I’m pretty introverted, but Oddly enough I love sensory overload by non-social means. Psychedelics, extremely harsh loud music, horror films, all sound like a great time to me. I enjoy being completely overwhelmed in a purely sensory way, but in no way do I enjoy getting overwhelmed emotionally or socially. Different strokes I guess.
I wasn't until rediscovering the Jung books on my shelf gathering dust since University last year during the lock down that the Introvert/Extrovert duality made sense to me in a way that later models just never did. I like how he frames the phenomenon as starting from the subject and projecting out to the object vs starting from the object and conforming the subject to the object. I thought I was an extrovert for years because of the almost bi-annual MBTI assessments modern corporate culture forces upon us (nothing against the MBTI, it is just now that I am not thinking of batteries being charged it makes more sense). I love the rush and thrill of the world and all there is to discover, but that also means the infinity within is just as fascinating, and maybe more so. Now I can proudly proclaim, "Yes, I am an introvert and I will not turn away a neighbor." (though I may not seek out a rando for the hell of it)
The book The Highly Sensitive Person actually changed my life in such a profound way as it kind of initiated me into the practice of self discovery and self acceptance. So grateful it came into my life and so glad it’s helped others too.
Don’t know if anyone’s made this point yet; re. T’ai Chi if you’re doing it properly you’ll also be studying Chi Kung (or Qi Gong). Literally translated as breath energy practice there are many forms with different applications - some specifically for things like grounding, energy cleansing, energy regeneration, maintenance of the physical organs... there is also the physical aspect of T’ai Chi that is a martial art involving drills with partners, Martial applications and so forth. Your point is well made about the internal physical practices and the external ; and there’s an interesting dialogue to be had here. I offer this information to those who think T’ai Chi is just waving your arms around :)))
I think the last advice is VERY important and need to be emphasized! I would have gotten no where if I hadn't started thinking for myself and experimenting, not just taking what others said for granted and not just using ready-made formulas.
Such a wonderful point for maintaining energy. To avoid spiritual burnout I incorporate short video game sessions between deep esoteric studies. As well as alternate with house chores and “real work”. This balance sees that one is a welcomed break from the other. Both the mundane and the spiritual become escapism as well as grounding and therefore the integral nature starts to become apparent. A meditative life is the result and beauty can be appreciated in the smallest of tasks.
Great video and excellent points all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the late Scott Cunningham who wrote the first esoteric book I ever read, it has led me to learn so much more than I ever would have done, if I had not bought that book all those years ago. Buying it for me at that stage was a big deal, I was a very conventional Christian, however, I had a deep down feeling that I needed to broaden my horizon, find out for myself, not just believe the things I was taught. Now, some would call me a Christian, some a mystic, some a shakti devotee, some a Gnostic, some a Wiccan, some a magician......... and they would all be right! 😊
One of the most profound statements to mankind is that "MAN KNOW THYSELF".Your particular topic touches on self exploration.May you kindly recommend more books on the subject.Take it as for a total beginner. Thanks in advance.
This is the first time I've heard anyone recommend the 'externally focused activities,' in such a specific way, and it really rings true for me. For me, it helps to have physical activities and also be outside. I just realized at this very moment that that is how I 'ground' myself, while more ritualistic methods of grounding or meditation never work.
Thank you for that, @Roxanne. I've talked to so many people whose only grounding is meditation and Tai Chi, and I can confidently say that those are not 'grounding' enough 😅 Some of the foremost and most successful spiritual leaders were carpenters 😋 Build a table, bake some bread, feed some birds, dig a hole, work with the real world regularly. An exclusive focus on the inside is just as unhealthy as an exclusive focus on the outside! 🙏
As a somewhat gregarious introvert, it took me way too long to figure out I needed to recharge alone. It was one of Jung's books where I first discovered Introvert/Extrovert wasn't about how social you were, but how you recharge that it started to click.
