I do believe the meta quest 4 will give apple some real competition
Don't rush, there will be a Quest Pro 2 that will be a strong competitor to Apple
Yes! I'm an Apple fan but I'm super excited for the Quest Pro 2. It will probably be cheaper and have Micro OLED displays.
Stick with the quest 3 or either buy the Apple Vision Pro cause I can’t wait for the oasis to come out
I think you forgot the biggest issue with VP. Total lack of VR gaming either stand alone or through PCVR. This limits the headset a lot. Why would I pay 7 times more for something so limited in its functions compared to the competition.
Bingo. Without an incentive for devs to create for it (rapid industry adoption) it's doa.
Quest 3 can use multiple apps same time
*_I want my work PC Windows desktop to be available on my headset. So when I go around the office, I have my files and folders and documents open whenever and wherever I need them to be, especially during a meeting or speech or presentation. At home, I want a great UA-cam and Netflix experience. Apple or Meta?_*
Quest 3, use fluid workrooms or virtual desktop 💪🏽
@@davidcache Thank you so much for the information. Can the Quest 2 do it also?
If you actually want to play VR games with your headset get a meta quest , these are both for entirely different purposes , ones for gaming , the other is for spreadsheets and watching the stock market , why even compare them , its like comparing a pc to a game console in terms of productivity on the device . Come on .
So true
What is the functionality gained from AVP that quest 3 doesn't have?
I can watch the stockmarket on my phone. Can do spreadsheets too (can get ChatGPT to do it for me). What even is your comment? 😂
Apple has made it very clear that the VP is an AR headset, which in itself is a whole thing.
It's clear that Apple's goals and target audience is different, there's a reason they haven't marketed this as a VR headset that does AR, like the Quest, a reason it doesn't come with controllers.
What they have made here is an attempt at a new type of computing, for whom, I don't know. What I do know is that Apple doesn't expect this to sell well, it's part of the reason for that insane price tag, alongside the insane R&D.
I don't suspect a Vision Pro or any future "Vision" product will be playing Half Life Alyx, to put it as bluntly as possible.
If you play games get the £450 Quest 3, it's a great headset, the AR is cool, but you won't use it much.
Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see AR taking off until it is ENTIRELY seamless, a pair of glasses. A non-noticeable part of eyewear. For right now we are at this weird in-between phase, that I think VR is going to win outright as it simply provides more immersive unique use cases. AR is just able to integrate stuff that is already possible into an overlay of the real world.
whay about the cracked lenses on the apple pro
The lack of controllers on the Vision Pro is annoying. I feel like we need a stylus.
If you have an existing controller, like a PS5 or Xbox Series, you can connect them via Bluetooth
How was your experience with it? Is the eye tracking bad?
@@dftfirebut that’s just playing games on a virtual display, not playing a game in VR which is a huge waste of its potential
@@dftfire I haven’t tried it yet for gaming but I will
@@Rich-je9fy it's too good, tried it with my friend. and watching movies in this is on a whole new level. you should experience it yourself. i know it's expensive but it's worth
Compare Vision Pro to Varjo XR-4 Mixed Reality Headset $3900 mixed reality headset
essentially with avp, you pay 3.5k for a really good screen and then it lacks everything quest 3 does
it just lacks the amount of apps quest has. it does everything better than quest. is it 7 times better? absolutely not. but it's definitely better.
@@Adam-xg1chhow can it do everything better when it hasn’t got the apps to do so? 🤷🏻♂️
They are functionally different. The AVP is supposed to be a computer and meta Quest 3 moreis more like a gaming PC/console.
@@aboucard93 no it is not. If that was the case then they wouldn’t have showcased it being used with a Mac for video editing. I’ve just had my Mac in my Quest in AR with 3 Mac screens up at once. I don’t think the AVP can do that yet, only multiple apps at once just now. I’ve no doubt more screens on a single Mac will happen. The fact is the Quest 3 can do 70% of what the AVP can do for a fraction of the price.
@@aboucard93 It's a gaming machine that can do everything the AVP can, just in lower fidelity and higher FOV/refresh rate. Meanwhile AVP can't do everything the Quest 3, for 7x the price.
