I am glad you liked the song. It is a lovely and touching song. The culture is a very rich one and the Afghans have been working hard to preserve it despite the many hardships that the country has faced. Glad you have an interest in the culture.

Guys....it seems like a Kite Runner Fans Reunion Club of sorts...the way Khaled Hosseini has described Old Afganistan is just faciniating no doubt one could smell Kabab's right from the streets while Amir & Hassan were eating them!

@weppi91 Actually Afghan and Indian cultures are quite similar since they are both Indo-Iranian cultures.

@xabamsar They might have came from the same roots but that does not mean that they in their present day are very similar. Like, i mentioned they do have similarities but the cultures are still very different from one another.

@weppi91 It depends on what part of India you look at. South India is a whole different culture from Afghanistan while North India is like a brother.

I can assure you that the Indian and Afghan culture are not that similar at all. They might have some similarities as in all cultures but they are not that close- Trust me.

Just please be careful to not equate Afghan culture with Islamic rules. Sadly afghans have strayed from the religion and are very into music and flaunting their women (I am saying this as a conservative Muslim Afghan), things that are anti-islamic. Heck, the only reason I'm here listening to this garbage is because my parents are forcing me to get this for them lol.
Anyhow, please note that not even the kiterunner is very accurate about us in general.

This is not garbage _ you are illiterate- you need to get educated
Music is not garbage as long as it is not corrupted with bad proem etc
Any art can be corrupted like drawing, film and etc
We cannot throw music out because some people mix it with corrupted acts - that is their problem not the art