I have been using a Transcranial Direct Current device of my own making for about six years. It certainly has boosted my cognitive abilities. I use a basic small volume control to address controlling the intensity. As a side note, I would add that it seems to actually help with manifesting things. In other words, they say that your thoughts have power. In my case, I give more power to my thoughts. Whether it's related to the documented effect that thoughts seem to have at the Quantum level of reality or not, my attainment of things that I want to bring into my life seems to be related to the use of TCDS. Consider that possibility. Prayer, meditation, etc. all brought up to another level with the addition of more power...So, be careful what you wish for.
How it works for me. 1 - I have an extra empty space I can do my things, outside of the house, but not aways is necessary, I don't work with evocations anymore anyways. 2 - People are great, there are aways things to be learned from people, they can be spurces of knowledge, tools for success and well, friends if I like them, I feel good around peoplw with a few exceptions. 3 - I do martial arts, it has both moments of internal and external focus. 4 - Found my pathnin a while, 19 years of pratice gotta count for something, but it doesn't mean it can change.
3:57 I just got this yesterday! I've started doing the sword banishing ritual and plan to begin the Master Protection ritual on June so that it's easier to keep count 😅 Definitely feeling changes with it.
Another great one brotha. 👌 something important for everyone Treading a magical path to consider. Music is my muse. I've also been trying to work my body more. If I'm being completely honest, I hate crowds and large social gatherings. I'm able to navigate such things with ease. But I just don't like it, never have. Magical hygiene is something that takes some getting used to, but it is very important to be concious of energetic blockages and build ups of "dirty" energy. Even positive energy can be bad if built up and blocked. I do wish I would have been able to participate in the Q+A yesterday. I was around, but feeling particularly anti social. 😔 I sat with my finger on the key to join for about 10 mins before realizing 🙃 I could not. Its been an interesting week. 🤔 I'm feeling quite confident and balanced today though. 😌 a feeling I'd like to cultivate as much as possible. PS: i forsee by next year your going to need an extra 7-10 mins to read off all the lvl 3 members 😆. I see them pouring into the discord fairly steadily.. 🙏⚖🗝

Here in Java we take fewer precautions than the western tradition, but salt is the universal cleanser. Sidr (lote) is also quiet common especially to bathe in. If we know the entity we have some specific substances e.g. coffee, dragon fruit, garlic (also somewhat universal).
OMG - that HSP book changed my life! I don't think I've ever met anyone else whose read it and every one I mentioned it to gave me an odd smile - half pity, half cringe. Lol. It's funny how things come around. And all the activities you recommend resemble Julia Cameron's concept of the 'artist's date'.
@@FoolishFishBooks I gotta say I like the cover with the flower much more. It is quite sweet and it does fit into a specific category of books, but from another perspective it's quite feng shui. On the other hand, the layout, font and image of the first one aren't as well balanced.
As a child I found is really super easy to conjure things in my bedroom. Which scared the hell out of me for ages. The energies lingered. However, as an adult I really do not have any success in conjuring entities anywhere in my home. I believe that the change is due to myself rather than the place, as I have attempted operations in my childhood home as an adult with no where near the same dramatic results. Whether the difference being as a child I was more sensitive to such energies, I am not sure. So, outside of prayers to the gods, I do any conjuring in the woods, which seems to work better for me as an adult. Would be interested to know if anyone has any knowledge on the reasons why.
Some people say it's because your third eye gets blocked over time as you grow up, which means the sensitivity you have towards different energies and entities decreases with time. To overcome this, you need to work on it but allow the process to happen naturally. Another reason might be practicality setting in. When you're a child it's much easier to believe in magic and unicorns, but much more difficult as a teen/adult because at that point it sets in that you can't have flying horses everywhere. To overcome this, I believe it's necessary to believe in magic, that there are many planes of existence, and most importantly believing in yourself. It's quite easy to notice when you're deprogramming your concious mind, and you can feel when your subconscious thoughts change as well, because physical world changes follow. Give it time, keep practicing, and believe in yourself💪💜
I know exactly what you mean when I was younger I had a relationship with an entity I picked up a few tricks but eventually our relationship soured and ever since then I haven't had nearly as much success in many magic practices
Very interesting! I often find the sharp distinction between "the introvert" and "the extrovert" quite grating to to what I believe to be the more mercurial motions of human sociability, but you have described these two aspects in such a way here as to allow aspects of the other and I applaud your moderation in this aspect. As what some people would describe as an extrovert, I certainly have social burn-outs too.
