this shotgun in order to achieve multiple anarchy stacks
errrr... no.... he needs the shotgun cause with infinite ammo its the highest dps gun in the game that's obtainable. soooo DARMAGE! Anarchy stacks are a bonus and well at some points a hindrance.

this happens to me too when i play alone i have awesome luck get really good stuff but when i play with friends we get a freakin invader sniper and a cradle shield :S

So he said that the reason he needed the Jakobs shotgun was because..... he needed it. Okay, that didn't fucking explain anything.
Back then, Gaige could use the merging weapons glitch (it is patched now) with a Vladoff rocket launcher for infinite ammo, and could use Deathtrap for unlimited recharging shields for any amp shield. The combo of infinite shotgun shots plus unlimited amp damage made Gaige steamroll EVERYTHING.

The thing I hate in BL2 well aside from how UVHM was poorly designed, it is less lenient and very stingy in giving out legendary and unique loots from its designated enemies. The chance percentage so small. BL1 can be strict in giving legendaries but it is fair

When i decided to farm the beeshield from ents in tiny tinas, i got it from the first one i killed, then i wanted unkempt harold and got it from savage lee on third kill. lul

just gonna say that when i was farming for a couple level 50 infinities yesterday for my gunzerker i got 2 in the first 5 kills and then another like 10 kills later

Im here to rant about this rng just to get it out of my system. 10 hours in and this game is not planning to give me ANY kind of Shock Sandhawk. Yea, I know the rng is huge and all but the thing is... I've already come across 5 corrosive, 4 fire, 2 slags and 6 non elemental Sandhawks all with almost the exact same accessories and prefixes...
I love BL2, pretty much the best fps I've ever played.
But right now, I guess it's safe to assume that this game is fucking with me
sandhawk is a quest reward, not a random drop...
The RNG doesn't just affect drop rate, it also affects what guns will appear in vending machines (like what you see in the video) and the Variant of Quest Rewards (elements, prefixes, etc.)

I did get a triple barreled jakobs shotgun once as a reward in some side quest but i sold it almost as quickly as i got it. Why? Because with 3 rounds i can kill 3 guys. Not just 1...

In a game where there are so many guns you can't find two alike, it makes sense that RNG is awful. BUT that was the whole fucking point of the game. They didn't intend for one particular type of gun to found multiple times. Instead of looking for one gun in particular gearbox expected the player to not care what they got if it was good! So when people bash a game because a glitch isn't easy, well I say boo fucking hoo, sorry that gearbox didn't make the game easy for you.
