I own a 2oo8 Retro. It has the high front fender. The shocks (especially the front fork) for sure are a weak point. I already had it rebuilt once, but that only helped a little.
The Retro for reasons unknown to me came without a spare wheel. Eventually I sourced another wheel second hand and use it as a spare.
The bike goes up to 70mph, but it takes a while to get there. Wish the engine was more powerful.
The bike has overall been good and reliable to me. And (once jetted correctly) starts very easily.
I also added a jerry can and ammo box.

    Another great, informative video!
I had the opportunity to do a side by side test ride of my own 2016 Gear Up and an older BMW sidecar hack a couple of months ago, and the steering geometry between my Earl’s fork and the BMW’s telescopic forks was a real eye opener for both of us!
Like any machine, it’s important to practice, practice, practice and get to intimately know it.
Under heavy braking, telescopic forks geometry changes when the sidecar is weighted, or there’s a passenger is in the sidecar.
My newer Gear Up with Leading Link suspension tracked almost as straight as an arrow.
The difference was very noticeable, but with a little practice, I finally got the hang of the telescopics.
No matter what rig you ride, never stop honing your skills.
It can make the difference between a good day and a bad day.
Ride safe, my brothers & sisters!!!

See my Avatar, that is one of my Retros. Has 113 K on her. If you have seen my videos, my other Retro, 2018 with Gen 2 EFI, just came back from a trip to Europe. She did really well... and I've had a Burgundy M70 neither me nor anyone else really want to talk about, but she sure is pretty. Then there is the Northern Explorer that would have been neat to own! A Wolf with a sidecar would be nice... all Retro based. Enjoy... Great video Dmitry! We need a Retro in Urals line up again!