Very good. The managing your energy is a big one for me. I think it all boils down to balance. I believe there's a time and place for everything. I like to have my physical environment in order so my spiritual one can work in clear space. I little bit a travel and experiencing new things every now and then also does wonders. Also, that's funny you touched on the introverted thing. I'm very outgoing but a big intro. I took a Myers-Briggs workshop at work and found it enlightening. Know thyself! Be producers and not just consumers! "You will know them by their fruits".
I used a ouija board in my room once and afterwards the energy felt strange. I herd bangs coming from my wardrobe where I kept it and felt uneasy, I kept getting goose bumps and the hairs would stand up on my arm, it all culminated in me and a friend seeing an orb in front of us so I did the LBRP and the energy just went back to calmness and nothing has happened since! It literally just cleansed everything!
Where does EFT Emotional Freedom Technique fit in this self care spectrum. Also, earthing (also called grounding), I find it centering and healing. The EFT can be solo or in group.
I really enjoyed the HSP book and her follow up writings too. In there I think she said that there are some Extroverted HSPs also but, I think more we're introverted. Steelwind, below, no way I could handle the sensory overload you enjoy.
I'm into high magick and work as a psychic medium - I reached a point of finally having to have a crisis intervention with myself and force myself to get into something TANGIBLE. One thing I can strongly recommend to get tangible but not lose the magick is analog synth - especially Elektron Analog Four MKII. And electronic music in general. Then you're still safely on the threshold and not shopping at Wal-Mart or keeping up with the Kardashians or any number of toxic plebeian life-sucking pursuits.
While I don't use analog synths, I do experiment with sound a lot. I love taking field recordings and turning them into 'music,' and I agree with you that it is a great practice.
What a wonderful topic of discussion. I wholeheartedly agree with everything you've said here, and I think the introvert memes you used are pretty cute ones. I've been practicing a lot of self care as of late and spiritual care is a huge part of that. Practicing mindfulness by being present in an activity that focuses outward helps a lot.
I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, we spend so much of our time either in cyberspace or in mental arenas, it's important to check in with Malkuth from time to time 😊🙏
I just don’t get it: how do you manage to “conjure” such pertinent content so succinctly in such short videos. The value of your video content constructs, your incredible mastery of language, I think is one of your “gifts” I keep asking myself: what primary and secondary schools did you go to, I’d want to send my children there, your spoken English and (English) linguist comprehension is like mastery - so many many many schools in the English speaking world pale behind into insignificance comparatively, meaning students are missing out on something bigger/ macro, including piecing together life comprehension and analytics. Well done to your parents for having the foresight to get you into a good foundation [ Nevertheless, everyone else who is not on the linguistical plain you are at, perhaps develops linguistic cognition gifts in different tangents - eg comparatively Albert Einstein was a poor student but his brain caught up during later teenager years into adolescence and consequently surpassed the iq of the general population, meaning if the quality of our education on our formative years was a bit stunted, each of us can still continue on the learning path of life students/ perhaps when we stop learning our iq diminishes ]
I went to a state primary school in a poor area that was th emain school for the local orphanage... in France. At home, my British mother would listen to BBC Radio 4 all day in the kitchen, and had my grandmother send us issues of "Story Teller" every fortnight - a magazine full of traditional stories from around the world with fantastic illustrations. The magazine would always come with an accompanying cassette tape in which budding thespians (including Judi Dench and Brian Blessed) would read the stories in cut-glass Received Pronounciation accents. I listened to those tapes over and over and over. They were really my introduction to classic mythology and the world of traditional spirits etc. You can still find them on UA-cam.
