More excellent teaching, Peter. Thank you. The magic of connection (sequencing) and leverage. I'm 70 years old and have played golf since I was a child. Your approach and communication are the clearest and most sensible I've seen in all those years.

I look upto your swing Peter, so smooth and it always looks just effortless !! You make it look so easy but you also show us how easy it can be for us higher handicappers to achieve as long as we listen, watch, learn and practise. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to help all of us out I definitely appreciate it and so does my scorecard 👍

Great stuff Pete, I just shot my first 9 hole round under par and the majority of my swing base has been from you! I can not thank you enough for the stuff you put out has really helped since getting back in the game. It was 4 under through 9!

Loved this video Peter. Your swing is to be admired. Since returning to golf after 10 years, I've noticed that I can't swing like I used too and need to find a new effective swing for me. Your videos have really inspired me to change my swing at the age of 50! At times it can be frustrating but drawing the positives from each session keep me going. Keep up the great work Peter!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your short concise teaching videos. Todays was exceptional. I think the term buttery smooth goes along way. When your trying to make changes, it can be difficult because we are trying to force the change. When you hit it correct it feels like no effort at all. (buttery smooth) And the phrase to ALLOW your left heel to lift off the ground was an excellent way to phrase it. Trying to do that in the past I've found myself forcibly trying to lift it, instead of ALLOWING it to lift. The bell went off in my head, makes for an easier backswing and a much smoother transition. Just tried it in the backyard, what difference, can't wait to try it tomorrow. If I could be half as smooth as you, I feel I would have accomplished a lot. Thanks again.

Hi Pete. Love your channels, keep up the amazing work. I've just played a round this weekend and complained about my inability to transfer my weight when playing a round compared to being on the driving range. I'm definitely going to focus on this more and have that patience you talk about, to let the upper body catch up to the movements made in the legs/hips starting off the kinetic chain. It's amazing how slow your swing looks but how much effortless power you actually generate.
Your driving against rick in the latest golf bidder video was absolutely nuts!
    Awesome work Pete as always.

This is great advice. For a long time I was really struggling with my swing because I kept trying to throw my hands forward through the ball. Once I decided to try and slow down and not force it, and just let my hands naturally trail through, it made such a huge difference.

Best video ever and great explanation re sequence. Just came back from the range, and I have never ever swung the club with this kind of tempo or result ever. Will be playing a round tomorrow with my new swing. THANK YOU!

I slow the whole thing down and now I can hit the ball straight ish. I did some other things of course to get it on plane, but playing a club up has really helped me stay focused on smooth.

Apart from tempo I also like your backswing. It seems only a 3/4 backswing (compared to Rory for instance) , but still you manage to get high speed. a 3/4 backswing also makes it easier to find the middle of the club face I guess? which is paramount for good distance... I think I loose control because I go too far far back

Love it. I've been playing golf for a couple years now and my biggest struggle is "attacking" the ball from the top of my back swing. It's such a hard habit to break for me. My best ball striking days I always feel a smooth rhythm and I feel like my arms are trailing behind my body as I make my downswing. I'll keep working and practicing until I make that the norm. Cheers mate

  • @Samec37

Can you talk about your grip? My lead hand tends to get too strong causing me to feel like I have to come across the line hitting a pull fade.

Do 3 pretty practice back swings then step away, then do 2 pretty practice back swings then promtly set up to the ball and hit it with your 3rd pretty practice back swing. Job done!

This is something I’ve been trying to figure out recently and have been struggling with. I’ll have brief little moments where it seems like it clicks, and I’ll feel like I got my hips and torso turning and it feels like I’m moving more slowly, but the club head whips through and hits it further than I normally do. But then after that brief moment that it seems like I had it, it’s gone and I go back to firing my arms and coming over the top and pulling. I’m guessing I haven’t figured out the right thing to focus on to get the proper sequence, so each time I might be trying to do something different, hence the inconsistent results. Think it might be time for a few lessons…

    • @jimh1986
      @jimh1986 Рік тому

I always had similar frustrations but then the real breakthrough for me was watching an Ernie Els swing video where he focuses on the transition in your arms shape from the "triangle" at the start and into the turn/backswing, and then creating a "box" at the top of the backswing. Right elbow and wrist cocked at 90° creat a 3 sided box which you want to keep square as you come back on the downswing and only release them as you come through the strike. Search for Ernie Els triangle box swing and it should come up.

Thank you once again! Sam Casey, one of your viewers, asked about your grip. I’ve heard you mention 2 1/2 knuckles. What about grip pressure? For example, is the grip pressure increased when hitting surfaces that would tend to upset or influence the club head, i.e., hard pan, thick grass, or dense sand? How to determine correct grip pressure for various conditions? Thanks again, Peter!

I think one reason why players cant swing smooth is because they pin their lead arm against their body too early. It should pin somewhere on the downswing.

So go slower to go faster, ehm.
Does this require the left hip to feel like it pushes forward and up, without "humping the goat" as a great man once said. How can we train ourselves to get the correct feeling?