Low res vs. 8K
$500?? Damn too expensive in my country. It's being sold at about $800 if converted
Apple vision pro is cool but I think the AR tech they’re trying to push is too early. I think they’re just showing off a bit and getting their foot in the door of AR/VR. Meta can make the same exact thing as apple but I think they want to build their user base with something more affordable.
lts not cheap $500 is MONEY !!
It's cheaper than the vision pro by 3 grand , seems a lot of people have a ton of money even though the economy sucks , I don't get it .
@@LightSnackProductionsBecause the economy is doing well.
It's a VR headset! Not a dollar tree water gun~
Apple vision pro is the future. They really almost perfected the interface and AR. Now all the other headsets will try to copy apple
That's great. Let them copy it, make it better, and price lower.
@@Minutes-iw2kq knowing apple, they wouldn’t reduce the price but instead they will create new version. Apple vision and apple vision pro, and then they will create very cheap one and call it apple vision SE
@@reda497 i meant the competition will price it lower but I understand what you mean
Just like Apple copied the other headsets. That's all tech for you. The competition is already 1/7th of the price and does everything AVP can do in a slightly lower fidelity, plus do more as well like play webxr videos and games since they have optional controllers.
The UI is limited because only eyes 👀 are used as the cursor/pointer (excluding Macbook as the controller when connected). Apple Vision Pro needs an option to use controllers to control its 'Spatial Computing'.
Clearly we are ending towards smart glasses
When pico 5 will launch
It won't. It cancelled. It will focus on another product to compete with apple vision pro
I'm still looking for someone to compare the two of them outside in direct sun. The Quest 2 was unusable in the backyard.
Why the hell are you using it outside? 😂
@@ThomasTheTankEngine22 I should be able to take a zoom meeting while tanning on the beach.
@@AustinCameron fair enough I guess. Not a use case I imagined people actually did
@@ThomasTheTankEngine22 In Florida, even a Macbook Pro at a coffee shop is unusable from sun glare.
@@AustinCameron understandable. Then my question is why would you think the vision pro will be any better?
I LOVE how I can charge my Quest wirelessly. Shocked the apple vision can't do that.
Superhuman is not the name of the workout app. It’s Supernatural.
Super something.
My thing is if you want it price shouldn’t matter…
Hovering your arms in the air with AVP is really fatiguing!
I use my eyes to see. It's free.
Just like saying “walking is free instead of having a bike/car”
@@mashy712 But cars and bikes are faster than walking. It's not like that all lol
@@franklingoodwinfacts
@@franklingoodwinthat’s the point they were making. It’s not the same, just like how VR isn’t the same as looking at reality.
Not the how my friend, but the what
I use the quest 2 and i think its still the best
Regardless of the pricing, today you'll have more fun with the Meta Quest than the AVP if your main objective is to play VR games. For everything else, saying that the 2 things are kind of "comparable" is like saying that a Ford Mustang is comparable to a Ferrari as it can take you from point A to point B just like a Ferrari takes you from point A to point B.
Nothing wrong in thinking that the Ferrari is not worth the price difference, but even remotely implying that the two things are comparable is just plain dumb.
Not just that to a Ferrari Burns more gas
next compare a lamborgini with a prius because you know of the difference of the price and not engines but the prius gets you to your destination the same way a lambo will get you.
The thing is the Quest 3 isn't a million miles away from the AVP, you can do 70% on the Quest 3, but there aren't any killer apps yet for the AVP. Well according to reviewers anyway.
lol i bet people back in the day said "why do i need a car when i have a horse and buggy?"
@@Adam-xg1ch how many years were cars on the go before the mainstream started getting into them? Lol
Stick with the quest 3 and wait until meta comes with their own oled displays.....
quest pro already has oled and eye tracking built in. However, I believe Apple's one is higher resolution and software is better for controller free navigation in general.
@@Siamashraful oh ok. But maybe a quest 4 will be better. For me the vision pro is not worth the money
Tried it snd it lacks so many basic funtions. The only advantage is has is clearer passthtough. But at 4k. Its a huge nooo
The field of view is just like your real eyes, you don’t stare straight ahead to see something on the side, you look at it. The ability to look at what’s over there with no delay, no lag is what makes the VP much better. Latency also has something to do with why people experience motion sickness and nausea while wearing the Quest and other headsets, but not the VP. Apple could have pulled a Tesla and priced the VP at $500 and it would have been GAME OVER. The other manufacturers had YEARS to address the problems stopping mass consumption-offering more than games, low latency and clearer screens and the Quest is the best they could do.