I'm an HSP, I sooooo get it! The world is a noisey, draining place. Advise for HSP.... elements of earth and water is your best friend. Walk on the earth barefoot and swim
bad news : if you lose energy when you are with others, it means that you have a weakest potential. you need to train... (qigong moves, breathing exercices, meditation, physical workout, do things to push your limits / break your fears.)
Best place to evoke Nitika from Damon Brand's the Magical Cashbook? Anyone have any experience with doing so at home and if so how did it go? Where else would be a good place for Nitika?
I am beginning to suspect I let something in or something has taken residency within my home. I dread the idea that I have a parasitic attachment of sorts. Anyone with experience in this pls advise me.
Hello Foolish Fish, I recently came across your website and let me say I have taken the bate and gone down the rabbit hole. I have been a Germanic Heathen for the past 20 years and like Woden I seek wisdom wherever I can and you sir have a lot of wisdom to share. I recently bought Magickal Protection because of your endorsement of the book and I find it very interesting. I am 46 years old went to church and Sunday school as a child but have spent the last 20 years changing my world view from one of an Abrahamic world view to a Germanic one, I don't like the idea of working with angels much. My question to you is do you think it would be possibly practical or beneficial to modify the sword banishing ritual or any of the other rituals with Germanic gods or entities . Any ideas or thoughts you have on the matter would be very appreciated.
Hello. Enjoying the vids as usual. I have a question! Do you have any useful tips for meditation on the different Sephira? I would very much appreciate the reply
this is all new and very interesting. i stumbled upon these videos and i want to learn more. may i ask where can i begin as i have no background? i would like to learn magic.
There's a video on this channel about books for beginners! Learn protection first, (Magickal Protection by Damon Brand as mentioned in the video is amazing) and go with what interests you! You don't need to have any order to study as long as you learn and grow on the way 💜
Just ordered St. Theresa of avilas interior castle and the cloud of unknowing 🏰🌥️ and for the record a really think you should write a book on your thoughts on Christian mysticism, the occult, and magick the lot.......... Food for thought lol
Hi , im confused about this extrovert /introvert thing .. i consider myself an intorvert but have a real problem being alone wth myself and need people to get my mind off the internal world
Sounds to me like you need to spend more time alone battling those demons. As in, whatever thoughts and feelings surface that you're running away from.
If being seen with a book that has a flower on it makes you feel non manly, book covers or sleeves cost $1 to 90cents. Get a nice bright red one that brings out your masculinity. Lol
Check out my review of the Bronte sisters omnibus for a book with flowers on the cover that's actually well done. ua-cam.com/video/QYmdyqK7qMw/v-deo.html
You'd be wrong. These are essential steps for whatever magic you perform. Working with angels can be quite as taxing as working with demons, sometimes even more so.
