Nice attachment, Ross. You’re a great fabricator so I’m sure you’ll come up with something great! I’m a fan of metal dollys over wooden ones. Attaching permanent wheels is an interesting idea.
Thank you Ed, I've been thinking of adding permanent dollies to all my implements, then I'll just be able to flip them down to use and not worrying about storing extra dollies all the time.
Good day Ross, yes beautiful colors on tree 👌👍😉 OUTSTANDING Wallenstein Wood Shipper Informative Maintenance video 😉👍👌 Ross just installed directly under your wood shipper 4 rollers wheel on the frame 👌👍😉 It will help the keep the frame dryer too when you are using it 😉👍👌 Cheers 🍻🍻
Ross, the edge on those blades is simply astounding...I can't believe there's not a single nick or deformity. Incredible. 👍 Also, love the foliage color...still hardly any here yet. Have a great weekend...
Ross I have a old Tackle box in my main tractor that has all the tools I need for tractor and implements. Shear pins, extra bolts and nuts etc., for everything and is always in the tractor. Have a ammo box with basic tools on my other tractor and a tool box in back of my Gator. The wood chipper you could build a frame out of angle iron with caster and the base of the wood chipper could sit in it when storing. Another idea I did on my back blade was I welded pipe on it and then slide another pipe inside pipe pieces on blade with pin hole. Short pipe ledge with casters on bottom. Lift up with tractor then put pipes in and sit it down and unhook and wheel away.
Hey Bob, ya I'm thinking I may just fill the ammo box in my tractor with tools. I was thinking of something similar to a sleeved wheel system that can rotate out of the way. We'll see. That's going to be a winter project.
Ross, I have a Beco 4inch chipper. I added 2 piece of C channel below to raise if off the ground when chipping since I was using a bigger tractor MF165. As for mobility, I ended up putting 4 wheel on a good pallet and just drop the chipper on it when done. The pallet with wheel moves nicely enough on a concrete floor and makes it very easy to hook/unhook from the 3PH.
That's a good idea as well I would have liked a shredder as well but the chipper works great. I like using pallets as well, do you have a quick hitch? I don't think I should get one.
As you 'shot' the grease into those U-joints and the excess came out, you said "gross" but fear not, you can either wipe that away with an old rag, or leave it there. That is another reason for those large 'umbrella' covers over the 'joints'. One that shaft spins up, that "gross" grease will be all but invisible :) I found the view inside the chipper to be very helpful for my project.
Hey Reg! Those are all extremely valid points! Haha. I didn't think about the grease flinging off when spun. Let me know if you want more pics or measurements.
@@RossOnTheLand Haha,.. thanks for the offer Ross, but I went on-line and printed the Owners Manual for your Chipper, this gives me pretty well, everything I need.
Ross: you could put the wrench in the info/manual tube. Folding set of wheels would work, as long as they do not fall down when you are driving the BX to the chipper area. Take care and stay safe. PS: my trees are almost naked of leaves. From the other end of the valley.
Hey nice vid. what I use for my snowblower in the winter is a pallet with caster wheels. This way if I have to remove the snowblower for some reason mid winter I just drop it on the pallet and wheel it off to the side to work on the rear end or if I have to switch to another tool. Glenn.
It looks like a great attachment and it appears to have a flat base which would make it easy to make a dolly. At the back it looks like it as slots to enable it to be lifted by a forklift, if these are at the front too this would help make something that slides in however I do like your idea of having something the folds down
Hey Ross, I see that you have a Lock N Lube. I have been wanting that. There are some places that I won't be able to use on my equipment but I have multiple grease guns. I see that your feed hopper isn't even scratched up yet. You keep that baby lookin g in show room shape. Good job Ross.
Hi Gary, I can confirm the Lock N Lube fits on every BX zerk :) and I never fight to remove it when it gets stuck on and my fingers are slippery haha. Have a good weekend
Humm…I have an idea for your cart… you could weld some “tracks” under the chipper and then weld 2 sets of 2 casters on a frame that would slide in the tracks when you need them, just slide them out when you don’t 🤔🤷🏼♂️. Don’t know if you see where I’m going with this 🤔🤣🤣. Good luck 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻
Hi Ross... I'd stick with your program... that's a separate frame... if the wheels are left on they'll just get in the way...the colours on the trees this year are just fabulous..
Great video as usual but I really was hoping to see you make that dolly for your wood chipper. I guess it will be another video so it’s really not a loss now is it? Just wondering if you’re going to go down to the equip expo in Louisville next week? I will be attending.
Ah Edward, I will not be going down that way. Maybe next year. I will be making a video of it but that's going to be a winter project. Cheers have fun at the show.

Maintenance is key to long equipment life. Did I miss the part where you waxed it? 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Brad! You didn't miss it. I didn't do that... Yet... :) Haha

Thanks Chris, I'm amazed as well. The blades are still perfect! The machine is flawless. Have an awesome weekend my friend
That Quick-attach Lube nozzle is so nice !
Great idea on the dollys
I have dirt floors so I just use skids
Great ideas
Thanks Phil ya I'm happy to think of rolling ideas. But sometimes I put them on the gravel pad so bigger wheels would help.

I would make a dolly out of metal with swivel casters for ease of mobility. The folding chute with a hinge is a great idea for compactness.
My thoughts exactly! Cheers, thank you for watching and commenting

@@RossOnTheLand No I don't but I was thinking about it. Everybody seem to say that it is way easier to hook up implements

Hello, ya that's what I'm thinking some sort of hinged operation. I suspect the leaves will start falling next week. Have a great weekend

Hello Joseph, yes it's flat and yes they are pallet fork lift points. I could use them for sure. Thanks have a good weekend
Perhaps attach adjustable lawm mower or lawn tractor deck wheels onto the base of the chipper.
Hi Paul, I'd probably do something like that with a spring hinge to flip them up out of the way when using it. Good idea

Nice video. Thinks for keeping it short.
You are welcome these types are better short for sure. Have a great weekend
I cut more wood on my land today. Sure could use that chipper here.
Hi Noel, I could toss it on the bus for you! Haha.
@@RossOnTheLand I could hook it to my 1951 tea20 Ferguson tractor.
When will It be here. ?????
Hehe.
Thanks Ross

Ah that's a good idea, but I'm trying to keep the rolling bits attached so I don't have to store the wheels somewhere else.
Hey Ross, I really do like that chipper. It's looking like fall there, man. Still green here. Weird!
Not weird.. Ontario sucks, but at least we don't have snow yet like Justin :(
Hi Ross... I'd stick with your program... that's a separate frame... if the wheels are left on they'll just get in the way...the colours on the trees this year are just fabulous..
Where's the fun in that! Haha. I may start with a separate frame, that can be bolted on or something. Thanks BJ!

Harbor freight furniture dolly with wheels
That's the direction I am thinking. I've been using old bed frames for the other implements so I'll probably go that route again. Cheers.
Hi Ross- great idea for fabricating the metal dollys on permanently. What is in the black tube attached to the wood chipper?🤔
Hello Jeffrey, thanks. Dollies make moving stuff around way easier. The black tube is the manual. Also there are a few extra bolts inside.
