Most people tend to over estimate the wind. I reckon at the start when you were swimming out it was less than 5 knots.. at 5 knots that kite would have sat above your head all day. Super impressive light wind kiting 😊
I've the Hypermiler too but I don't yet change my feet position, have to change direction putting all my body in the water and moving handly the board. Any tips?
Cartolina Kite Hi! The hypermiller is good board. For transition best start by doing surface turn from toe to heel and heel to toe first. Once you are comfortable with that do the same but on the flight.
I do the jibe above the water, then when I'm riding toe sided,I drop the board on t water and switch my feet, but not while I'm above the, unfortunately. Still can't do that
Can only happen in foiling, the foil is super efficient because it has so very little drag it just cuts through the water is like taking a knife cutting through the water. Combined with foil kite which is so much more efficient than LEI kite, it generates power from flying forward. So when the foilboard moves forward it, the speed will generate lift on the foil kite to keep it flying forward. Because there is so little drag, the foil will keep on accelerating until it reaches its optimum speed. Everything is about drag! less drag means uses less energy.
danleow kite . Thx for the detailed answer brother. Its fascinating ! Iam thinking of getting a foil kite. Iam just wondering about the maintenance. And what size...iam 63kg expecting to kite around 9-10 knots. And also what about the brand. Is the ozone 1of the best around ?
@@Ronagery Flysurfer and Ozone are the best foil kites on the market, with your weight a 12/15m foil is enough, for the hydrofoil you have to choose something easiest at the beginning, the GhostW are race wings, I suggest NF2 always from Slingshot. The Hyper miler is a good board but even it race style, I also have it and is not so easy in the beginning
Erm! foil kites uses bridle on back and front lines. so my guess is you are refering back lines, on the kite back lines uses loop and kite front lines uses knob
Maybe bit to late but I'm using all last season hypermiller mainly for jumping. Awesome board. Hundreds jumps every session few times a week. Still going strong
These kites suck not worth three thousand and up to have kite fill with water if not relaunch quickly can’t use it in ocean because of small waves bridles stretch out kite needs to be readjusted if not done right kite won’t fly always like to bow tie every so often you are swimming back. So do you think kite worth it. Stick to inflatables ozone’s kite make the best inflatable kites out there but there foil kite suck don’t waste your money or should I say don’t piss your money like i did
I can't believe you pulled through that lull at the 1:24 mark lol. Awesome skill and nice riding
a bit of luck that the kite didn't get folded haha

5 knots can be felt weaker in warmer climates.
The speed meter and course degrees are really cool, is it from your camera / smartwatch? what app it is? Thanks
one of the best videos on the internet
nice save keeping the kite up!

Great video and great save in the lull. Can someone explain how with 7knots of wind you can ride with a speed of 18 knots !? Thx

Very impressive riding.. How did you do the video overlay?
I use Garmin Virb Edit software
what did you use to connect the ball stoppers for a line. I have a Kitech and need to string something to be able to grab with one hand if needed.
I came with the Ozone bar and lines. It is just a simple knot to keep the stopper ball from moving.
Yes with around $5000 dollars of equipment you too can mow the grass on lightwind days ;)
Hahaha yes!
Ross Brandli ii
maybe lots of $ but your ripping!
At speed! With a high level of skill! Everyone else is actually mowing their lawn. Foilers are out playing.
Honestly, no regrets.
Pretty cool. What sensors were you using for the weight distribution (bottom gauge)?
It came with the Garmin VirbX camera. The camera has a built-in accelerometer.
Does anyone know if the wing tips are pig tails or loops?

Have you tried it with shorter lines? Im getting a 15m UL and im concerned about how much wind i can hold on a foil.
I have tried the 11m Ultralight on 17m lines which makes the kite more responsive and direct feeling.
What kind of tracking/watch device is that that gives you the info in the bottom right of screen? Thanks!
Do you think the Hypermiler is enough strong for big jumps? i would like to buy one for doing freeride and freestyle.
Maybe bit to late but I'm using all last season hypermiller mainly for jumping. Awesome board. Hundreds jumps every session few times a week. Still going strong
Wow! Awesome!
How much does kite size matters compared to its weight for the low end?
For example, what if you had a 11m2 Chrono?
Have you stopped using your TKF setup?
I am not using my TKF setup anymore haha!
What is your weight?
I am 70kg
@@danleow thanks
how long were your lines? Was it the ultralight V2?
25m line on Chrono V2 not the Ultralight. The Ultralight will definitely have more power.
Nice save
Where is this?
On Balok Beach, Malaysia. Location 3.902877, 103.366489
Nice save!!!!!
You like the ghost whisperer?
Yes I like it. The foil is great for freeriding but is still far too slow for racing.
lol. Damn.