Look up big screen beyond
Not sure what you're suggesting... the FOV of the vision pro is quite a bit smaller than the Q3 - it's one of the bigger shortcomings of the vision pro IMO. It also has a slower refresh so again... you seem to be suggesting the vision pro has an advantage in latency when it's actually at a disadvantage. It DOES have an advantage in resolution and because of its smaller fov it has quite a bit higher pixel density but IMO that's a poor tradeoff (would much rather have the FOV). The VP does an OLED display so will have a better looking display (much better black levels).
The lack of content and design tradeoffs would have hurt the VP at any price point so I don't think it would "game over" the Quest 3 at all... also the lock-in to the Apple ecosystem (and poor support for PC's) will dramatically limit its market reach vs units like the Q3 that fully support PC's.
I'm still thinking about getting one since I DO have Mac's... but it definitely won't replace my Q3.
Apple couldn't priced this lower because all the money is actually going to advertising their subpar products to impressionable weirdos
@@banko-xv4rt as opposed to the delusional freaks that believe having the number 1 selling watch, smartphone, earbuds and laptop is due to tricking billions with ADVERTISING and not those people buying a thing that ticks more boxes for them than any other product? Ok genius.
But isn’t that expected from a $3500 of course it’s supposed to be better than quest 3 in display , tracking and power . But in terms of revolutions there is nothing revolutionary about Vision Pro
AVP has an excellent display and the interface is intuitive and frictionless..there is no comparison…
It looks like trying to compare an s24 ultra vs a a24 🤷♂️
Bro, wtf? OLED and 23 mega pixels? It’s an OLED, It’s not a camera. Since it is an oled 23 refers to million pixels!!
Since Apple said it in their official spec sheet. I also suggested the actual estimated resolution. Why u mad tho ?
@@Techninjaspeaks they did not. You are a UA-camr who provides information to the public. Giving wrong information is why i don’t like. I copied this from apple website: they mentioned a million pixels and not mega pixels like you said! If you are going to provide information then it should be correct
More pixels than a 4K TV. For each eye.
The custom micro‑OLED display system features 23 million pixels, delivering stunning resolution and colors. And a specially designed three‑element lens creates the feeling of a display that’s everywhere you look.
LOL.
Bro you’re trippin

No it's not worth the price
Stop 🛑 with the brand-snob capping nonsense. 🤦🏾♂️ There is absolutely no kind of experience in the Apple Vision Pro that's $3000 more than in a Meta Quest 3. PERIOD
Apple still all 2d apps, just in a 3d space. Yawn.
Every VR heasets seem like an experiment. Apple is the first company to go all out and built a quality product.
I'm an Android person and will wait for a "Quality" Google version. I heard Samsung might be working on something. 👍
The quest pro was very well built
Quest already uses android hardware. As someone who has used and owned VR headsets for years the quest 3 really is the most complete package. Meta definitely has a clear direction where they want to take it. The amount of content that’s on the quest platforms and their constant improvements with updates actually makes it impressive what you are getting for the price.

Will be nice when all the product managers give up on goggles. Same with self driving cars. Enough already.
Price shouldn’t even be mentioned…. Both are an apples to oranges comparison. Meta Quest is cheaper because of its build quality and surrounded in plastic. I’d certainly hope Vision Pro with the over engineered design would be at least 7x more expensive. Like the above commenter said above, it’s like comparing a broke person with a Mercedes AMG vs an entry level Mustang etc.
Price should always be used to compare two products in that occupy the same space. And he is comparing apples to apples. In what way is he comparing apples to oranges? Because you think The Vision Pro is so superior it's in its own category? It isn't, at least in it's current state. So definitely an apples to apples comparison. And you actually quoted that fool with all the emoji? Shame. Definitely not escaping the Apple sheep accusations by doing that lol.
Price definitely a factor. 👍
price is important, especially when you consider what you will be using it for, and in this case, the Quest 3 is superior in every aspect, especially considering the price.