@@FoolishFishBooks great channel btw. Much appreciated content mate. I've gotten into the gallery of magic books and I'm using the Angels of wrath currently for justice. Gordon winterfield and damon brand as well as other channels and there hosts seem to give assurance that as long as your serious with the magic and believe it to be fair then invoking an Angel with their sigil and concentrated emotion etc is absolutely safe. One man told me hes never heard of a demon masquerading as an angel before. I trust winterfield and brand that its absolutely safe. I have no intention of evoking an angel Also one of your previous videos made me calm down when I panicked after my first ever ritual which was an angel of wrath ritual. You told the viewer to chill out and very rarely do things go wrong. My comment in this video was about the first part not the rest of it. Only about the cleansing the space part. I still imagine I don't have to cleanse my bedroom where I perform the rituals ( big bedroom) after an angel of wrath ceremony. Or are you telling me I should? ( the book makes no mention of this ) You have me worried now. And I guess this is the reason why people leave magic. Fear. Could you put my mind at ease please. I wasn't expecting a response from you to be honest. I've also heard that these angels of wrath can be devastating on my enemies. Could you just very quickly review my process I'd be ever so grateful. You would be helping out myself and my elderly parents because the ritual I've allready done is to attack and subdue someone trying to take the roof over our heads unjustly. 1. Sigil in front of me hanging off a shelf. Printed or on my phone screen in front of me on the shelf. 2. Candles and incense for effect . 3. A prayer to God, Allah, yahweh, jehovah, the source of creating to keep me safe and to allow me to use his angels for justice. 3. Stare at the sigil and infuse emotionally the hurt, pain , fear and intent and need for justice 4. Scan the Hebrew words outer ring to inner ring. Then the inner most words in the sigil. Feeling the angels listening to me. 4. Speaking out my specific instructions to the angel/angels and feeling the wrath of what I'm asking for. 4. Vibrating the names of the angel/angels x amount of times and feeling the end result as I vibrate the names. Then I feel peace and say thank you and let it go I blow out the candles and get back to normal life. No signs no noise, no apparitions. Nothing out of the ordinary? How did I do ? Regards Shane
Thank you. (and a nudge to the algorythms)
That triangular hierarchy at the end is actually incredibly useful -- I can't believe I've never seen it before!

I just used 'aspect' three times in one sentence! Silly me :/
Same, like I need social interaction to be happy but also alone time to feel sane . . . I get drained from too much of either one.

2:40 lol I always feel my squat is never presentable to diety of any kind lol
Dude, you have SO MANY great book recommendations! I don't practice but I find the topic thoroughly fascinating.
Excellent tips and advices, Mr. “Fish”! Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for this, it's what I was needing today, hit the spot.
This is very helpful. Thank you, Foolish Fish!
thanks for the points on introversion!! glad to see some representation🌝
Where does EFT Emotional Freedom Technique fit in this self care spectrum. Also, earthing (also called grounding), I find it centering and healing. The EFT can be solo or in group.
Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing🖤
I really enjoyed the HSP book and her follow up writings too. In there I think she said that there are some Extroverted HSPs also but, I think more we're introverted. Steelwind, below, no way I could handle the sensory overload you enjoy.
One of my favorite videos! Packed with valuable advice.
Your videos are so helpful to us…thank you
Excellent presentation
I'm into high magick and work as a psychic medium - I reached a point of finally having to have a crisis intervention with myself and force myself to get into something TANGIBLE. One thing I can strongly recommend to get tangible but not lose the magick is analog synth - especially Elektron Analog Four MKII. And electronic music in general. Then you're still safely on the threshold and not shopping at Wal-Mart or keeping up with the Kardashians or any number of toxic plebeian life-sucking pursuits.
While I don't use analog synths, I do experiment with sound a lot. I love taking field recordings and turning them into 'music,' and I agree with you that it is a great practice.
knife sharpening is my hobby
What a wonderful topic of discussion. I wholeheartedly agree with everything you've said here, and I think the introvert memes you used are pretty cute ones. I've been practicing a lot of self care as of late and spiritual care is a huge part of that. Practicing mindfulness by being present in an activity that focuses outward helps a lot.
I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, we spend so much of our time either in cyberspace or in mental arenas, it's important to check in with Malkuth from time to time 😊🙏
Fantastic! Thank you
Really Good! Thanks.
Great video, thank you.
Excellent episode!
thank you.
Thank you for making this video. very informative and helpful.
Realest talk on the subject, subscribed immediately. Ey up from Leeds!
