- NBA 2k23 was the last straw. I've been humiliated and lied to for too many years by 2k. It's the Dame game every year with more sweat and a roster update . I love basketball, and that's the only reason why I even bother trying to play this year after year. The 2K franchise needs competition, or else we will be subjected to mediocrity and gambling every single year without any sign of hope. I called upon a cowboy to express my disgust as only he can for I am too far gone to be saved.

The worst part is that they're going to continue to make money off of this franchise especially considering the fact that NBA 2K 24 will have Kobe Bryant on the cover. It's awful that they're using his image to screw people out of money and not do anything to improve the game overall. Honestly hope the game crashes and burns. And I hope people buying these NBA 2K Games smarten up and realize that the game is just the same thing over and over and over with barely anything added to the game that makes it seem new.
No man the same people will buy it again for 120 bucks and then immediately spend another 100 on their my player/ my team while they wonder around a sluggish pointless “city”

this is why games from back in the day is relevant to this day bcuz there was competition between the license holders/publishers. for basketball Komani had nba in the zone, Midway Games had: nba on nbc showtime, NBA Ballers, NBA MAXIMUM HANGTIME, NBA hoopz and NBA jam (for a short stint, that was originally created by acclaim) the same with wrestling games we had thq inc wwf/wwe games and wcw games while acclaim had ecw and wwf games, and ea had wcw mayhem and wcw backstage assault there was other franchises as well that was outside of the mega franchise we just had so much variety back then but it was original. were in a day in age where it's acceptable to cheer and glorify a watered down copy and pasted hand-me-downs from other publisher franchises that went out of business from an 2 and 3 decade old franchises bcuz the licensee can't come up with anything new. today's generation that's soo worried about graphics have no standards when it comes to anything else and will actively lie for the publisher just to get a free copy of the game early and sometimes rewrite history to build a narrative. so 'straight nose drive' is an understatement. but i can 1000% agree with u on that.
What really grinds my gears are the people who actively know about the blatant issues this game has, complain about the game and call for "boycotts" while STILL buying the game. Even if it's ironic, people giving money to these couch potatoes in suits aren't helping in the slightest

FACTS!! 2K17 was dog shit & 2K18 was the absolute last fucking straw. They glitched my character to where I lost all my badges & when I contacted them, they told me I had to buy more VC.
I immediately uninstalled that shit. I know for a fact they could've fixed it because they did it for my homie & popular UA-camrs by having them create a secondary mock character with the same build & stats to transfer everything over.
I hope this franchise crashes & burns just like Madden.

Nothing changes unless people actually stop buying these yearly releases. Idk how many people here also play Madden, but trust me when I say that Madden is just as bad if not twice as worse. Every year, I see people complain and complain but you can bet your ass you'll catch those same people streaming the new one when it comes out next year. When you can release the same game every year with updated rosters and know you're gonna sell a shit ton of copies, there is literally zero incentive for them to change anything.

The last NBA 2k I bought was NBA 2k17. It was filled with bugs and just straight up sucked. I stopped purchasing 2k games after that. NBA 2k11 was the best NBA game tho. Just makes me sad. The game pulls so much money from micro transactions but they don’t even try to make the game better

2k and madden should earn an award for how hard they have killed competition from making sports games. If madden doesn’t get that nfl exclusive rights deal, and if madden continued NBA live after 2018 which was 5 years ago (damn I can’t believe I’m saying that) I believe both franchises would still be in that mid to great range for sport games. The last great titles for both franchises were probably madden 11 or 12 and the last great 2k was 2k16. Each 2k now has its own major flaw, 23 you get no vc for your hard work, 22 you had wonking shooting, 21 you had some games feeling scripted and the Ai on your team playing like actual filth compared to their real life counterparts, 20 and 18 player could cheese the game and not have to use real skill to win games (the true start of the left right cheese were these years) and 18 introduced vc again (the beginning of the end remember they tried this in 2k13 and that shit was garbage to) whis is a huge drop off compared to attribute points/skill points in 2k17 and 2k16 and is also by everyone in the community as the worst 2k of all time. 2k17s problem was just lag to be honest and 2k16 was goated 🐐.
I stopped buying sports games back when Carmelo was on the case. Not buying the same game every year
NBA 2K and Madden just prove to us that AI maybe isn’t the threat we think it is, but then we have to realize who is developing this AI. Leagues don’t care I guess, as long as the grosses stay up, the quality will never change.

