If your garage door is getting stuck, or stopping half way up, it could simply just need some lubricant in the right places.
Door Lube: amzn.to/2fUs9VD
This will also reduce the squeaks and screeching you may hear when opening or closing the garage door. In addition, it will prolong the life of your door and opener components.

My garage door has been shaking hard, getting stuck, making noise for the past almost year. Just about to call for service then I saw this. OMG this worked INSTANTLY. So simple but I had to you tube. Glad I found this. Thank you so much what a life saver!
Good close-up camera work and explanation/demonstration. Well done, Sir.
Thank-you Andrew.. You've made my father a happy man.
Man you are a great guy to spend all this time and effort to educate the public for no money.
Andrew, Thank you very much! This stopped the screeching and squealing sounds when my garage door opened and closed. Those sounds were comparable to someone scratching a chalkboard with their nails. So thanks again!
Thank you Andrew! I wish I would have watched your video 1.5 years ago when we first purchased our home. I was busy with other projects and as a quick fix applied grease to the tracks - bad idea. Tonight I replaced the garage rollers. Needed but did not solve the sound issue. It ended up being the darn shuttle on the track that was making the moaning and creaking sounds FOR 18 MONTHS. It is gone. Eliminated. I shouted to my wife to hurry downstairs so she could hear the garage close in peace. I tested at least a dozen times to make sure I was not crazy. Much appreciated!
Thanks for your video, Andrew. It worked wonders for my garage door. Now it doesn't get stuck and the squeaky noise is gone!!!

You sir are a genius! Been trying to figure this out for awhile and was just about to call a specialist. Such an easy fix. Thank you.
The only tip to add here would be to clean the visible accumulated dust/gunk from any parts before spraying the lube, especially the lower track the wheels roll on. --Might as well.
Dude, you're a genius! A buddy of mine told me he spent 150 BUCKS to have routine maintenance done to fix his finicky garage door. Thanks to you, I only spent FIVE BUCKS!! You rock, dude!!
Thanks a lot for the instructions! It worked for my garage getting stuck while opening.
Hi Mr. Andrew,
Thank you very much for sharing this maintenance tips with us, it sure helps very will, but the issue I have is that my garage door only open a few inches . Thank you again

Excellent How-To Lube a Garage Door Video! Thanks
That was really a very important information describing in a very simple way. Thanks
Can't wait to try the tips tomorrow
Hi Andrew. Great video. This video help me so much to find my garage door opener issue. Thanks so much.
Thank you! you definitely helped me.
Thanks for the explanation about the grease, mine just started locking while closing, I can see the grease/lube is like a black play-doh making the door stick. Time to clean and use the proper Lubricant! TY
Thanks mate, your tip actually worked.
Thx. Helped me for now. Let's hope it works long term.
thanks so much for your video. I was having trouble figuring this out after lubing everything over and over. I notice it only happens when its hot and sunny... which makes total sense now.
What?
Very helpful video ! Thanks !
Thank you. Garage door now works like it should
Thanks for the tip. 👍🏾
Tyvm for the video! You guys are lifesavers 🤩
Bought the blaster spray and applied as shown in the video - all fixed!!
GREAT Video. Thank you!
Great job!
Great Clip for service
3:32 good catch. If you have an adjustable toque drill and you able to properly adjust the torque(it's not much, those are just giant sheet metal screws, that's why they loosen up), then you can quickly hit all the screws(I think are are over 100 in most doors) and you'll be surprised how many are loose.
what the hell is an adjustable torque drill lol
@@washedupwarvet2027 Most modern battery powered drills will have a series of numbers on the side of the collar near the chuck. That adjusts a slip clutch inside the drill that stops the chuck from turning when it reaches a set amount of resistance. The the higher the number, the more the force.
It is not precise, and even a low setting can get screws very tight depending on how long you let it rattle, so it's best to start low.
Sometimes they are also called "driver/drills" or just "drivers" if they just have a quick release chuck instead of a standard drill chuck.
Also, those are different from "impact drivers" or "impact wrenches".
It fixed my problem. Thanks!
Thanks really helpful vid good work bud
Great video. thanks!
very good. It helps a lot!
I hope this works because I've just spent two hours trying to get out of my garage and I'm steaming. I've tried everything, including adjusting the sensors. It will come up and then down and then nothing.
Great video
My door did not go all the way down so I spray all moving parts and it still had problem but when I cleand the nailon sealing outside the door and spray that with nailon lub everything worked fine. :) that all worked good together
I do lube the springs, but I do *not* lube where the spring seats on the cone. In the case of residential doors, the only thing holding the spring on is friction. I've only heard rumors of springs coming off the cones, so it probably won't happen, but I still don't like to tempt fate.
Thanks so much! This did the trick for me
This is a great video.
Thank You!
Hey Andrew , we are in a cold and freezing city with snow on the ground for at least 6 months . My garage door gets stuck ( some where at the mechanism not tot he floor)every single morning now that the nights are freezing and frosty . during the day it is smooth to open and works . please advice what should I do to eliminate the stress of opening the garage during the mornings esp RUSH HOURS for leaving to work ?
totally just fixed my issue with the door hanging when opening. good maintenance tip!
It's really helpful. Thanks
thanks again
Mine has the plastic wheels and they were making a horrible noise. To fix that I got a precision oil bottle with a long fine tip and sprayed some silicone in it. Next oil the wheels where they are on the ends of the spindles on the door, where the plastic meets the metal. Don't oil the track itself. To get enough room for the oil, you may want to get a flat screw driver and wedge the wheel very gently and that is where I oiled mine. Make sure to unplug the opener first. You may need a few drops of oil for each wheel and you may have to run the door a few times to make the noise go away and if you do what I did it will get better with each cycle until it can not get any better. I have one of those garage door openers with the DC motor and it is almost silent. I never had a garage door opener so silent before. I am 40 years old and have heard some awful sounding garage door openers that would surely wake some people up.
Is silicone spray what he uses in this video or will it have the same effect cuz I have some of that lol?!
How to tighten the chair on your Stanley garage door proper way. John thanks
I like the part where you hosed the drywall down with the blaster spray, actually you should hold a rag up there to catch overspray.
I fixed it by turning the little blue button to make the motor less sensitive. Before that it would stop at the turn and retract back again. My garage was open for days until I did this simple trick. All the spray in the world won’t change that slight difference the track gets on a cold day.
Because that is a very different issue then what he is talking about in this video...
What is the name of the lube
Thank you, Andrew. Lots of things I did not know but needed to. James
LaogongPete If you do not lube up your garage door it will fail
my garage pully got loose now the red bolts wont tighten any suggestions
My garage door only closes, wont revers to open tried putting adjustments screws in original position but only closes an locks hard to the end by garage door...
The original problem was only opening 1/3 the way before i tried adjusting screws, then it just started only going towards close position very hard an locking
Would a dry graphite lube work?
Blaster? Why describe what this spray is?
I hit it when some buster. Weather seems to effect it depending on not and cold. It warm weather. Slides right open. Cold. It catches and screeches badly
W40 not good?
Just got done watching another video on garage doors they say not to lubricate the track??
right, tracks should not be lubricate, it is just like you make road wet and slippery, it attracts dirt over time and makes it hard for roller to move across track.
Change out the steel rollers with nylon rollers! ;)
I thought you cannot spray on the truck because you need the roller to roll on the track but you can put some grease on the nuts
I don't think you're supposed to lubricate the torsion spring are you?
How do I replace the carrage on a digidoor motor
Spraying the track and shuttle rail won't necessarily prolong the life. Especially the door track, you want to clean grease out of there instead of greasing it to prevent stuff from building up in there and the door jumping
Winter time I have problem to open or close
ANDREW PLEASE HELP! I'm on permanent disability and can't drop another $150 for a door repair visit... My garage was only opening about 2 feet, I checked for obstructions and see none, I disengaged the opener to move it manually, it's very heavy but no issues. Now, when I activate the opener, (while disengaged) the shuttle still only moves the 2 feet and the chain/shuttle stop cold. I see no breaks in the chain, it hangs a bit loose but it always has and still worked properly. What can I check? Thanks so much
Tommy Daly it’s probably the capacitor can replace easily only like 15 bux
Good maintenance idea & Info, BUT using an oil will result in dripping onto garage floor or vehicles, etc. !!
When using the remote, door will travel about 2 feet, Works fine with wall unit.....Any Ideas? Thanks
We had this happening and replaced our travel module for $28. Bought from Amazon.
My garage door opens all the way up and then closer.keeps running up and down.
I thought it was supposed to be noisy...who knew? Now I am looking forward to de-squeaking my doors...