I just don’t get it: how do you manage to “conjure” such pertinent content so succinctly in such short videos. The value of your video content constructs, your incredible mastery of language, I think is one of your “gifts”
I keep asking myself: what primary and secondary schools did you go to, I’d want to send my children there, your spoken English and (English) linguist comprehension is like mastery - so many many many schools in the English speaking world pale behind into insignificance comparatively, meaning students are missing out on something bigger/ macro, including piecing together life comprehension and analytics. Well done to your parents for having the foresight to get you into a good foundation
[ Nevertheless, everyone else who is not on the linguistical plain you are at, perhaps develops linguistic cognition gifts in different tangents - eg comparatively Albert Einstein was a poor student but his brain caught up during later teenager years into adolescence and consequently surpassed the iq of the general population, meaning if the quality of our education on our formative years was a bit stunted, each of us can still continue on the learning path of life students/ perhaps when we stop learning our iq diminishes ]
So, I'm thinking there is some shadow work around pastels and flowers in Foolish Fish's future. :)
😂😂😂
Why not both? They each seem to have their specialties.
I'm an HSP, I sooooo get it! The world is a noisey, draining place. Advise for HSP.... elements of earth and water is your best friend. Walk on the earth barefoot and swim
it is easy to be weak and do nothing to improve your ability to cope with stressful situations...
I feel you should not add white sage it's something that should kinda be regarded as an inherited path and you can use any other kind of sage instead.
bad news :
if you lose energy when you are with others, it means that you have a weakest potential.
you need to train...
Always worked fine from home for me
hit home.
I am beginning to suspect I let something in or something has taken residency within my home.
I dread the idea that I have a parasitic attachment of sorts.
Anyone with experience in this pls advise me.
Banish, do the LBRP or any Banishing ritual that you do
Damon Brand's Magickal Protection is only a few bucks for the Kindle edition. You will thank yourself for it.
does fencing have a unique connection with magic ?
There's an interesting book called "The academy of the Sword" you might like
@@FoolishFishBooks thank you
Frankincense is great

I'm afraid I couldn't say. My gut feeling is... Give it a try and see if it works!
@@FoolishFishBooks I appreciate the reply, I'll give it a shot.
You don't need to have any order to study as long as you learn and grow on the way 💜
The Gallery of Magical books are very beginner-friendly.
@@abhilasha9608 Thank you i shall do so.
@@FoolishFishBooks thank you brother i will follow your recommendation.
Just ordered St. Theresa of avilas interior castle and the cloud of unknowing 🏰🌥️ and for the record a really think you should write a book on your thoughts on Christian mysticism, the occult, and magick the lot.......... Food for thought lol
Heptogenariom cat ladies 😂 wasn't expecting that
Hi , im confused about this extrovert /introvert thing .. i consider myself an intorvert but have a real problem being alone wth myself and need people to get my mind off the internal world
Sounds to me like you need to spend more time alone battling those demons. As in, whatever thoughts and feelings surface that you're running away from.
Just wondering Denis what would the best edition of the cloud of unknowing be to read, advice always appreciated.
The one I wrote the introduction for (published by Black Letter Press) ain't bad 😅👍
Lol magick, thankyou 👍
I draw esoteric cartoons and it helps me greatly
Love that analge meth queen cxxx 💐🌷💚 Hegemoon witch fairy

If being seen with a book that has a flower on it makes you feel non manly, book covers or sleeves cost $1 to 90cents. Get a nice bright red one that brings out your masculinity. Lol
Not sure it would make me feel particularly womanly either. It's just an awful cover 👵🏼😽
Check out my review of the Bronte sisters omnibus for a book with flowers on the cover that's actually well done. ua-cam.com/video/QYmdyqK7qMw/v-deo.html
But most importantly, the two covers I featured in this video just give an incorrect impression of the books' contents.
I imagine you don't Need to do this for angels lol
I have no intention of evoking an angel
Also one of your previous videos made me calm down when I panicked after my first ever ritual which was an angel of wrath ritual.
( the book makes no mention of this )
You have me worried now.
3. Stare at the sigil and infuse emotionally the hurt, pain , fear and intent and need for justice
Then I feel peace and say thank you and let it go
I blow out the candles and get back to normal life.
No signs no noise, no apparitions. Nothing out of the ordinary?
How did I do ?
Regards
Shane
There is no such thing as magic, just belief and manifestation.