I swear they said cross play was coming when 2k16 was out. 2k11, 14-16 are amazing. People coped so hard when 17 came out and it's been downhill since. Also, 2k has the most toxic and awful community in all of gaming.
I just don't understand why they keep making you pump fake in scenarios where there's no reason to on top of it not mattering whether you shoot quickly or hold the button and they stall, it literally makes no sense.
It's like they pick and choose when they want the same functions to work a certain way and from somebody who comes from the OG era, it's bordline maddening which is why I even rarely play now.
This is what happened when Madden got exclusive rights to produce NFL games. Without any competition they just kept releasing the same terrible game every year extoeting money from players. I gave up on madden 20 years ago

@@fdub301 Two of my favorite NBA 2K games was 2K5 and 2K6 cause of the player movements and gameplay was more fun back then. I haven't played a NBA 2K game since 2K13. Even today I still have 2K6 and i'll play that before any other modern disaster 2K Games puts out.

The only thing I wish you added which is, I think, the most egregious part of the NBA 2K games is that they close down servers for each game 2 years after they come out, which is just baffling how it is not an illegal anti consumer practice. The fact that they lock you out of your career after having grinded and, for some people, having given money (never do that) is such a spit in everyone's face except shareholders. I'm sure they could easily make everything accessible offline too, but that would hurt the bottom line of the next iteration of their recycled franchise too much. Wake up sports game enjoyers.

NBA 2K is now at the same level as Madden, at least the devs at Madden are trying to improve the features of the game (it's been average at best, to be honest) than 2K. 2K has been lazy with the money that it makes thanks to virtual trading cards mode and that's why the gameplay hasn't been improved.
Taking a break this year. I don’t see them really improving the game in one year. They should just make one game and continue to expand on it from there but, that’s not going to happen. Yearly pointless release and nothing transfer over too like wtf

Why make a brand new game if you can just update the graphics and change a few numbers and pictures within the game for the new season, and then just add a select few new players were drafted/are starting now?

I stopped buying madden and 2k after 2020 then I decided to give 2k23 a chance because of MYeras. Due to the horrible shooting I got about 10hrs tops in the game. I am convinced 2k and madden are designed to make people stressed and sick. Part of me believes Take Two interactive is in bed with big pharma to get more gamers prescribed blood pressure medication. Soulsborne and Fighting Games are less stressful than those two shitty franchises. Gaming is great again for me after I have stopped playing 2k and madden. Salute to you deciding to save your money. Don't get me started on "Real Basketball". Keep the vids coming.

The last truly "great" NBA 2K in my opinion is 2K16. Everything since been GARBAGE. The best 2K since the start of the 8th gen is 2K14.

Vid earned you a lifetime sub. It's VERY important to understand how important the 2k creator community is to the current state, y'all MUST keep on making these and hopefully within a few editions we'll see one of the following:
1. 2K actually calms their GREEDY fucking asses & make a decent game that's not gonna ask you $200 to be able to pay it;
2. People will actually STOP buying this shit - WE, the fucking community hold ALL the power and it's about time they understand that;
3. And preferably the ideal solution - ANOTHER DEVELOPER (not saying necessarily EA) will swoop in, see the 2K's downfall and huge market they could benefit of and make a better product.
I'm saying the 3rd is the preferable one because regardless that I've been playing this game since 2k20 online and having a fair share of good moments, nothing would make me happier than to SWITCH on 2K's FUCKING GREEDY ASSES in a fucking heartbeat if another developer makes something decent and won't require hundreds of $ per year to play it.
Bring Midway back because sims are just mobile game levels of cashing in now. At least Midway would let me punch something.
Im glad i didnt pay for this game. It was added to my playstation extra membership. I always like being able to customize and create fictional teams, I find myself going through all of the trouble of making designs just for the 2K servers to take a dump and i can not upload any new things i change about the teams, it takes forever for my designs to show up after i upload those designs to the 2K upload website. Its just a massive pain in the ass. Also, im kinda new to 2K games, Now i know why they are hated so much not just because of actual gameplay.