So many conflicting instructions that the track should be greased vs not-greased. Idk which is right.
the correct answer is "it depends" ;)
If you have all-steel rollers, it can reduce wear and noise.
If you have "all"-plastic (nylon?) rollers(no bearings) some grease type _may_ attack the plastic and damage it. But I think they should still be lubed with silicone, the rollers, that is. I think some people believe that a slippery track can cause the plastic rollers to slide and get flat spots. IMO, if that happens, it's more than just a slippery track being the problem. The rollers must aslo be sticking.
Then there are nylon coated steel bearing rollers. The bearings should be lubed, but the track won't need to be.
Personally, I happened have to all steel rollers, I just hose them down, and if that lube gets tracked around the tracks, I don't worry about it.
l337pwnage agree
shadowx089 you’re right.
Never lube the tracks! If the bearings are sealed leave them alone. Don't use WD40.
Lube over kill and if you want your garage door to Not to be so noisy try tightening your chain I can see it hanging below the rail
Can anybody tell me if Silicone Spray is the same thing he uses in this video or will it have the same effect?!
Great video, but there is zero benefit from spraying the springs.
thanks for the video, well spoken. My one suggestion would be to add a light (like a flashlight) when shooting.
NEVER lube the tracks !!!!!!!
Why?
@@darenleeper1644 Dust collects and it gets "gummy" and eventually sticks/jams.
@@johnc3601 thank you
Can we use W40?
the shuttle... lol fyi it's called the trolly
W D40 is a degreaser and cleaner. The opposite of what your trying to accomplish.
Antonio cantu. My can of wd40 says it is a "lubricate" rite on the can and for rollers, and getting rid of squeaks.
Never take advice from someone y who can't tell the difference between your and you're.
WD stands for water displacement
Great to see that woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
you could have tried a before and after
Can you use WD-40?
NO!
YES!
99.9 percent of the time it's the torsion spring that needs adjusting.
Good info, but low lighting and hand in the way of camera makes it a little difficult to see.
Use only dry lube I have work 30 years doing this wet lube is the worst thing to use
I am sure you can still buy handbook with all info you need on WoodPrix. Just google it.
Do these steps before having a tune-up guy come out. It could save you $75 bucks or more.
thz
I think you need to take some time and go to woodprix website to learn how to make it.
Other instructors say “not to lubricant side tracks”. In time, they just attract dirt and build up, creating friction and sludge. YOU SAY TO LUBRICANT THEM. WHO IS RIGHT?!!!
You talk too much
How many times do you say go ahead...must be an American annoying thing
You are welcome to take time out of your life to create your own youtube channel and your own videos where you don't say "annoying American things" while you try and help others.
