I wish you would have shown the coil all the way around. It's hard to tell if we both have the same coil or not. Do you have the smaller section off to the left? Very hard to tell. What's your part # to that coil???
Well, the coil you need will depend on what model engine you have. On Briggs engines, the Model, Type, and Date Code is stamped either into the engine shroud or into the valve cover.
soo i have a vintage briggs and stratton. i need to replace the coil but the old one has wires tht conect to the points. the new ones dont. how the hell does tht work
Did you get the right coil? Maybe you got one for a solid state ignition without points/condenser? I had a 1968 briggs engine and was able to eliminate points and condenser by upgrading to an electronic ignition. It required sending the flywheel to briggs and having them replace or re-polarize the magnet....
Can you show us where to hook the ground up on the switch

What about the head connected to the plug? You leave it exposed?
What is the part number for that firing cool
A link to the actually product you bought would have been useful as I can’t find my model number anywhere.

Good job...Didn't over talk it to death
How do you get to the coil 4:40
Remove engine shroud to access ignition coil.
